Background:  Claire joined the US marines at the age of 18, along with
Roger
"Race" Bannon and Mark Davis.  Claire and Mark had been lovers for
several
months before joining, a fact which Race knew and guarded closely from
his
superiors. The three were close friends, Mark and Claire having known
Race
for about five years, before being approached by Captain Bennett (Now
Admiral).  The three gladly joined I-1, believing it to be a branch off
of
the standard military.  When they discovered the true nature of I-1,
they
were already too deep into the system to quit.  Claire saw I-1 as a
challenge rather than a hindrance, making no attempt to leave, as the
thrill
of impossible missions kept her on edge.  Claire's long standing
relationship with Mark was abruptly ended when he was shot by David
Barone
whilst the two were undertaking an assassination attempt.  Distraught,
Claire broke all ties with Race, in part blaming him for her lover's
death,
despite Race being in no way afilliated with the shooting.  As time
passed,
Claire's resentment developed into an outstanding hatred.  This went
unnoticed by Race, who still trusted her fully, despite repeated
warnings
from Jonny Quest.  By deceiving him, she managed to kill David Barone's
daughter, shooting Hadji Singh in the process.  This has lead to a
bitter
emnity between the two.  Barone's subsequent capture has lead to her
having
an almost fanatical devotion to killing Race, as getting to Barone has
so
far proved impossible.  She is well versed in several forms of martial
arts,
having trained with Race while in I-1.  She has a strength and ferocity
that
completely belie her slim frame, resorting to a unique mixing of shoot
wrestling, judo and savate.

Miscellaneous:  Claire is well known for almost exclusively wearing
I-1's
trademark black catsuit, though often hidden under casual wear.  She
constantly carries a concealed Model 950 Jetfire, a 4 and 3/4 inch
pistol
that weighs 15 ounces and fires 8mm caliber rounds.  This is a habit
picked
up several months after breaking contact with Race, and is therefore
unknown
to him.
