*Who is offering the class?
-ASP Associated Students of Psychology CLUB
-We are mostly senior psychology students who addressed the need for academic support within the student body for all psychology majors so we started a new psychology club
- created with you in mind: the sum of our experiences as transfer and incoming students into a major gave us ground for our de cal class as well as other
- academic services which will make you a more successful and happier student
-study groups, peer counseling, mentoring and much more
*Why a de cal class about the psychology major?
-Because the psychology major rocks
-Because we want you to have the best time you possibly can as psychology major
-Because intelligence alone is not enough, having an insiders track will afford you maximum success and this class will provide that for you
*Why a de cal class for new psych and transfer students?
-Because you made it to the one of the most impacted majors at Cal
- That means you rock (together with our major)
- We want you to keep rocking: if you are a transfer student - Cal is a huge change, you are about to learn a unique student culture with its own demands and rules, in two short years
-If you are incoming psych major, things also change, you now belong to a new place within Cal which now more than ever defines its challenges
-In either case: things change and when things change we all can use some guidance and practice, to keep those good grades in our basket we address the specific needs of our major to make your admission to the psychology major a welcoming experience
*Should I take your de cal class if I am not psychology major yet?
- Yes, intended majors are welcomed
- Being "in the know" is the one of the most important things at cal
-Knowing about the major you are thinking of is a great advantage
-Defining your student identity and sharpening your study skills is always, always, always smart thing to do at Cal
- Meeting the people you will be working with for the next few years will help you feel more comfortable
-And if you are even considering this de cal class: you rock too

What will we study?
-Above all we will study successful study strategies to prepare you for the demands of the psychology major
- Study skills will be geared specifically towards psychology major and the classes within our major
-So that you can find your place within 600 other undergrad psych students
-Recognize your strengths within your new community and Keep rocking

*When and where can I sign up?
- all the information will be posted on the official de call class web page www.OCF.berkeley.edu/~decal/
- if you are not familiar with de cal culture, at the above web page you can find all the information about the de cal classes
- de cal classes usually start few weeks after the regular school session begins, but keep looking for our class as soon as school starts, we will make all the arrangements for the information to be posted as soon as possible
- you can also stop by 3330 Tolman Hall where the office of ASP is open for your questions and concerns
