When I started watching "The X-Files" back in March of this year with the episode "Three Words," it seemed natural that I would write fan fiction for it. I've been an avid reader and writer of fanfic for such shows as "Homicide: Life on the Street," "C.S.I.," "The West Wing," "Chicago Hope" and "Sports Night." I love to write fan fiction and since I was now a true X-Phile I had to write some on the FBI's Most Unwanted.
Why write a series based around John Doggett?
Because, quite simply, I find him to be my favorite. He is much as I would be if I were in the X-Files, a little edgy, doubting, but tough, always true to himself and what's right. Plus, I seem to have a thing for that imposing stare, those blue eyes, and that smile, not to mention Robert Patrick's brilliant performances, among other things.
As with all my series, I like to add my own characters. Thus, I created the character of Special Agent Stark Patrick (last name not a coincidence), who had been Doggett's partner at the FBI before he came to the X-Files, and later joined him in the basement. The series of Napoleon's Battle Plan, named for the infamous "first we show up, then we see what happens" philosophy that could be shared by these two characters, depicts their adventures, their longstanding partnership, and their deep friendship.
Mulder and Scully fans, Skinner and Reyes fans, et cetera, don't worry - everyone has their moments as well ... contrary to popular belief I actually like everyone involved with the X-Files!
