Charmerande b-sida till Suedehead. Fantastisk liten sak. I know very well how I got my name är besläktad med Will never marry, ity att båda låtarna är korta, koncisa och naggande goda. Och charmigt djupt tragiska, icke att förglömma...
Moz säger, i NME 13/2 1988:
"Yes, that´s me. That´s true. When I was 13 I did experiment with bottles of bleach and so forth. I tried to dye it yellow and it came out gold, then I tried to get rid of it and it came out purple. I was sent home from school."
Texten, lite korrigerad:
A child in a curious phase
A man with sullen ways
Oh, I know very well how I got my name
You think you were my first love
You think you were my first love, but you're wrong
You were the...only one, who's come and gone
When thirteen years old
Who dyed his hair gold?
Oh, I know very well - I don't need to be told
You think you were my first love
You think you were my first love, but you're wrong
You were the...only one, who's come and gone
You were the...only one, who's come and gone
