Things that make ya go "Hmmm..."!

WARNING! Attention all readers who have not completed all four books! This page contains spoilers! Having had the third book spoiled for me, I'd suggest you wait until you read all four. Its unsettling to buy a 20 dollar book and then know what will happen at each turn of a page.

Ever read something in the Harry Potter books that just made you go: "Hmmm..."? I sure have (except that some things made me say things more along the lines of "What the heck?!"... but anyways) so I've made a page to share these thought provoking treasures of the Harry Potter series with you. And I would simply love it if you shared your findings with me. I'll post it here for all to enjoy!

  • Is it just me, or does Dumbledore let Lucious Malfoy off a bit too easily in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets? I mean, think about it: Malfoy basically confessed to planting that diary in Ginny's schoolbook. He obviously knew it was full of Dark Magic. He denied none of these accusations, and Dobby tells Harry Potter at the beginning of the book that there is a plan to make terrible things happen at Hogwarts this year. Being that Dobby was the Malfoy's house elf at that time, its obvious that these plans were formulated by the Malfoys. Dumbledore knew Malfoy tried to reopen the Chamber of Secrets through an innocent litte girl... yet he let Lucius Malfoy just walk right out of his office. Hmmmmmmm...

  • In the end of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Dumbledore requests Arabella Figg among the ones to be fetched. Harry's old babysitter on Privet Drive is named Mrs. Figg. Mrs. Figg loves cats; and reasoning that Crookshanks is an animagus is becoming more and more plausible among anxious Potter fans. Piece this all together...Hmmmmmmm...
