Who's in the current incarnation of the band? Way too many of us: 8 in all. Billy on vocals, Chaz on organ, Sean on Guitar, Dave on Bass, Bob on Drums, John Paul on Saxophone, (Jim) Me on Trumpet, and Lance who is our engineer. What stuff do you guys have out? We have put out a bunch of stuff, including Pave the World (1993), Kiss Your Ass Goodbye (1995), Full Throttle (1997), and our two newest adventures, LIVE (1999), a sonic experience derived from 3 years worth of live recordings, and PIGS (1999), a collection of hard to find goodies and weird covers we don’t play live very much. We have put out a few 7” and appeared on a ton of different compilations over the years, and, to top it all off, we’re about to record another 20 songs. (the most unoriginal question since the beginning of mankind!) What do you think your major influences are? Money, Cars, Women and Beer. Are you gonna make a studio album for Mike Park/Asian Man? I know you did the live one...... Who knows. Someday probably. Are you communist/anarchist/socialist? If not, what's with all the politico minded songs on "Full Throttle" ("I'm a have not," "noise of democracy") We all have our own opinions about the state of social Consciousness. I think we all agree that the big picture appears to be a bit screwed up. If any member of this band would make a good politician, it would be Billy. What are your thoughts on the whole "sellout" deal...criticism of Green Day, Offspring, etc..? Find me a person who doesn’t spend a lot of time doing something they don’t want to do just to earn a paycheck and then I’ll answer that question. Any cool tour stories from the Ska against Racism tour? Are you doing it next year? The whole thing was such a positive trip for us and everyone involved. I’ve never seen a group of people grow together so much in such a short amount of time. As far as stories are concerned, I don’t remember most of last year, so… When are you guys going on tour again? Great question. When Metallica calls me back. Do you guys believe in any crazy shit? (like veganism, sXe, candy obsession, etc.) Do you think Ally McBeal is anorexic? I think she’s too skinny. I don’t know her. Are you working on any new studio stuff? Yes. Tons and tons and tons… We will be releasing the world’s greatest rock album later this year. What's your favorite type of cereal? Ooooooo – tough one. Best value: Corn Flakes. Most fun: Froot Loops. Most painful: Cap’n Crunch. Healthiest: Total Raisin Bran Sweetest: Count Chocula. Do you tour in a bus or a van? Ha ha ha ha. A van. We have a really cool Chevy RV Conversion Van. It’s kind of like a cross between Grandpa’s Motor Home and the Space Shuttle. Who are your favorite bands to play with? Any unknowns you wanna give a shout-out too? MU330 is the best band of 1994. I only know them and Apocalypse Hoboken. What's the scene in Chicago like now? Kind of cold. It’s January. Chicago is so huge now that you can get anything you want at any time you want it. Is Thick Rec. putting out the live vid now? What live video? We made a vid for Smash The Magnavox (our top 10 single from last year) but it was never officially ‘released’. We were talking about making another movie with Devo, but those guys are so busy, you know? What's your favorite cartoon? Woody Woodpecker. Do you think Superman and Lois Lane ever scored? What about Batman and Catwoman? If Aquaman had sex with a normal woman, would there be a flipper baby? No, Yes, Yes. |
