 BILHARZIA "Bloodfluke" -
Tape EP, 5 tracks Pro-recording! I am amazed with this Malaysian death
thrash metal band! This is death metal with lots of thrash
influence! The speed is in thrash structure not in brutal grinding way,
even though they have some blast beats to go with it! Tempo changes are all great,
catchy & well shifted. Even the
instrumental part (track 05: Bloodfluke) which is somewhat classic metal in
nature that I just wanna get some weed & trip on it & bang my
head sideways har har har! The vocals are growled & undecipherable.
Overall this is fucking great but the vocals sound buried beneath all
the instruments!!! Of course that doesn't really affect the musick much
but I personally just wan't to hear the vocals & growls more whether

). Their style is a mix of almost all what the underground metal scene
can offer. It's a combination of all that is out there & creating it

 ANCIENT GODS "Mystic
Lands" MCD 4 tracks. This is black metal, a regression of the
usual BM that kids would know now a days. The music is more centered on
the darkness of raw BM than the ruthless speed that some BM bands seem
to overuse. But don't get me wrong, this is aggressive as fuck! Thrashy,
controlled chaos, the technicality of BM & the evilness being evoked
which makes this worth it! Might seem like going to the basics of BM
& creating heaviness thru the medium of the drums & guitars
& of course the vocal power that would attract possession. They have
succeeded in evoking their evil hymns with a sesionist drummer

are still in their realm of uncompromising brutality of death metal. But
the sharpening of skills is noticeable. As guitars inter changing in
your ears with drums just keeps on pounding. Their speed is more
straight forward now, as if focusing on a target or a prey. Even though
the previous vocals sounds deeper, their new vocalist still delivers a

 APOPLEXY " Life, thoughts &
destiny" CD 10 tracks. Looks like a serious band with that
album title. Well, they are fucking serious in creating great catchy
death metal. Control of speed & tempo changes is awesomely done,
some tracks even seems to be inter woven. I didn't noticed that I am
already listening to another track 'coz It sounded like they just
shifted into another tempo. They got speed in a blast, melodicity &
a whirlwind of catchy tempo changes & could stop in a fucking halt.
Vocals are blurred in mid bass growl, sometimes sounds insane. <

 DECAPITATED "The Way of
Brutality"
3 tracks CD-R demo. A great progression from the Brutal Deathsters of
Davao! They still have that tight playing skill, but here they sounded
real tighter & more at ease with their style. Plus the great sound
quality! They sounded more intense & sicker than previous! The tempo
changes are also more smooth & overall musical structure is solid in
the brutal death metal way!!! I think, for now, they hold the flag as the
true brutal death metal band of this rotting country of mine! But hey,
this is just a teaser of what this guys have to offer, they will release
a full length soon & according to Ace they are continually creating

| KORIHOR "Demo 2002" Tape. Another real fucking great progression from another band in Davao! This is the Christian Annihilators in their war path!!! I remember Obispo mentioned before that they don't want to call their music Vampiric Metal or BM anymore , as not to be subjected to a genre, since I believe true evil has no real form anyway, that's great. But for musical purposes, they still play black metal! Un-compromising & necro brutal BM that is! what this is! They got catchy grind attacks with death vocals! Plus
a hoggish vocals! yeah, I don't know how they get that pig squeal sound

 KING'S EVIL "Deletion of Humanoise"
8 tracks. Not really a new band, 'coz according to their bio, they
started in 1989. Anyway, they were reborn in 1998, created a demo in
1999 then reduced their activities as some members join Ritual Carnage.
But now here is their debut album from World Chaos Production. They have
described their music Aggressive Thrash Metal in the veins of one of the
masters of that style, KREATOR. But I have to warn you, this is not a
rip off of kreator nor they sound like the newer release of Kreator
(where Kreator has wandered into a more melodic sound). KING'S EVIL is
indeed aggressive thrash infused with hate, anger & death! The vocal
gives depth to the sound & in parallel with the musical direction
making it more deadly! To those who know Kreator will of course have an
idea of the sound, yet again you could be wrong? I've heard people whine about death metal being
dead, thrash metal being dead & other crap! This is an answer to the
whiners' prayers & to all who are very much into it & waiting

 CALLAHAN "Stalking The
Unicorn" 10 tracks. By the look of the
band logo & title of the release, you might think some sort
medieval, folk, ambient metal. It is somewhat like that, heavy &
thrash oriented with even a black feel in it. Vocals are in different
mediums, blackish thin, clear goth bassy & medium range growls. Great
use of keyboards adding accent on some parts & giving some
atmosphere. This band can play in they're own melodicity, speed & a
combination of both. I like the intro track too. This is a great listen
where there are track that kinda laid you back & tracks that just

Rzeszow" 14 lives trax in CD-R where 7 songs are untitled &
6 of those untitled are new. Maybe by now, they do have titles. Anyway,
I do like what I heard from their previous stuff that Mr. Piggy
sent me last time. Now, from what I hear, they are heavier &
aggressive live even
though the quality do vary from song to song but generally clear &
good. The vocals are not too deadly, a bit crunchy husky mid range
vocals. And yeah, in some part, the vocalist really sings, & I think
he's fucking good to alternate that style with the mid growls! yet
sometimes they could sound like a hard rock techno band. But their
melodic style of death metal is really great in this live presentation! You do want to taste this don't you?? Go

tracks of Illuminating metal? According to their bio, they started in 1998
but consider 1999 as 'the real beginning' & recorded this demo in
2000. It is also stated that the lyrics are mostly based on the bible,
so I don't know if this is christian/gospel metal or in your face
blasphemy! With the lyrics all written in Polish, I can't really fucking
tell! They are musically great mixing the violin & cello with the
band playing a thrashy heaviness, yet sometimes they have that they sound
psychedelic rock band with the straight vocals. Still they could put
some catchy parts & I always like when the violin & cello play
along with the thrashy guitars riffs, no man not fucking mellow. My
complain is the straight vox, even though they have experimentations
with it, this would probably sound better. Last
track entitle 'Alleluja', mmmm I wonder what the hell is that about? I
didn't like the female vox here too & the over all music &
approach of this track. Musically good except for the last track, but for dark black

"Giallo" 13 song CD - A re-release of their previous
stuff, but the sound is a bit different. It's crispier & as raw a

can't say more about this 'coz I'm a fucking fan of this band &
corpses keeps on turning out everywhere every time I listen to their music. So for new gore fans who missed them out & to cult fans

 VINTERRIKET
Promo 2001 - 11 tracks, including a cover of Burzum. This is
a one man project/band. One would think this is just another synth
atmospheric stuff, well yes. Synth, keyboards, drum programming are used
to create a dark atmosphere that the very few are willing to wander
into. I personally do listen to this form of music that is not
truly metal in form but connected to it in the sense of darkness. All
tracks are in german. Vinterriket's sound scapes have a touch of ancient
dark feelings, but the male vocal fall short in attempting to equal
that. Is he holding something back? The guest female vocals helped a
bit. If you enjoy cold & dark atmospheres, this is for you. If the
vocal could progress & become more dark & evil, fuck! This would
be totally awesome & could become one of the best in this genre!!

musick are from all over the world & styles are of metal salad that
I like, Death, brutal death, grind death & Black Metal. Hell, I too
make compilations that's why I always luv compilations that give me this

 DYING EMBRACE "Serenades of
Depravity" - 12 track tape release. I don't know if this is a
new material from the band 'coz it seems that this release includes
either parts of whole of their other release. The tape sleeve indicates
tracks 1~3 from Grotesque ep, 4~9 from Serenades of Depravity &
10~12 from Dying Embrace demo. Anyway, this guys are from India, one of
the countries I would least expect to have a death or even just a

music is a mixture of some people would call 'old school' or the 1st
face of death, has that thrashy feel & melodic changes into a
midpaced death approach. Guitars are more into heavy metal groove w/
guitar lick prog acid trippings style. Vocals are guttural yet screechy.
You can get that amidst the not so very good recording of the tape, 'coz
what I got is a bit low even when you turn up the volume. So you really
need to push that volume!!! Don't expect to hear hindu traditional
instruments or mantra! This is totally fucking great death metal from

& other stuff. It seems that Guilty Connector is only one person

meaning, that is Blast Metal!! That's how they label their musick and it's blast blast blast!!! It is actually grinding death metal in
fluctuating mode. The drums are inhumanly programmed and 3 guitars
shreds you 3 dimensionally!! 2 vocals with a thin throaty sound like
black metallish even! and the low guttural. Try mixing grind black death
& speed metal & put that blender in hyperblast! But the
(v.2000) totally changed that. At track 4 there will be a dead silence

growl vox. Of the 9 tracks #1, 4, 6 are instrumental, actually they
sound more like intros, dark as they are. Other stuff like
samplings/effects are added to keep the darkness. They might sound
European 'coz that's where this style boomed but they are Americans! OK
you'll ask why or 12 tracks? Well, they have 12 tracks but only 9
title tracks. The 10th track is just thunders & rain, 11th &

sampler taken form their full length "Volven". I enjoy the 1st track, sounds a bit celtic & shamanistic! Beautiful I would
say, like a music from the ancient times...but the 2nd? Fuck it!!! It
sounded like techno shit disco crap!!! There is a conflict of interest
there, a filthy desecration of the 1st track!!! This makes me think, is
