I am asking for help for Christmas presents for my children because of our whole situation we have been going through for the last year. I know I am asking early, but my situation will not change that drastically, that will allow me to do it on my own.I am having such a hard time keeping a roof over our head , let alone Christmas presents.About a year ago we moved from Sarasota, Florida to Gulfport , MS, so I could be by my grandma. We made the move and put all our belongings in storage, and went to stay with my mother.My mother ended up telling us to leave after 3 months with less than 24 hours notice. My husband did have a job at the time but we were in no position to financially be able to afford our own place. As it was, we were paying 170.00 a month to store our stuff. With not knowing what to do, we had to take a room without a kitchen and paid $280.00 a week. We did that for almost 3 months because we could not save up a month for an apartment and we don't have good credit, so we were stuck. It was a very depressing time for us. Anyway, after 3 months we got help from an organization and moved into a Days Inn Condo that was furnished and continued to struggle. That was in July and we had to get on a waiting list to get this place unfurnished so we could have cheaper rent and have our stuff. In Sept, my 2 year old fell from a ladder and was abulanced to an out of state hospital. She had severe orbital fractures and we were there for 4 days. During that time my husband lost income, which hurt us. We also had to buy my son glasses that same month. Last month we found out we could have this place unfurnished and had to come up with the past due amount so we could get our things back. We rented a truck with my birthday money and did get are stuff out. Our rent went down $125.00 and we lost the $170.00 storage payment. We were so happy because we thought things were going to finally get easier while we waited for a housing assistance voucher. Last week my computer crashed on me and I use the computer for work. It is income for us. We thought we were going to have to rent to own one for $200.00 a month, but luckilly my mom fronted me the 480.92 for the E machine that I have to pay back by the 25 th of this month, Plus worry about the $785 rent ( utilities included). More than likely we will have to get fronted $200.00 of December's rent and pay my mom on the first December paycheck. I will not be able to afford Christmas. I had to renew my tags that expired November 3 so that cost me another $90.00.Luckilly modest needs will be helping us with the $125.00 we still owe on our rent, They are the only reason I was able to pull this transition off and still renew my tags. I am very greatful for that. We work really hard. My husband has had the same job since we moved here and I do mystery shopping assignments. With my job I get paid the following month. So all the assignments I did in October, I see the money in November at the earliest. I did over 50 assignments last month that I thought would be for Christmas ( earned aprox. 600.00) but it will all go to my mom ( hopefully it will come before the 25th or the First) and all my husband's income goes to the roof over our head and food. I don't know what to do now. This family has went through so much over the last year and now I have to worry about the disappointment come Christmas. Granted I am very glad I have my things now and I get to see my childrens smile because they have their toys and their own beds. Plus I am not in a small room without a kitchen anymore. I am VERY happy about that but it was a long process. My children have always had a good Christmas and I feel like such a failure that I am in this position. Please help us , even if it's just for the kids. I don't care about my husband and I but my kids are my life. They are the reason I have kept struggling to fix our lives.I love them so much.
