Recent Things in My Life

A Quote

I've decided to be completely un-original, and have something like a "Recent Events" page now. I plan on changing this around every week or so(which won't actually happen. It's a PLAN, not a promise). So, assuming I get around to DOING this, and you miss a week, or something sounds strange because it refers to something I wrote before, well, that's just kinda too bad, cuz I'm just going to trash the old stuff once I update it and start over. Not like any of you CARE what I put on any of my pages. And if you DID, you probably would never take the time to write, and I doubt I'd give two shits as to how you think I should run my life. On an added note, the little quote thingee above will change every time you reload this page! WEE! It's still a bit repetitive, though. So, on to the things that are new with me as of late. Where to start? Probably at the top.

Again I've neglected to update this page recently. It's been almost four months since the last update, so I'd wager that it's about time. So again, I'll attempt to make another list of the most striking things that are new with me:

1. I hit my four year anniversary in the Marines a month or two ago. YAY. But that DOES mean that I have less than a year left! WOOO!!!
2. The Marine Corps ball is coming up soon. It's my last one, so I got my dress blues all set up, was working on getting a date, and then things fell through. So now I have to scramble to find someone that I'd actually ENJOY going with. Hopefully I can find someone...
3. I heard of someone in the local area that likes to do celtic tattoos! About time... So now I just have to go talk with the guy and see if he'd be interested in doing my tats.
4. I didn't get promoted on October 1st due to my MOS having a score of 9999 to get promoted, which means that NO ONE in my job field got promoted on the 1st. Looking forward, with guarded optimism, to getting promoted on November 1st.
5. I tried to quit smoking and had mixed results. It's really hard when all of your friends smoke. I think if I want to quit I'll either have to convince all of my friends to quit or I'll have to find new friends.
6. My friend Bryan is getting married on December 17th back in Montesano! Congrats to him! I'm going to take leave to make it back in time for the wedding, so if anyone in WA reads this, I'll be home a day or so before the 17th. My dad's birthday is ALSO on the 17th, so that should be interesting...

So, that's about it, really. Joined the Marines close to four years ago, went to Monterey, then off to N. Carolina for a bit, went to San Diego at Camp Pendelton, then off to Iraq, and now back at Camp Pendelton. If you're reading this, email me or sign my guestbook with any questions or comments about anything, but PLEASE leave an email address so I can do you the courtesy of writing back. Hell, if you're thinking of joining the Marines or you know someone who is, email me if you want to know what it's like or if you think your recruiter lied to you. Odds are he did, no matter how nice of a guy you think he is. I think they get a Christmas bonus for lying to gullible recruits. Anyways, take care, keep smilin', and remain, always, Semper Gumby.
