Five Artists Kick Off the Opening of the Flushing Art League in Queens

This is the 49 year history of the Flushing Art League, their new Art Show starting from June 20th (today) is sponsored by the Amerasia Bank. Five artists show off their oil and other media artworks. There is also a sculpture as well. Yesterday the 19th was the reception. There were European style oil paintings that drew much interest from Chinese artists. The Art League's Vice President Tom Pospisil introduced the 30 members. There are three Asian artists, one of them is Tony Chan. He participated in this art show. The art league annually does an art show at the Amerasia Bank every year. And he has paintings in this show.

Many of the Asian residents in Queens have promoted the European art paintings on the important window of opportunity. Tom Pospisil says the league is showing 30 paintings and one sculpture.The five artists come from all backrounds, Chinese, Romanian, etc. There are many different countries and backrounds of these artists. There are 3 prizes in this show, 1st place 2nd place and 3rd place and cash prize for all 3. Some viewers were there to buy the artwork. The money would be used to support the art league. This event lasts until June 30th and the admission is free. The Art League Presiden is Romanian, is Judith Burnescu at the age of 79. This show she is showing 5 paintings. Many of themare landscapes and portraits. Bright color were used to create crimson that is shown in the European artwork. Amerasia Bank representive Mr. Choi was also at the reception. The Bank would annually give the community artists shows toshow there work free of charge. A Taiwanese man, Mr. Yip, who loves to draw and yesterday he came to this event. He was interested in Western and Chinese art.
