We pan over New York city on a bright sunny day at noon. We cut to the midday sun shining brightly through a window into a bare room. This is Eve's new apartment over the Centre. Its been cleared out and renovated but there is no furniture yet, just bare walls. We pan around to Eve at the mantle piece painting the walls a deep blue. We pan over to the door. Alex barges in!

Alex - There you are!

Eve - (turns around startled and confused) Yeah? Craig dropped me off here this morning!

Alex - Well you could have said something before taking off!

Eve - I did! Last night when we were out!

Alex - (stares at Eve blankly) You really shouldn't make future plans while I'm hunting. I'm like in this whole warrior haze! I'm not going to hear you.

Eve - What?

Alex - I was worried. I had no idea where you were. You left really early thing morning! I had to call Craig!

Eve - I left at nine! You just weren't up yet. And you don't need to worry. After what happened with the bank and you in the hospital . . . I . . .I'm trying to adjust to this world and way of life but . . .until I do I plan to let either you or Craig know where I am and when. . . Which is why I left a note to tell you I was coming by here to paint!

Alex - There was a note?

Eve - (exasperated) On the fridge!

Alex - (shakes her head) I'm not really a morning person! I just don't see things when I first wake up

Eve - (goes back to painting) You know what, never mind!

Alex - (sighs) Well look, I'm here anyway cause I'm expecting the delivery guys, do you need some help?

Eve - Sure. Grab a brush.

Alex smiles as she takes off her jacket and rolls up her sleeves.

Eve - You'd think Gods would be more alert, with more energy and wakefulness.

Alex - I don't make the rules. The extra strength and fire power sure comes in handy though. It will be especially useful tonight

Eve- What's going on tonight?

Alex hesitates as she realized Eve doesn't know what going on and quickly tries to cover.

Alex - Oh nothing! Same ol'

Eve - Oh no, you're not getting out of this. What's happening tonight?

Alex - Its nothing! Forget it!

Eve - Does it have anything to do with the way people have been behaving the last few days?

Alex doesn't answer and avoids looking at Eve

Eve - Alex I'm not stupid. People are dressing up like demons, putting up odd symbols on their homes. I went to the market and a woman nearly bowled me over trying to get to the chocolate. I saw a clerk at the bodega chase off a bunch of kids that were trying to buy fireworks! What is going on?

Alex - Its Halloween.

Eve - Still learning the lingo over here. Translation please.

Alex - You know, All Hallows Eve.

Eve - (thinks back) The Celts used to celebrate that as Samhain. (realizes what's happening) This is the night when the boundaries between the worlds of the living and dead become blurred, when the dead are able to commune with the living

Alex - (nods) And its not just worlds of the living and the dead. Ghost, spirits, demons from all realms are able to enter this world on Halloween! The regular folk don't know how dangerous it gets. These days its mostly about parties and fun. But it's chaos. Craig and I have been going out for the past few years trying to protect people. Mostly it's misdirection and interference but when we've had to take demons head on . . . we've had a more than a few near misses where we've had to run or be killed ourselves (sighs as she thinks back) I dread it every year.

Eve - Well this year you have me to help.

Alex - No, not this time.

Eve - What do you mean? Why not?

Alex - (sighs in anger) Craig was supposed to have talked this over with you. Eve, you're not from this time.

Eve - So?

Alex - When we brought you here, we were taking you out of time, out of place, technically you don't belong here.

Eve looks taken aback. She turns away hurt.

Alex - Oh crap! I didn't mean it like that. I just mean, that you're vulnerable tonight. There are weak points of entry, all over the city, all over the world, where demon and spirits can enter. When it gets past midnight those portals draw back anything that isn't supposed to be here. You could get sucked into one.

Eve - But you need my help!

Alex - We've gotten by without you before. We'll do it again. Its just safer for you if you stay at the loft tonight.

Eve looks annoyed but doesn't say anything. She goes back to painting

Alex - And to make sure you stay there, we're having Jeff come by to stay with you!

Eve - Jeff!? Lt. Morrison!? You can't be serious!

Alex - Both Craig and I know you would try and slip out so you could help us.

Eve - Its not just you! There are innocents out there who need my help.

Alex - That's right and we need you to stick around so you can continue to help them. For their future safety please don't go putting your own in jeopardy.

Eve - I could take Jeff out in a second

Alex - (calls her bluff) Really? You'd hurt a good and innocent man who was just trying to do us a favor?

Eve -(frustrated) No I wouldn't! But this is ridiculous! You don't know I'll be in danger

Alex - When it comes to supernatural forces nothing is certain. Talk to Craig. He brought it up and arranged the whole thing with Jeff. I don't know about you but I tend to trust Craig when it comes to this sort of thing.

Eve - (sighs and relents) All right I'll stay at the loft.

Perturbed, Eve goes back to painting. Fade to the underworld. Fire spouts from the ground and fades revealing Lucifer on his throne. He is sitting there looking pensive as if he were listening to the conversation the whole time.

Lucifer - I am bound to this realm for eternity. I cannot even enter the world of man during the one night of year when forces of the universe are weak and in chaos. No, it is only through the sins of man can the world become tainted enough that I can ascend. It was coming so close. But forces have shifted! Eve the Messenger of Eli has risen!! She is the one who could bring all my plans to ruin! But tonight there may be a chance to get rid of her indefinitely.

He stands up

Lucifer - DEMONS! HEAR ME NOW! I BID YOU ALL SAFE PASSAGE THROUGH THE REALMS TO THE LIVING WORLD. BRING ME SOULS! SOW SEEDS OF DESTRUCTION! AND BRING ME THE HEAD OF THE MESSENGER!!

The demons all gather round Lucifer's throne bowing at his feet.

Lucifer - We have been nothing more than myth and legend for centuries, its time The Messenger of Light know the same fate!

In the kitchenette Alex and Eve are cleaning off the paintbrushes when Craig just walks on in.

Eve - I should get a lock for that thing. Have either of you heard of knocking?

Craig - Well, hello to you too! Nice to see you out and about Alex. Back to normal?

Alex - Normal? Ha! I don't think I'll ever be normal again. (becomes serious) But I'm on your side. Always

Craig - (smiles) Good. And did you settle everything with the hospital?

Alex - Yes. I covered my tracks . . . wove some really tangled webs but I think they bought it.

Craig - Good to hear. By they way, did you know there are a bunch of boxes just sitting at the front door?

Alex - Oh crap! The dishes!

Alex runs out of the room. Eve just grins and continues cleaning the brushes. Craig stands there and watches.

Craig - So . . . Eve what are you doing tonight?

Eve - (doesn't look up from cleaning the brushes) I haven't made any plans. Why?

Craig -(leans against the wall that was just painted) Oh . . .um . . .you know . . . .just . . . wondering

Eve- (starts to have a little fun)Actually I was thinking maybe I'd go to a party tonight! Alex told me about all these great costume parties! I don't know what its about but it sounds fun!

Craig - (shocked) You can't!

Eve - (acting innocent) Why not?

Craig - Cause . . .you know, . . .its . . .there's things . . .

Eve - You're a terrible liar! Alex told me about Halloween and how its dangerous for me tonight

Craig - I meant to talk to you about it.

Eve - Really? Would that have been before or after Jeff just popped in to say hi?

Craig - (sighs)You have a stubborn streak in you Eve. I didn't know how you would take it if I just told you to stay home on what is the most dangerous night of the year for demon hunters.

Eve - I should be out there with you! No matter the consequence!!

Craig - No matter the consequence?! Eve, you could get sucked into a new world, a new realm of existence or worse a hell realm overrun with demons!

Eve - Tell me about the spell you used! Maybe there's a loop hole! There's nothing to say I'll be dragged into one of those portals just because I'm from the past.

Craig - Its not just the portals Eve. Lucifer knows you're in this time and he is trying to get rid of you. All demons will be on the lookout for you. You can't protect others if you're running for your life. (looks at Eve who is just shaking her head at the whole idea) Eve please, if you won't stay at the loft for your own safety at least do it for the people of this world. Without you the world would be ready for Lucifer to take over

Eve - I could send those demons back to the underworld though so they won't take any souls tonight. I could protect a lot of people!

Craig - And you do help people Eve but you can't just think about immediate gains. Real change takes time. We need you for more than just one night of the year.

Eve - Fine! Yes. I'll stay at the loft tonight.

Craig - Thank you.

Eve - Oh and Craig, the wall you're leaning against was just painted.

Craig straightens up quickly and looks at the paint all down the side of him.

Craig - Ah Hell!

Cut to underworld

Lucifer - I can feel it! I can feel the realms merging.

Across from him Lucifer we see a portal open and we see a lush green park with children running around. A demon runs over intending to go through but instead he bounces off the portal like he ran in to a wall.

Lucifer - FOOL! The portal is not yet open but soon you will be able to pass freely. And I promise you free reign for eternity if you can destroy the Messenger!

Fade to the loft. We see the sun setting turning the sky pink and blue. We now see we are looking through a window as we see Eve's reflection.

Eve - I won't let you win Lucifer. This is my time. You will not gain any ground tonight. And tomorrow I will work twice as hard to stop you for good!

Cut to scenes of Alex and Craig strapping on knives, swords, crosses, wooden stakes, and cross bows.

Cut to Alex's back as she pulls on a long black over coat and turns around

Alex - Ugh! I hate Halloween. Every year I feel like a walking weapon.

Eve - Alex, you're related to the god of war. You are a walking weapon.

Alex - (smiles smugly as her hands glow blue) Is it weird that I'm kinda looking forward to putting my powers to the test tonight.

Craig - (grimaces)It is slightly masochistic. But believe it or not I'm actually less worried tonight than I have been in years. (looks to Eve) With Alex's new powers and you staying safe I'm confident we can get through this night with no casualties.

Alex - I just want to get through this night period

Eve - I just wish you would have had Ares stay with me. Then I wouldn't have to feel bad if I had to kick his butt to get out of here.

Alex - (mockingly)"Kick his butt?"

Craig - She's starting to sound like you!

Alex - (scoffs) Get real! She sounds like she's 10!

Eve scowls at Alex as there is a knock at the door. Craig walks over to open it. It's Lt Jeff Morrison

Craig - Thanks for coming by Jeff. I know its an imposition but I'd feel a lot better if Eve had a little protection tonight.

Eve rolls her eyes as Jeff walks in and look around. He is skeptical

Jeff - Are you sure Eve is in danger? There was no evidence that those gun runners were part of the mafia.

Craig - Eve's testimony against those thugs put them away and uncovered a larger operation. To say she ruffled a few feathers is an understatement. I swear that we've been watched these last few weeks. There have been more than a few unsavory people hanging around the loft and Alex's new business. Right Alex?

Alex - (looks up from what's she's doing) Uh, Yes.

Craig - (tries to cover Alex's unconvincing corroboration) Maybe I'm over reacting but I'd just feel better knowing Eve had someone in her corner tonight while Alex and I are out.

Jeff - And she couldn't come with you . . . (gestures to Craig confused) to where ever you're going tonight

Craig - (looks down at himself decked out in leather) Uh yeah. We're heading to my parents neighborhood. My Mom roped us into being part of the neighborhood watch. Its mostly just stopping kids from setting off fire works or teepeeing houses but if Eve is being watched I don't want to introduce that element to a relatively safe neighborhood. You said I should call you first if I ever had a feeling that something bad was going to happen!

Jeff - I know what I said! (sighs) Your instincts are usually right, and if you're worried then maybe there is something to be worried about. I'll stay here with Eve just in case.

Craig - I appreciate it Jeff. So does Eve. (looks to Eve) Right?

Eve - Uh huh. Oh yeah.

Jeff - (sourly) You're welcome. (looks to Alex confused) Are you supposed to be in costume? You look like Steven Segall!

Alex - (sarcastic) And here I was going for Trinity from The Matrix. You think it will be enough to scare the kids off vandalizing?

Jeff - I think you're enough to scare anyone off of anything!

Alex - (smiles) That's sweet. Thanks

Alex heads out with Craig following behind chucking!

Craig - See you! Thanks again Jeff

Eve - You kids don't stay up too late now

Craig - (looks back annoyed before closing the door behind him.) You're hanging around Alex too much.

Alex and Craig leave

Eve - (props her feet up on the coffee table as she smiles at Jeff) Make yourself at home.

Fade to Hell. In the dark red realm Lucifer stands in the middle. Around him portal after portal materializes and shimmers. Earth is now accessible!

Lucifer - It's time!

Pan around as a legion of demons stand before Lucifer

Lucifer - GO! GO NOW MY DEMONS! BRING ME THE HEAD OF THE MESSENGER!!

Lucifer spreads his hands wide as the legions of demons run through the portals ready to wreak havoc on New York!

COMMERCIAL

Fade in to the park where a portal opens up and several demons walk out.

Cut to a wooded area. Craig and Alex are walking around being cautious. They see a demon about to attack a woman.

Craig - Hey!

Demon turns around and Craig uses his cross bow to shoot an arrow right in to it's chest. It falls down dead.

Alex - Not even two minutes they're out and they're attacking. Why can't we, for once, fight demons who procrastinate.

Cut to Loft:

Eve sits looking twitchy. She gets up looks out the window then paces, looks out the window then sits down again.

Jeff - Are you okay?

Eve - Um, yeah, sure. Do you want a beer? I think Alex keeps some in the fridge (goes over to the kitchen)

Jeff - I don't drink!

Eve - (stops short)Oh! Well then how about some tea? I'll make some tea!!

Jeff - (gets up and follows Eve to the kitchen) You're really worried about the mafia coming after you aren't you?

Eve- Uh. . .

Jeff - Don't worry. I've got my gun on me and I know the escape routes of this place. I promise to keep you safe. And I can have a whole squad of police here in a second in case of an attack. I'm glad Craig told the police this time so we could look after you instead of going vigilante

Eve- (turns around to turn the kettle on and mutters)And here I thought he was a bad liar

Jeff - What?

Eve - Oh nothing!

Cut to the streets:

Three demons walk out of the bushes and begin to follow a group of children and their parents. They just about reach them when Alex throws herself at them and takes all three of them down in one tackle. She gets up and quickly takes a sword out of her jacket and decapitates all three. The group of parents and children keep on walking not noticing anything that just happened behind them

Cut to loft:

Eve hands Jeff a steaming cup of tea.

Eve - You know Jeff, Craig was probably over reacting. I don't want to hold you up! You probably had plans or something.

Jeff - A long time ago maybe but these days its more likely I'd be at my sister's handing out candy. At least here I feel like I'm doing something useful.

Eve - (grimaces)You don't say.

Cut to Park:

Craig is being strangled by a demon. Craig sticks a knife in it's chest and twists it. The demon lets go. As the demon tries to get the knife out Craig brings out a sword and slices the demons head off.

Cut to loft:

Eve - I didn't know you had a sister.

Jeff - Yeah. Just the one. What about you? Any siblings?

Eve - Well, one but I never met him. My brother died before I was born. And then my mother . . . gave me up and I became a ward of the court

Jeff - I had no idea you were in foster care!

Eve - (realized what she said and sees how Jeff misunderstood) I guess but it might be a little bit different here from where I was raised.

Jeff - You know, I just realized, I don't know anything about you. Craig always talks about the great things you're doing or going to do but that's all I know.

Eve - I don't really like talking about my past. I wasn't always a good person. I want my actions now to define who I am.

Jeff - Rough time in foster care?

Eve - (lightly scoffs) You could say that.

Cut to a wooded area:

Alex charges at three demons. She jumps up high and kicks one in the chest sending it flying back. She then punches the two demons that are left. They are unaffected and begin to advance. Alex sends are blue wave of electricity, electrocuting the demons to dust.

Alex collapses to her knees, drained of energy for a moment

Alex - (pants) Okay. Note to self, don't try that again.

Cut back to the loft:

Eve - You know, all the best tutors and training could never make up for the complete lack of love.

Jeff - Best tutors and training?

Eve - (not realizing what she said) I had . . .

Jeff - You had a lot more then any of the foster kids here ever had.

Eve - I didn't mean . . .

Jeff - I know kids in the foster system. Not the ones who make it through with good families and become healthy productive members of society. I know the products of a broken system, those who've been abused, shipped around from family to family thinking they're unwanted, and those who are thrown out expected to survive on barely anything just because they turned eighteen.

Eve - (stunned, trying to find her voice) I guess I did have it better than most. I never truly appreciated it until just now. It didn't feel that way at the the time though. It's hard to when people take an interest in you . . . (thinks back to her past) and end up using you to further their own ends.

Jeff - (concerned)What does that mean?

Eve - (gets up and moves to the balcony) Please Jeff, I don't want to talk about this anymore!

Cut to the streets:

Two demons are prowling an alley. Craig aims his cross bow and shoots both of them with arrows. They are unaffected but they turn their attention to Craig and begin to charge.

Craig - Crap!

Craig is then grabbed from behind by another demon. Craig pushes the demon against the wall and lifts himself up to kick to the two demons in the face. Suddenly the two demons are struck by fire balls. Another fire ball hits the demon that has grabbed Craig. The demon is fried but Craig ends up getting singed in the process.

Craig - Owe!! (looks up and sees Alex) That hurt!

Alex - (grimaces) Sorry!

Cut back to the loft.

Eve walks out on to the balcony and takes a few calming breathes. She wraps her arms around her and shivers against the cool autumn air. Jeff walks out to join her

Jeff - I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you

Eve - I just don't like talking about my past. Like I said. I wasn't a good person. I did terrible things. But now, I want to do good things. I want to help people.

Jeff - I get it. I wasn't always a good person either. I didn't care about anyone or anything. I hurt myself and hurt the people I love. When I finally got myself straight I decided to become a cop. I wanted to serve and protect this city.

Eve - Isn't it dangerous? I mean, I know what I faced against Raven and her followers and those gang members. . . but I can't imagine what its like for you facing that everyday

Jeff - Well, its not always that exciting but there are dangerous situations. There are bad people out there who need to be stopped and innocent people who need to be protected. We believe in that so much, even though any day could be our last.

Eve - How do law keepers do it? How can you go out every day knowing you might not survive it?

Jeff - (confused) It's the job. If you don't fight for today, you might not have tomorrow.

Cut to street:

Alex is being attacked by a demon. She manages to kick it down but then two demons tackle her

Cut to loft out on the balcony:

Eve and Jeff hear a commotion coming from below. A demon is attacking a woman!

Eve - NO! GET AWAY FROM HER!!

Eve makes a move to jump off the balcony but Jeff grabs her and holds her back!

Jeff - What are you doing?

The demon turns out of be a man who lets go of the woman as he rips off his mask. Eve looks at him in shock. The woman hits him and runs off. The man looks up and sneers.

Man - Screw you bitch!!

Jeff - Hey! Watch it!

The man makes a lewd gesture and runs off.

Eve lets out a relieved sigh. She shakes her and makes a decision.

Eve - I've got to get out of here!

Cut to the park:

Craig is using his sword to battle a demon but the demon grabs the sword from Craig throwing it away before kicking Craig down

Cut back to the loft:

Eve runs back into the loft and runs to put on her boots.

Jeff - What are you talking about? Where are you going?

Eve - Helping my friends today so there is a tomorrow! For all of us.

Jeff - (runs to head off Eve at the door) Hey, look, I don't know what's going on but I promised Craig I'd keep you safe. I can't let you go out there

Eve - You don't understand. I know Alex and Craig are in trouble and I need to help them!

Cut back to Craig

Craig somersaults backwards. He is able to get right side up but when he looks up he sees the demon's fist coming at his head

Cut to loft:

Jeff - What if I call the police? I can send someone to help them.

Eve - (sighs) Jeff. I'm really sorry.

Jeff - For what?

Eve - For this

Eve punches Jeff in the face send him flying back to land on his side. He is unconscious

Eve - (winces)I really am so sorry.

Eve grabs her chakram then runs out to find Alex and Craig

COMMERCIAL

Fade in to wooded area where Craig is being punched down by a demon

Demon - Where is the Messenger?

Out of nowhere a chakram bounces off a tree then a rock then slices the demons head off sending green goo flying everywhere. The chakram sails back to Eve as she catches it gracefully

Craig gets up, slightly covered in green goo and wide eyed at Eve's sudden appearance

Craig - Eve! What are you doing here? You should be at the loft!

Eve - You know, when someone saves your life the polite thing to do is to say thank you.

Craig - (grabs her hand) Come on we have to get you back to the loft before any other demons realize you're out and around

Craig and Eve run through the park to the street where they find demons attacking teenagers. They stop when they see Eve. They all turn toward her. Eve pushes Craig back in to the park. She then runs up one demon kicking it in the face and on the backflip kicks another demon in the chest. Eve then does a splits in the air kicking two demons down. She then kicks another demon in the crotch. He growls in pain. Eve then uses her chakram to slice at the demons jugular then kicks him down. Another demon comes up behind her to grab her but Craig shoots an arrow into the demons chest.

Craig - Eve! Catch!

Craig throws a sword to Eve. She catches it and slices the remaining demons heads off.

They run around the corner to see demons hitting at someone. They can't tell who it is. Eve and Craig run over to try and help the person until she electrocutes several of them. She then picks one up and throws it into a portal back to hell. It's Alex. She sees Eve and Craig.

Alex -(panicked look spreads across her face) Get Eve out of here! This area is full of portals!!

Alex is suddenly pushed out of the way by two demons and Craig is picked up by the neck and thrown into another demon who restrains him.

Eve kicks a demon down to the ground but is attacked from behind by a horned demon. The horned demon picks her up above it's head. A visual portal opens. It's covered in blue lights and mist and swirls around before flashing back to several points in the past before showing the pantheon in Greece. The demon throws Eve at the portal but she just bounces off the portal and lands on the ground like she hit a wall.

Craig -(stops struggling) What?

Eve acts quickly and kicks the confused demon in the stomach. She propels her self up by her legs and round house kicks the demon. She then grabs the sword from the ground and sliced the demon right up the middle. Craig recovers from his shock and flips the demon over him and throws the demon into a hell portal. Eve and Craig both grab the other demon and flip him over before kicking him into the hell portal. They look over to Alex who snaps the head of one demon and electrocutes the other demon who tackled her.

Alex -(she looks to Eve in shock) Eve!?(smiles) You . . . You're still here!(Gets a confused look on her face). I thought for sure you were going to be sucked into that portal

Eve - But I wasn't.

Craig - Yeah, but why?

The visual portals begin flickering. A slight breeze picks up!

Eve - What's happening?

Craig - Its after midnight! The portals begin to draw in anything that does not belong to the earthly realm.

Alex - I guess we can head back to the loft. The demons won't be attacking anymore. If they don't go back to their realms willingly they get sucked back in anyway.

Craig - By the way. What happened to Jeff? I know he didn't just let you come out here.

Eve - Uh . . . He kinda doesn't know. I hit him so he's . . .not . . .awake right now.

Alex - Ouch!

Craig - (rolls his eyes annoyed)Thank you for helping me out of a mess Eve but you may have just gotten me into a bigger one! Let's get back to the loft. I have a lot of explaining to do!

Cut to Loft:

Alex Eve and Craig run in and they find Jeff on the floor where Eve left him

Alex - You couldn't even move him to the couch?

Craig and Eve pick up Jeff and move him to the couch. Alex gives Eve a cloth and ice pack to put over his eye

Craig - We need to think up some excuse as to why he has a black eye

Alex looks over to a side table by the couch and pushes it over smashing the lamp.

Alex - We'll say he tripped

Jeff - (groans) I tripped over what?

Eve - (relieved)You're awake!

Jeff - Yeah, what happened?

Eve - Oh . . . well, you see . . .

Jeff - You were trying to leave. We were arguing over it!

Eve - You're right we did. When I tried to leave you ran over to stop me but . . .

Alex - (interjects) That's when you tripped over the coffee table and banged your eye

Jeff - I did? I don't remember. I'm sorry, did I break anything?

Alex - Just my lamp

Jeff - Oh! I'll pay for that!

Alex - Really!?

Eve - (interjects quickly) That's not necessary! It was my fault. I was trying to leave and you were trying to stop me. I felt guilty so I stayed and looked after you until Alex and Craig came back.

Craig - Do you want us to take you to the doctor?

Jeff - No, that's okay. But I think I'll keep the ice pack. Sorry I wasn't much help being unconscious and all.

Craig - You were a big help, so thanks. You want me to drive you home?

Jeff - Yeah thanks. Just don't tell any of the guys at the station about this. They'd all laugh if they found out I got a black eye from tripping over a coffee table.

Craig and Jeff walk out the door.

Alex - Better then them finding out a girl gave him that black eye.

Cut to the next day. The sun shines through the window lighting up the whole loft.

Craig is looking in a spell book for the answer as to why Eve didn't get sucked in to the portal. Eve is in the kitchen when Alex comes in with a bag of little chocolate bars.

Alex - I hate Halloween but I love all the cheep candy the day after! (unwraps a piece of chocolate and hands it to Eve) Try this!

Eve looks at Alex confused but shrugs and pops the little chocolate in her mouth. She moans with pleasure when she tastes it.

Eve - Oh wow! (grabs another piece of chocolate unwraps it quickly and stuffs it in her mouth) Oh wow! This is so good.

Alex - (surprised) Uh yeah. Enjoy!

Craig - Ah ha! Found it!

Eve - (looks up from the chocolate) You found an answer as to why I didn't get dragged into that portal?

Craig - There's only one reason. You don't belong in the past. When I used the talisman of Eli to bring your spirit to the future, something in the spell reflected your soul back to ancient times. I didn't bring you from the past, I just brought a copy of your soul and gave you a body that has 21st century DNA. You exist both in this time and in Ancient times.

Eve - (sad) You mean I can never go back to the past?

Craig - Um . . . I'm sure a time travel spell could send you back. But you wouldn't belong there, you'd have to come back to this time eventually. Whatever this spell did, its like you never left and you have been spreading Eli's word ever since. That explains why history didn't change when I brought you here.

Alex - It looks like Eli found a way for you to fulfill your destiny in both times.

Eve - (looks out the loft window at the city) Yeah, I guess he did.

Alex - That's good isn't it?

Eve - (turns around to face Alex) It's fine. It's great. This . . . this is my time now. I can commit fully to my mission here.

Eve turns to go up to her room on the second level. Craig and Alex both looked worried as they watch her go

Alex - We didn't totally screw up the balance on the universe. What is she upset about? That's a win right?

Craig - Alex . . . I just told her she can never go home again. . . how would you feel? She's going to need some time to adjust to this.

Alex - Adjust? She looked like she just shut down.

Craig - She'll be fine. She just needs a little time.

Alex - I hope you're right. I also hope this doesn't cost us in the long run.

Craig - Me too.
