I feel this project was a good project to get a good out look on gaming and over all game design. I enjoyed this project most, because it had so many different aspects of game design. It makes you sit back and think about the entire things that are put in to a simple board game. Before I started this project, I never thought of the process it takes to create a board game. There are a lot of different aspects involved that everyday people take for granted.
How can exploration of game design allow us to learn about interactive design?
The exploration of game design allows us to learn the process and steps you have to take in order to have a successful game. Color, Style, structure and objectives are all important.
What can a game model teach us:
About design methods: It can teach us the correct way to display a game. If you are making a children's game, then you want to appeal to a child’s prospective. You would want to make it colorful and cartoonish. These things appeal to children.
About Design Systems: There are different design systems; you have to experiment with a few in order to get the right one for your game. Game pieces are very important. Cards are very important. How people will play interact with each other is an aspect you would want to look at. All these's things are part of design.
About interface design: Color schemes are very important for interface design. Colors are what grab the customer’s eye. If a customer find a game visually stimulating, then chances are he/ she will pick the game up. You are half way there if they pick your game up...
About Play: It can teach us about interacting with friends and family. It can also teach us about different way's people from different places play.
How can play be used as an effective method for visual thinking? It can be used as an effective method for visual thinking because you are observing how everything works and how colors and different schemes work together for different audiences.
