Pan over a wooded area outside of New York. Pan down into darkness and pan around to a clearing. In the deep of the woods a dark cloaked figure waits in the stillness of the night. We pan around to the back of the tall cloaked figure and see Ares, God of War, walk towards him. Ares lifts his chin, arrogant as always, unwilling to bow before anyone, man or god.

Ares - Tezcatipoca I have summoned you here to ask for your help. This is not something I do lightly but I do it with a sacred trust we have, from one god to another.

Tezcatipoca - What is your desire?

Ares - You are the Aztec god of Destiny. I need to know what is going to happen to me, what is my destiny?

Tezcatipoca - Your time as a god will end. You will cease to exist.

Ares - Is there anyway I can change that.

Tezcatipoca - You can only change the path you take, the destination remains the same.

Ares - That kind of philosophical crap is for mortals who can't escape death! I am a God! There must be a way!!

Tezcatipoca - There may be a way. I understand you have a soft spot for the Warrior Princess.

Ares - (laughs) Um . . .Yeah. I've travelled down that road before. Xena wants nothing to do with me. It's not like I haven't tried but it seems her destiny lies far from mine.

Tezcatipoca - Your destinies are intertwined. You will see her before your end. You will need her to change what comes to pass. Her chakram is the key. The light and the dark powers fused together holds special power.

Ares - (sarcastic) Swell. Getting Xena's chakram is not exactly an easy task.

Tezcatipoca - Nor is changing a destiny. Extreme measures must be taken

Ares - And what extreme measures do I have to take to get the chakram?

Tezcatipoca - That is up to you. I can not help you if you can not help yourself.

Ares - Thanks for nothing(starts to walk off)

Tezcatipoca - Think of your destiny Ares. Only with the chakram do I have the power to alter it.

Ares stalls for a minute. He balls his hands into fists then thunders off into the night.

THREE WEEKS LATER:
In Alex's loft Craig, Alex and Eve are sitting on the couch watching a special report that had just come on television.

Historian(on television) - We have found Xena the Warrior Princess' chakram

Eve - In the name of Eli!

Historian(on television) - Miraculously enough it was found just outside of the Los Angelas area. In a junk yard of all places. Reports in recent months tell of two women dressed up as The Warrior Princess and the Bard who used the legendary weapon. However, these women disappeared and no one knows where they are or how they got hold of the chakram. This is an amazing find given reports that its last known whereabouts were in Greece.

T.V. Reporter(on television) - Will you keep the chakram to study its legendary power

Historian - (laughs a little) It's only as powerful as the warrior who wielded it. Actually we're giving the chakram back to its owner. As you are well aware of our conference when we had found a missing Xena scroll, Annie (pans off to the side to see Annie standing there with Mattie) came to us and it was discovered that she was a reincarnation of Xena with all memories of that previous life in tact. We give this chakram to her hoping she can do as much good with it in this life as she did as Xena

Eve jumps up from her seat and gets right down beside the T.V. She looks at her mother standing there with Gabrielle. They look different but also somehow the same.

Eve - My mother . . . she has been reincarnated and is alive, with memories of me? (looks back to Alex and Craig) Why didn't you tell me?

Craig - We knew nothing about this!

Eve - I need to talk to this woman. I need to find her.

Craig - Whoa! Eve hold on a minute here. It's not that easy

Eve - What do you mean?

Alex - Um Eve . . . there's something we may have neglected to mention about Xena and her legacy in this time.

Eve - Such as?

Alex looks to Craig with an apprehensive look on her face. Craig just shrugs and Alex looks back to Eve

Alex - There was a show about Xena's adventures. It's shown everything that Xena ever did in her life. There's even tales about you. Your birth, your time as Livia, your whole life.

Eve - There's someone out there, acting out my life?

Craig - It's complicated. That show was popular and a lot of people probably know the details of your life with Xena. This Annie character probably gets a lot of people contacting her, telling her that they are her reincarnated daughter. In this era everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame no matter the cost

Alex - Have you seen Big Brother?

Eve - But I haven't been reincarnated.

Craig - Not likely, otherwise the spell wouldn't have worked. The same soul can't exist in the same time as two seperate entities but Annie doesn't know that. You won't be able to convince her of who you are. She'll think you're a fraud

Alex - I think we should let her try

Craig - It's a long shot

Alex - If I even had the slightest chance to be with my parents again I'd take it without hesitation.

Eve - (sits down beside Alex and looks at her with confusion) Alex?

Craig - Alex's parents died in a car crash when she was 15.

Eve - (takes Alex's hand) Oh Alex, I'm so sorry.

Alex - (pulls her hand away uncomfortable with this) Hey, whatever. Forget about it! (jumps over the couch and stalks off to her bedroom)

Craig - Its a touchy subject. Alex doesn't like to talk about it.

Eve - I'm sure there were a lot of things Alex wanted to say to her parents. It's the same way with me. My mother died before I had a chance to say goodbye and I never really had the chance to know her.

Craig - I understand

Eve - Craig, I need to go and see this woman if I can. I need to close that chapter of my life and move on. I want her to know what I'm doing here and that she will be in my heart always.

Craig - Try to understand Eve, it's not that I don't want you to do this, its just very unlikely that Annie is going to believe you are who you say you are. I don't want you to get hurt.

Eve - I have to try.

Craig - (sighs)Alright . . . alright. I have some contacts in L.A. I might be able to arrange for you to see Annie. I'll see about getting some tickets for a plane out there and I'll go with you.

Eve - (jumps into Craig's arms hugging him) Craig thank you!

Craig - (surprised at first but them smiles hugging her back) No thanks is needed. I promised to help you adjust to this time, closure with your mother will help (pulls away) But you're going to have to start doing more patrol duty.

Eve - What do I have to do?

Cut to a park in New York at night. Eve and Craig duck out of the way as a demon goes flying into a tree.

Craig - Oh yeah, he's a gross one! With full grown demons you usually snap their neck or decapitate them. You really don't need to go into the whole "In the name of Eli . . " spiel cause nine times out of ten if you hesitate . . .

Eve - . . . in any form they will take the chance to kill you and succeed.(spins around with the sword and cuts off the demons head) One of Ares first rules in engaging the enemy. Shoot first and ask questions later.

Craig - Just remember Eve you are not dealing with people who have souls and who have a choice. These demons have only two functions. Kill and damn.

Alex - Heads up!

Alex spins a demon around and kicks him in the butt sending him flying over to Craig who cuts of it's head while still in mid air

Eve, Alex and Craig hear a scream in the distance. Eve bolts in that direction.

Cut to a spot in the park where a young woman is being mauled by a hairy demon that sort of looks like "big foot" Eve jumps through the air and grabs on to the back of the beast and hauls him off. It swings at Eve who ducks. She kicks it in the groin. It howls in pain before Alex jumps over with a sword and cuts off it's head. The young woman who witnesses this continues screaming. Alex covers her ears while Craig attempts to calm her down with no avail. Eve puts a hand on Craig's shoulder motioning him back. Eve kneels beside the woman and gently puts her hands to the young woman's face. The young woman stops screaming and looks at Eve with fearful eyes. She is panting and out of breath. Eve calmly lifts her up and leans her against a tree. Eve without a word looks over the woman's wounds.

Young Woman - Who are you people? What was that thing?

Eve - We're just people. I can't really explain what that thing was but it was hurting you. I wanted to help.

Young Woman - What did you do to it?

Alex - Sent it back to where it belongs

Young Woman - Thank you

Eve - (smiles) You're welcome. You don't seem to have any major wounds just a few cuts and bruises. What's your name?

Young woman - Carol

Eve - And how are you feeling Carol?

Young Woman - . . . Scared . . . confused . . .

Eve - It's okay to feel that way but your safe now. You just need to be a little more careful.

Young Woman - Who are you?

Eve - Someone who will always be looking out for you

Young Woman - (looks relieved) Thank you

Eve - You should probably look after those cuts

Craig - I'll see she gets home.

Craig helps the woman up and gets her out of the park. Alex and Eve wait until they are out of sight before they start patrolling again

Alex - Nice work

Eve - I wish I didn't have to lie to her though

Alex - You didn't lie. You said that thing was trying to hurt her and it was. She was satisfied with the answer. The important thing is you saved her life and calmed her down. If you had have told her exactly what that thing was we would have another "Kevin" case on our hands

Eve - I guess

Alex and Eve hears screams and demons howling in two different directions.

Alex - We'll have to split up. If you need help remember to light up your flare. If I can't help Craig will be along.

Eve- Got it

Alex heads to the left while Eve ventures to the right.

Cut to Eve walking steady and on guard along side the hedges. She stops and falls back to avoid getting hit by the two figures that tumble out of the bush. A squid like demon with tentacles gets up. A figure decked in leather jumps on its back and snaps it's neck. The figure let's out a whoop of delight and turns around

Ares - WHOO! YEAH! Man that was fun

Eve - Ares!?

Ares - Oh hey Eve. Word was that you were out tonight!

Eve - (brushes past) Maybe I should stay under radar then

Ares - Radar? Do you even know what that means?

Eve - (continues walking)What do you want Ares?

Ares - (runs up to walk along side Eve) Hey I'm just looking out for you. Remember, preserving you preserves me

Eve - I'm touched that you care but lucky for you I'll be away for the next few days so you don't have to worry about looking out for me.

Ares - Where are you going?

Eve - Los Angelas. Not that's it's any of your business

Ares - L.A.(stops for a minute) . . . Oh you're going to see Xena

Eve - (stops in her tracks and turns around) What are you talking about?

Ares - Oh come on Eve. You just got here in New York and now you're heading to L.A. for no reason? Please! I saw the news. It's all over the place about Xena and her chakram. You're going to see her

Eve - So? What's it to you?

Ares - Let me save you a bit of time and money. How about I bring Xena to you?

Eve - Forget it! You're up to something.

Ares - Oh come on Eve. Do I have to be up to something? Helping you helps me. Let me help you out

Eve - Why? So I can owe you another?

Ares - Ah but this is where you repaying me comes in. I bring Xena to you, you do a little favour for me, all debts are repaid and you see your mom again. I'll even throw in Auntie Gabrielle for free.

Eve - What little favour?

Ares - I'll tell you if you accept

Eve looks at Ares a little weary. She wonders what he could be planning

Ares - Come on Eve, this is a limited time offer

Eve - Alright I accept! But you better be true to your word.

Ares - I never gave my word

Ares thunders out without giving Eve any explanation or verification. Eve looks around her wildly wondering where he went to.

Eve - ARES!!

LOS ANGELAS:

Cut to an apartment

Annie is sitting in a chair looking at the chakram. She twirls it around on the coffee table then picks it up again. Mattie walks over and sits down beside Annie.

Mattie - It must be feel good to have the chakram by your side again. I've always felt you weren't really complete without it.

Annie - But what am I going to do with it?

Mattie - What you've always done with it. Right wrongs, triumph over evil. Fight for others who can't fight for them selves

Annie - But that's not me anymore. It doesn't feel right. I just don't feel like it belongs to me anymore.

Mattie - But that doesn't change who you are or the good you can do

Annie - But things do change. That's just it. This is my time, Annie's time, not Xena's

NEW YORK:

Cut to Alex's loft the next day

Alex & Craig - ARES?!

Craig - You made a deal with Ares?

Eve - I know it sounds crazy but I believed him when he said he'd bring my mother to me

Alex - Look on the bright side Craig. Think of the money you'll save now you don't have to buy plane tickets

Craig - That's not the point. Eve didn't have to make a deal with Ares. He could be up to something. Making a deal like that could put you in danger . . .

Eve - Don't you think I went over all this. He probably is up to something. He wants me to do him a favour but he has to bring my mother and Gabrielle first before I do it for him. If he is planning something at least my mother and Gabrielle will be here to help me prevent it.

Craig - Favour? What kind of favour?

Ares - (thunders in) The kind that will hopefully endear me to Xena again

Eve - Ares! How long have you'll been there?

Ares - I just popped in when book boy over here asked about what kind of favour I wanted.

Eve- And that is?

Ares - Put in a good word for me with your mom

Eve - You've got to be kidding

Ares looks over to Craig and Alex who have been standing there with their mouths hanging open and their eyes practically popping out of their heads stunned that Ares the God of War had just thundered in and was standing there right before them

Ares - Can I help you?

Craig - Oh my God!

Alex - Of War!

Ares - The one and only.(Looks to Eve) Do they have to be here?

Eve - They're my friends. What you can say to me you can say in front of them

Ares walks over to Alex and circles around her eyeing her with interest. Alex stands rigidly wondering what he's doing.

Ares - (looks back to Eve) I guess they can stay

Eve - Thanks, because your approval means so much

Craig - Hey! Are you responsible for all those recent wars?

Ares - (sighs) No, I'm sorry to say mortals brought those about themselves.(Turns to Eve) But lets stay on the task at hand. If I bring Xena and Gabrielle here will you put in a good word for me? Make Xena see me in a better light. Tell her about the time a sacrificed my godhood and how I saved your life just recently.

Eve - I don't think it will make much of a difference but you have my word. I'll talk to her about it.

Ares - Good. Now remember, when Xena gets here and you have your little mother daughter talk, you convince her to drop the peace loving blond and pick me on up

Eve - Ares, Gabrielle has a name now get going!!

Ares - (winks)Be back in a flash(thunders out)

LOS ANGELAS:

Cut to Annie and Mattie on the streets of L.A. They're walking along when they hear a scream. They look across the street and see a woman being mugged. The culprit runs off with the purse and Annie lifts her chakram to throw it but hesitates.

Mattie - Annie what are you doing?

Annie - I don't think . . .

Just then Ares thunders in causing Annie and Mattie to turn around in shock.

Annie - Ares!

Ares - Sorry Xena, but you have another engagement.

Ares grabs both Annie and Mattie and thunders out with both of them.

NEW YORK:

Cut back to New York in Alex's loft. Alex and Craig are sitting on the couch watching Eve pace back and forth

Alex - Eve, would you cut it out your going to wear a hole in the floor

Eve- (stops and looks at Alex and Craig) Where is he? Where is he!!?

Bright lights and thunder cracks and flash inside Alex's loft. All of them shield their eyes. When the lights fade we pan over to Eve who uncovers her eyes and sees Ares with Annie(Xena) and Mattie(Gabrielle) standing there.

Eve - Mother! Gabrielle!

COMMERCIAL

Annie looks to Eve shocked. All her memories of Eve come flooding back.

From "Path of Vengeance" A grown up Eve prepares to leave her mother and Gabrielle

Eve - I've decided to go east, to Chin and the land of Indus. Eli's message will be heard

Eve - (gives Xena a hug) And thank you for giving me life so many times. I love you

*flash*

Eve walks away from Xena and Gabrielle in the amazon village

Xena - Stay out of trouble

*end flash*

Xena - Eve?

Eve - (smiles) Mother!

Xena and Eve embrace in warm hug. Eve then turns to Gabrielle who smiles

Gabrielle - Eve!

Gabrielle and Eve also hug. Craig and Alex smile at this warm reunion.

Eve - You know me! You know who am?

Xena - Of course I do. A mother always knows (smiles and hugs Eve again)

Ares just rolls his eyes and coughs. Xena turns around with a snide look on her face.

Xena - What do you want?

Ares - Eve, isn't there something you want to say to Xena?

Xena - Why don't you just butt out!!

Eve - Mother wait! I asked him to bring you here.

Xena - (turns around to face Eve) What? Why?

Eve - I had to see you again. When I found out that you were alive in this body with all memories of your identity and past, I had to see you.

Gabrielle - Where are we exactly?

Eve - New York

Gabrielle - We're still in the 21st century?

Xena - How is that possible? Why are you alive in this time?

Eve - (sighs) It's a long story

Ares - Yeah Yeah Yeah it's all very gut wrenching . . .

Xena - (turns around to face Ares) I'm going to wrench your guts in a minute

Ares - (smiles) Ah Xena, still got that fire I see. Yeah I'm sure you could wrench my guts but

Ares eyes shift down to Xena's waist with the chakram hanging loosely at her side

Xena - But what?

Ares - (looks back up to Xena's eyes) I need something first

Xena - (turns back around to Eve) What is he talking about?

Ares, in a quick move grabs the chakram away from Xena. She turns around quickly noticing he's taken it from her

Ares - Little slow on the reflexes Xena? Oh well finders keepers!!

Ares thunders out of the loft with the chakram in his hand

Xena - ARES!!

Xena makes a move to run out of the loft to find Ares but Eve and Gabrielle hold her back.

Gabrielle - Xena! You don't know this city! He could be anywhere! He could have even left the country!

Xena - But my chakram! Why would he take it?

Eve- Mother I'm sorry. I should have realised he was up to something. He wouldn't have taken it if I hadn't have asked him to bring you here. He knew you'd be vulnerable

Xena - You couldn't have known. You just wanted to see us again. (her eyes soften when she looks at her daughter) I would have risked it too.

Gabrielle - It doesn't matter anymore. Ares may have a lot of faults and what ever his intentions really were, he did something really important and that was bring us together again.

Xena - (looks to Eve) She's right you know

Eve - Oh mother! There is so much to tell you!

Xena - Let's start with what you're doing here. How is it possible that you're alive in this time?

Gabrielle - I thought you would have been reincarnated.

Eve walks over to Alex and Craig.

Eve - Mother, Gabrielle. This is Alex and Craig. They're my friends. They're the ones who brought me here. They're also the best people to explain why.

Craig - (clears his throat) Um, messing in karmic circles is serious business and serious magic. I usually don't like to go there. But Eve is different. The spell I cast worked because Eve is meant to be here. No matter how much power one has you can't change the natural order of things.

Xena - Well, that's all well and good because we wouldn't want to upset the natural order of things, but do you mind telling me why or even how you've brought my daughter here.

Craig - We used a spell that can transfer a soul from one time to another. It's a complicated and it wasn't something I did on a whim. I put a lot of thought and consideration into this and I wouldn't have even thought of the idea if a monk from the last temple of Eli hadn't have given me guidance and a talisman of Eli.

Gabrielle - People still follow Eli?

Alex - Very few follow him but his message, which is what's really important, has spread though many cultures.

Craig - But the message is fading. I'm sure you both know of the sin, hate and war that has spread though out this world at alarming rates over the past few years. This excessive amount of sin has allowed demons to walk our earth. They hurt people, they steal souls, they influence people to commit damning acts. If it continues, Lucifer will take over the earth.

Xena - What?

Eve - It's true. Lucifer was bound to an eternity in hell for committing sins as an arch angel. He can never walk the earth because his sinful blood binds him to hell but if enough people commit enough sins and enough portals from hell are open to let demons pass through, a hell can be created on earth. The world would be tainted enough for Lucifer to walk this earth.

Gabrielle - Can anything be done to prevent it?

Craig - Very few people can handle the truth. We need someone to fight for the people. To give them a chance to choose a better life but also guide them in that respect. Eve is the one to show them the way

Eve - Its my destiny Mother

Xena - (shakes her head) I don't like this idea of you fighting. You were supposed to find a new way beyond the blood and violence.

Alex - Don't you get it? She has

Eve - Alex please!(looks to Xena) Mother I am meant to show these people a way beyond it. I can do it here and now when people need it the most.

Gabrielle - But you're fighting again. This isn't like you.

Alex - You people don't seem to get the difference between fighting people with souls and fighting those without souls.

Eve - What Alex is trying to say is that I would never hurt someone who had a chance to change. I only fight demons.

Xena sighs and sits down and Gabrielle folds her arms thinking about the situation

Eve - (kneels before her mother) Mother I never meant to disappoint you.

Xena - (looks up to her daughter in shock) Is that what you think? Eve no. You could never disappoint me. This is such an important mission for you and you have a real challenge before you. This is so big and I won't be able to stay to support and help you.

Eve - What do you mean?

Xena - I'm not really your mother am I. I'm Annie not Xena.

Eve - You have her spirit. That's enough

Gabrielle - Eve, you're our daughter and we love you no matter what. You've tried so hard to be a better a person and follow a better path. But fighting Lucifer is bigger than anything you've every experienced before. We worry about you.

Craig motions to Alex to go off into the other room since Eve might like some time alone with her mothers. Alex nods and they both leave the room.

Eve - Being here, helping people, showing them a better way, I've had more hope than I ever had before that I can teach the word of Eli, that being Livia doesn't matter anymore. Here I truly am Eve. You're daughter.

Eve puts her head down then looks up to Xena and Gabrielle with tears in her eyes

Xena - Eve, what's wrong?

Eve - I just keep thinking about when word reached me about your death in the Land of the Rising Sun. I just ran, ran for days. I didn't know where from or where to, all I wanted to do was run until I finally collapsed. I cried asking for Eli to give me strength. All I could think of was I never got the chance to tell you how much I love you or much I cherished Gabrielle.

Xena - Xena's spirit lives on in me. That part of me that is Xena always knew how much you loved her . . . me. I didn't need to be told. And that part of me that is Xena will always love you.

Eve gets up and hugs her mother. Then they both open their arms to let Gabrielle in the hug. It is a tender moment until the sound of someone clearing their throat breaks the mood. They all turn around to look at Alex and Craig standing there. Under Craig's arm is the spell book.

Alex - Sorry to break this up but we might have a problem

Eve - What is it?

Craig - When Ares took Xena's chakram I wondered why he would want it. What purpose could he possibly have for it? Then I got to thinking about Tezcatipoca.

Xena - Who?

Eve - The Aztec god of darkness and destiny. Craig told me it was the year of his summoning. No one knows how to summon him except Aztec priests . . .and other gods.

Craig - He uses very personal objects to see people's destiny. However, with a weapon such at the chakram, a weapon of light and darkness, it could unlock the power to change destiny, a power which Tezcatipoca would be very interested in having. He may have made a deal with Ares, the power to change destiny in exchange for changing the destiny of Xena and Ares

Xena - How typical of Ares

Craig - It gets worse. Tezcatipoca thrives on abstract energy, the energy that comes from destiny. He'll manipulate Ares, stripping him of all his strength and power rather then changing his destiny. He'll use the chakram for his own purposes.

Eve - Mother we have to go. We've got to find him.

Gabrielle - Eve's right Xena. Who knows how he could change your destiny.

Xena - Why? We make our own destinies in this family. Nothing will change that and Ares deserves to be destroyed for all he's done to our family

Eve - Mother please. If not for yourself then at least do it for me. I owe Ares that much

Xena - Why?

Eve - Because he saved my life and he's been looking out for me since I got here

Xena looks to Eve confused. She looks into her pleading face and relents. She sighs and nods her head

Xena - Let's go

Craig - We'll come too

Eve - No. You and Alex stay here. I appreciate your concern but this is something we need to do on our own. One last time, as a family.

Alex and Craig nod and smile as Eve, Gabrielle and Xena head out the loft door.

Cut to the streets of New York in the evening. The sun has begun to set. Eve is walking along the streets at a fast pace along a park. Gabrielle and Xena follow closely behind

Gabrielle - Eve, do you know where you're going?

Eve - Ares will go somewhere secluded. Parks and cemeteries are usually prime spots for unusual activity. I may not know a lot about this city but I've been here long enough to know where stuff goes down.

Gabrielle looks to Xena and she smiles

Xena - What?

Gabrielle - Like mother, like daughter.

As Xena Gabrielle and Eve travel along the side walk they get stopped by a voice across the street

Female Voice - Hey! Hey you!

Eve stops as she recognises the voice. She looks across the street to see Carol the woman she saved from the night before. She's with a few of her friends. They run across the street to catch up with Eve. Xena and Gabrielle are kind of ushered out of the way but they still look upon the scene

Carol - (to her friends) This is the girl I was telling you about. Isn't she awesome? She was so great that night.

Eve - (smiles nervously at being made a spectacle.) Uh, Carol right? This really isn't a good time. . .

Carol - (interupts)I should be thanking you. You saved my life. You saved me from that . . . . what was it?

Eve - I really don't know what it was exactly.

Carol - You have to let me give you some sort of reward

Eve - No no no. I don't want a reward

Friend - Don't want a reward? So, you just go around saving people's lives for kicks?

Eve - No, I want to save people because it's the right thing to do.

Friend - Oh.

Carol - There must be something I can do for you, to repay what you did for me.

Eve - You know what you can do? The next time you see someone upset or in distress or in need of help, help them, talk to them, smile at them. You'd be surprised at how much a little of yourself can go a long way and how much love can change a person's life.

Carol - (looks at Eve with awe and smiles serenely understanding) Okay. I will and thanks again.

Carol walks away with her friends and Xena puts a hand on Eve's shoulder.

Xena - It looks like you can fulfil your destiny here and make a real difference

Gabrielle - One person at a time, where it counts.

Xena smiles at Eve. She then spots something in the park past Eve's head. It's Ares lurking around. Eve looks at Xena's gaze

Xena - It's Ares. He has my chakram. Let's go

In the shadows of the park Ares walks briskly to a dark spot in the trees and comes upon a clearing. A dark cloaked figure stands as before and waits patiently.

Tezcatipoca - You have returned.

Ares - Yeah, well you aren't exactly the easiest guy to track down.

Tezcatipoca - You have the chakram

Ares - Yeah. So can you do it? Can you change destiny with this thing?

Tezcatipoca - Yes, finally, I have the power to do so.

Ares - You said Xena's destiny is intertwined with mine. Can you make it so we could be together? If I have her by my side I could raise an army to take over this world.

Pan over to far behind Ares. Gabrielle Xena and Eve move soundlessly and crouch behind the bushes. They've heard what Ares said.

Xena - That bastard.

Gabrielle - You got to give him credit for being so persistent

Xena - Yeah, well persistent is just another word for pig headed.

Eve - Mother, look!

Xena looked to where Eve said. Tezcatipoca held the chakram in mid-air. It glows and spins around

Tezcatipoca - Look at the chakram, focus on it. Know that your godhood is your strength, your power. Use it, focus it, concentrate on it

Ares looks at the chakram as he peers on it's spinning form he begins to sway his eyes becoming glazed over. He's in a trance.

Xena - We've got to stop this

Xena leaps out of the bushes shouting her famous war cry. She flips in to the air and over Ares landing in front of the spinning chakram snapping Ares out of his daze.

Ares - Xena!

Xena - (looks to Tezcatipoca) That's mine!

Gabrielle jumps up and jumps out of the bushes. She flips over to land behind Ares. He turns around to see Gabrielle. At the same time Xena and Gabrielle do a round house kick aimed at Ares. Ares blocks both of them and jumps doing a split in the air kicking Xena and Gabrielle back. He makes a move to grab the chakram when Eve flips out of nowhere landing in front of him.

Eve - Still taking what doesn't belong to you? Not a good idea.

Eve flips forward kicking the chakram out of Tezcat's grasp and high in the air. Xena flips in the air over the hooded figure and catches the chakram. Gabrielle cart wheels over to Ares. He does a round kick on her but she ducks. She jumps up bicycle kicking him twice in the chest. Ares stumbled back shocked. He moves to attack her again but Gabrielle jumps up and kicks him back.

Gabrielle - I'm keeping you at a safe distance from Tezcatipoca for your own good Ares.

Ares - You want to know what would be good for me? It would be good if you BUTT OUT OF MY LIFE!!

Ares punches Gabrielle and she flies into a tree.

Xena - Gabrielle!!

Eve - NO!!

Xena- (flips over to Ares and tries to punch him but he catches her fist) Ares don't you see, Tezcatipoca will use you! He means to take your strength, your god hood

Ares pushes Xena back. They look at each other briefly before Xena runs toward Tezcat. Xena flips up in the air intending to kick Tezcatipoca but instead she bangs into him like he was a brink wall. She bounces off and lands hard on the ground. She stands up shocked trying to shake off the hurt. She looks over at Tezcatipoca and notices his form change. Before their eyes Tezcatipoca changes into a jaguar. It lunges at Xena's throat.

Eve - Mother!!

Ares - NO! (Ares jumps at the cat and pulls it away from Xena.)

Xena gets up and readies her chakram and throws it at Tezcatipoca. The Jaguar dodges the chakram and lunges at Ares. Ares struggles with the cat to try and keep it from biting off his head.

The chakram Tezcat shrugged off ricochets from tree to tree and zooms right for Eve's head. She catches it gracefully

Suddenly a light from the sky shines upon Eve as she holds the chakram. The chakram changes in her hands. The chakram loses it's ying yang shape as the inner side takes a twisted rope like shape in sliver and gold while the outer edge remains silver and sharp. Eve looks at the chakram in amazement. Even Tezcat in jaguar form was distracted by the light. Eve looks at Tezcat and throws the chakram at it. The chakram sliced off the jaguar's head and once again ricochets off a tree and back to Eve. It is now covered it Tezcat's blood. Xena runs over to Gabrielle and helps her up. Ares pushed the lifeless form of the headless jaguar off him. As he gets up he watches the rest of the body vanish. Ares seeing Xena is slightly distracted makes a move to leave but Eve spots him.

Eve - Mother!

Eve tosses the chakram to Xena as she flips over Ares and holds the chakram to his throat.

Ares - (Ares holds back actually looking frightened) Come on Xena you don't want to do what I think you want to do. Do you?

Xena - (curiously) What's wrong Ares? What's got you so scared?

Ares - Well seeing as Tezcatipoca was so easily killed by that chakram I would say that chakram has the power to kill Gods again. But you wouldn't use it on me would you?

Xena - Why ever not?

Ares - Eve! Come on Eve! You owe me! I let you use my phone.

Eve -(walks over to Xena and lowers Xena's arm) Mother, he has been looking out for me here and he did save my life. Besides, if you want to get back to L.A. we do need him to send you back.

Xena - You get off easy this time but only because I need you.

Ares - (cocky again) Why Xena, I didn't know you cared

Xena - Don't push it!

COMMERCIAL

Back at the loft, Ares is ready to send Xena and Gabrielle back to L.A. as Annie and Mattie. Xena still has the chakram but the blood has been washed off

Xena - I don't get it. You had plenty of opportunity to take the chakram away from me on numerous occasions when I got it back. Why go to all the trouble of bringing me and Gabrielle here to see Eve.

Ares - Oh come on Xena, what do you take me for? I would have never gotten it away from you. I knew you needed a big distraction. Eve here has been the only one ever to distract you long enough from anything. So what are you gonna do with that thing? Become Xena Slayer of Gods again?

Craig - Actually Tezcatipoca is half demon and in jaguar form he's more vulnrable. So I wouldn't worry too much. It changed in Eve's hands, it must have the power to vanquish demons now.

Xena - Yeah, well I had that power to kill gods once once and I got cocky and lost it. I don't deserve that kind of power.(turns to Eve) Eve sweetie, I wish I could stay and be a part of your life but . . .

Eve - But you're Annie and you have to live your life as such. I understand.

Craig - I bet you're glad to have your chakram back at least.

Eve - I know you will do a lot of good with it

Xena -(Xena looks to Gabrielle who smiles and nods and then looks back to Eve) No. Xena's time has passed. The chakram has only as much power as the warrior who wields it.(Xena gives the chakram to Eve) Take this. It changed in your hands, it has new power. It's meant for you and your mission here.

Eve - Mother . . .

Xena - This is your destiny Eve. This is your time. Wherever you go in this life, know that it has this power because you're meant to wield it. The fight has passed from Xena to you. And now you will always carry a little piece of your mother with you.

Eve - (takes the chakram tentatively) Thank you. I'll use it well.

Xena - You better. I love you Eve

Eve - I love you too.

Xena and Eve hug before Gabrielle and Eve hug

Ares - (dripping with sarcasm) How touching. Can we get moving?!

Xena - (looks to Ares with a degree of disgust then looks back to Eve with a smile) Good bye Eve and good luck.

Gabrielle - We love you and we believe in you

Eve - Bye Mother Bye Gabrielle. Oh and Ares I did as you requested and I even saved your butt tonight, so I guess that makes us even.

Ares rolls his eyes and sneers. As Xena and Gabrielle wave good bye Ares takes them away in a flash of thunder and lightening.

Craig - Did you get that closure you were looking for?

Eve- (nods)And a new confidence in what I'm doing here.

Alex - And a lovely parting gift. (smiles at Eve's laughter) She's right you know. You have destiny here. You will make a difference for the better.

Eve - I know. Like mother like daughter
