"His Story" on the War on Iraq:

In going to war with Iraq, President George W. Bush has remained true to his word politically, but not spiritually, that is, from God's point of view. New America's religious pluralism demands tolerance for everything as long as it doesn't hurt someone else or break the law of the land -- yet this is a horizontal (human-to-human) norm only, made in the secularist belief that "man is the measure of all things." What about the vertical norm that was the reason for America's success from the beginning, even after Church-State separation? Modern America's forgetfulness, yea even rejection of, her historical placement under God and the biblical standard, has pressured even her openly "born-again Christian" President to "Crusade" for Liberty's cause without calling our majority-"Christian" nation to repent and return to God's vertical standard of truth and righteousness. Hence America continues to walk towards her destruction in the spirit of "Mystery Babylon", making an idol of Liberty and continuing to flaunt herself while spreading her immorality and materialism to the world...

Scriptures to consider:

"Thus says the LORD, 'Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness on earth'..." (Jeremiah 9:23-24)

"Surely the LORD God does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets" (Amos 3:7)

"The prophets who were before me and before you from ancient times prophesied against many lands and against great kingdoms, of war and of calamity and of pestilence." (Jeremiah 28:8)

Prophetic words to consider(as given to Thomas S. Gibson):

2-20-2003
"For thus says the Lord. I AM that I AM. Listen unto the warnings of My many prophets. Listen to what I say through them.
Great judgments shall come upon the nations, but the greatest shall come upon America. For she has served herself, lifting herself up and giving herself the glory for her greatness.
I AM that I AM has made her great. Those who give the glory for their greatness to Me shall be blessed. Those who think they can become great without Me shall be judged for their evil, their pride, their lust for power.
Thus says the Lord. I have spoken and it shall happen."

1-19-2003
"Thus saith the Lord, I AM that I AM. The I AM has stated that judgments shall come. But when I delay such wrath do not think it shall not occur.
I have mercy and I delay My wrath on the U.S. in order that they might repent, but have not.
After 9/11 much prayer was made, but not to repentance, but rather to protection. Have they not understood that with repentance goes My protection?
I have given them much time to turn from their sins, but they have not. Instead they now go on toward their destruction.
"

May the LORD help us discern the basis for America's victory and success in this War on Iraq as we consider America at the Crossroads and the following excerpts from "The Light and the Glory" (chapter 16) about our American Patriots' failed invasion of Canada in 1775/6:

"As Abraham Lincoln would respond, during another period of grave national crisis:
'Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my great concern is to be on God's side...'

"What happened to a small body of [American patriots] in Canada was but a reflection of the dangerous spiritual condition of pride and self-confidence which was permeating the colonies. Many ministers sensed it, and called for repentance. Through their urging, Congress acknowledged that the war could be won only through a continual willingness to face up to and deal with sin, both personal and national. Hence, a second day of fasting, humiliation, and prayer was declared by Congress for May 17.
"When the national day of repentance arrived, strong sermons were preached throughout the country. Perhaps the most widely reprinted was that of Dr. John Witherspoon, President of the College of New Jersey (Princeton):

'While we give praise to God, the supreme disposer of all events, for His interposition on our behalf, let us guard against the dangerous error of trusting in, or boasting of, an arm of flesh...I look upon ostentation and confidence to be a sort of outrage upon Providence, and when it becomes general, and infuses itself into the spirit of a people, it is a forerunner of destruction[Proverbs 16:18]...but observe that if your cause is just, if your principles are pure, and if your conduct is prudent, you need not fear the multitude of opposing hosts.
What follows from this? That he is the best friend to American liberty, who is most sincere in promoting pure and undefiled religion, and who sets himself with the greatest firmness to bear down on profanity and immorality of every kind. Whoever is an avowed enemy of God, I scruple not to call him an enemy to his country.'"
Rev. Samuel Langdon, President of Harvard College (now Harvard University), in an address at the Provincial Congress of Massachusetts on May 31st, 1775:

"We have rebelled against God. We have lost the true spirit of Christianity, though we retain the outward profession and form of it. We have neglected and set light by the glorious Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and his holy commands and institutions. The worship of many is but mere compliment to the Deity, while their hearts are far from Him. By many the Gospel is corrupted into a superficial system of moral philosophy, little better than ancient Platonism...
Wherefore is all this evil upon us? Is it not because we have forsaken the Lord? Can we say we are innocent of crimes against God? No, surely it becomes us to humble ourselves under His mighty hand, that He may exalt us in due time [James 4:10]...My brethren, let us repent and implore the Divine mercy. Let us amend our ways and our doings, reform everything that has been provoking the Most High, and thus endeavor to obtain the gracious interpositions of Providence for our deliverance...
If God be for us, who can be against us? The enemy has reproached us for calling on His name and professing our trust in Him. They have made a mock of our solemn fasts and every appearance of serious Christianity in the land...May our land be purged from all its sins! Then the Lord will be our refuge and our strength, a very present help in trouble, and we will have no reason to be afraid, though thousands of enemies set themselves against us round about.
May the Lord hear us in this day of trouble...we will rejoice in His salvation, and in the name of our God, we will set up our banners..."

"Throughout the war, committed ministers remained acutely aware of the nation's tendency towards pride and self-confidence...:

'Our cause is so just and good that nothing can prevent our success but only our sins. Could I see a spirit of repentance and reformation prevail throughout the land, I should not have the least apprehension or fear of being brought under the iron rod of slavery, even though all the powers of the globe were combined against us. And though I confess that the irreligion and profaneness which are so common among us gives something of a damp to my spirits, yet I cannot help hoping, and even believing, that Providence has designed this continent for to be the asylum of liberty and true religion.' [Samuel West, Dartmouth's minister, preaching in Boston, July 1776]...

A Reader's Insights:

The loss of both our mostly young soldiers' lives + innocent Iraqis (especially precious little children) is heart-wrenching - ABC World News' daily "portraits of war" section is truly haunting. How can the loss of even a single life (especially without the opportunity to hear the Good News) be justifiable as the price to pay for a pre-emptive war, I cannot help but ask? As much as I greatly respect our President for his consistency and determination, I wouldn't want to be in his shoes in terms of ultimate responsibility for commandeering this deepening bloodbath...

Or should we presume that praying for US protection and victory without a lasting & national-scale repentance, and Pres. Bush's faith alongside the faith of many soldiers & marines, will suffice to make this war a success (meaning, with far less casualties and resistance)? And even if we win, technically speaking, it seems suicide-bombers' resistance and the hatred of Muslims at large will only continue against American presence in Iraq -- like a large-scale Israel-Palestine situation, but without the support of God's prophetic blessing. And what do you suppose of Pres. Bush's "roadmap" solution to the Israel-Palestine problem? Will this quench the fires of hatred already immeasurably fueled by this War on Iraq?

Pres. Bush's New-World-Order vision seems to be to setup a permanent US military base in Iraq in order to withdraw US bases from surrounding Arab countries, in the hope that this will quench much of Al-Qaeda's flames about US's "defiling" presence in their "holy land" of Saudi Arabia, not to mention giving the US (already) unhindered access to oil reserves when needed - the liberation of the Iraqi people seems to be the icing on the cake, but at such a cost of lives. Many news interviews today brought forth the concern that with the current jihadic uprisings, US presence will have to initially setup a "police state" once Saddam's regime is brought down - democracy may only come gradually, inch by inch and at the price of unpredictably more bloodshed...

Was paging through a 1950's US history book ("Our American Heritage"), and saw a photo of a stone monument on Lexington Commons, MA, engraved with Patriot Captain Parker's words of April 19, 1775 following Paul Revere's warning that the British were coming - "Stand your ground. Don't fire unless fired upon. But if they mean to have a war, let it begin here." Later, I read (in "The Light and the Glory" - a book about God's hand in America's history) about the 1775 failed invasion to acquire Canadian territories - many aspects resembled the present-day failing strategies in the war on Iraq. Ministers in the 1700's sensed that excessive pride and trust in military might and asking for God's protection and blessings on the Canadian invasion without personal and national repentance were the reason for its failure and the enemy having an advantage. The then-Christian Presidents of Harvard and Princeton Universities, along with other prominent ministers, boldly called upon Congress to issue a national day of repentance and fasting. Isn't this what we need today, and will Billy Graham, D. James Kennedy (and other prominent preachers) and Pres. Bush be so bold as to call for national repentance and fasting for mercy and victory in this war?

"Coincidentally" stumbled across D. James Kennedy's (a major exponent on God's hand in America's history) sermon today, and was surprised to see that he was justifying the war as a parallel to Jesus violently casting out the moneychangers from the Temple. Also read elsewhere on the net that preachers are justifying this war as another way to "love our enemies" by removing the yoke of Saddam's oppression upon them. Absolutely NOTHING about the need for national repentance and fasting - what a lost opportunity!! How can it escape them that we need the LORD's mercy before we can have His blessing!? D James Kennedy preached a sermon about the need for military and national repentance immediately following the 9/11 attacks, but seems to have softened on this position as of late...

Texas Governor George W. Bush in Second Presidential Debate, Oct. 11, 2000:

Ref: http://abcnews.go.com/sections/politics/DailyNews/debate001011_trans_2.html

JIM LEHRER: "Should the people of the world look at the United States, Governor, and say — should they fear us? Should they welcome our involvement? Should they see us as a friend to everybody in the world? How do you — how would you project us around the world, as president?"

GOV. BUSH: "Well, I think they ought to look at us as a country that understands freedom, where it doesn’t matter who you are or how you’re raised or where you’re from, that you can succeed. I don’t think they ought to look at us with envy.

It really depends upon how our nation conducts itself in foreign policy. If we’re an arrogant nation, they’ll resent us. If we’re a humble nation but strong, they’ll welcome us.

And our nation stands alone right now in the world in terms of power. And that’s why we’ve got to be humble and yet project strength in a way that promotes freedom.

So I don’t think they ought to look at us in any other than what we are. We’re a freedom loving nation. And if we’re an arrogant nation, they’ll view us that way. But if we’re a humble nation, they’ll respect us as an honorable nation."

Pres. George W. Bush, in State of the Union address, Jan. 29, 2003:

Ref: http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/01/28/sotu.transcript.9/

"...This nation fights reluctantly, because we know the cost, and we dread the days of mourning that always come. We seek peace. We strive for peace. And sometimes peace must be defended. A future lived at the mercy of terrible threats is no peace at all. If war is forced upon us, we will fight in a just cause and by just means, sparing, in every way we can, the innocent. And if war is forced upon us, we will fight with the full force and might of the United States military, and we will prevail...

"America is a strong nation and honorable in the use of our strength. We exercise power without conquest, and we sacrifice for the liberty of strangers. Americans are a free people, who know that freedom is the right of every person and the future of every nation. The liberty we prize is not America's gift to the world; it is God's gift to humanity. We Americans have faith in ourselves, but not in ourselves alone. We do not claim to know all the ways of Providence, yet we can trust in them, placing our confidence in the loving God behind all of life and all of history. May he guide us now, and may God continue to bless the United States of America..."

Prophecies concerning Bush and War on Iraq:

As given to Dumitru Duduman 11-08-1992...
"The sin of the GREAT WHORE has spread throughout the world. The stench of her sin has reached me and it will not be long until I will raise the whole ARAB world, the RUSSIANS and other countries against her, that they may destroy her."

As given to Michael K. Roell...
7/30/02
I'm in the city (NYC) and I'm driving in traffic, changing lanes to get through faster. I come to a bridge that has an arch to it(steel bridge) and start to drive across it. I then come up to a group of older women (5,6 with a young child) all dressed in 1950's 60's attire. I pull up to them and I hear one woman talking about CURRENT EVENTS and how terrible things look. I speak up and say "I had a dream a while ago from GOD. GOD HAS RAISED UP SADDAM HUSSEIN AS AN ADVERSARY. We are going to attack him and it will TRIGGER NUCLEAR EXCHANGES WORLD WIDE. THERE WILL BE NO TURNING BACK! AMERICA WILL SOON BE DESTROYED".
Next I come to a room and the PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH AND HIS WIFE were there. I say to him "WE DON'T HAVE TO GET DESROYED, AS THE LEADER, IF YOU TAKE OFF YOUR ROBE (he had a supreme court judges robe on) AND PUT ON SACK CLOTH AND ASH, WE COULD MAKE IT! OTHERS WOULD FOLLOW YOU! HE REFUSED, HE SAID, "I WON'T, NO. I WON'T DO IT" (like a spoiled child).

As given to Thomas Gibson...

2002 08 18.1
As I was praying the Lord showed me the following in my spirit. I could see President Bush from his left side sitting at a desk or table. He was saying, “We must get Saddam Hussein, we must get Saddam Hussein.” (He said it twice).

As I watched he signed some type of paper. But he signed it with his left hand from the right to the left––just as the Arabic language is written. He signed this twice. I could not tell if he was signing two papers one above the other, or twice on the same page.
Then the Lord gave me this word. Thus says the Lord, these two statements by Bush, plus the two signatures, indicate each two agreements with Arabic nations.
These two agreements are compromises by Bush in order to get permission to go into Iraq.
When he signs them, says the Lord, this will create ruffled feathers both in America and in Arabic areas as they find out what is agreed too; which will not be done until some time later.

2002 08 24.1
The first agreement [see 2002 08 18.1] the American President will make with the Arabic nations is to strongly support a Palestine state in the West Bank. The second agreement will be their right to the capital of Jerusalem.
The U.S. President will then backtrack on these two agreements creating trouble on both sides––first to the right wing American politics, and then to the Arabic states.

2002 08 31.2
The Lord says: George Bush shall not leave his office before the end of his second term, but rather shall be killed before that time.

2002 10 23.1
While I was in prayer I could see in my spirit President Bush as I had seen him earlier [see 2002 08 18.1]. I watched him signed again. But this time it continued and I saw him lean back in his chair and say, “I will do anything to get into Iraq.” Then the Lord gave me this word:
thus saith the Lord. What you have seen is right. He has said it, and he has meant it.

2002 11 1.1
For thus says the Lord. America is due judgment. My hook is in Bush’s nose to pull him into war with Iraq. And when he goes to war, America will be judged in a great way.

For thus says the Lord. America, America why have you forsaken Me?

2003 01 19.1
Thus saith the Lord, I am that I am.

2003 01 30.1
In my spirit I could see Saddam Hussein. As I looked at him I could see his heart come up before me. In it I could see an image of Hussein saying, “I am god.” He said it several times.

2003 01 30.2
In my spirit I could see President Bush. He said, “I‘m in control, I’m in control.”

2003 03 28.1
As America's invasion of Iraq in the '98 bombing brought about September 11 [see prophecies 2001 09 13.1 and 2002 11 1.1], so too will this invasion into Iraqi soil bring terrorism on American soil.

I have purposed in My heart that America shall be judged--and so it shall.

In conclusion...
A Message Concerning Iraq
