Buffy: “Hey, Ken, wanna see my impression of Gandhi?”
After having to kill Angel to save the world, Buffy couldn't stand being the Slayer anymore and left Sunnydale to start a new life in L.A. She finds a job in a diner and tries to forget the events of the past few years, until a girl she saved in the past recognizes her. When Lily comes asking her for help, Buffy can't fight her Slayer instincts. This whole thing makes her realize that she can't run away from who she is.
Joyce: “So, is this a typical day at the office?”
To welcome Buffy back in Sunnydale, the Scoobies decide to throw her a party. But Buffy feels like they've been avoiding her and she's way out of the loop. She might not be completely wrong. Her friends are secretly a little angry with her for leaving them like that, without a word. But it only takes a bunch of zombies crashing the party to mend the broken relationship.
Buffy: “Giles, look, I've got makeup tests to pass, missing people in Sunset Ridge, and a zesty new Slayer to feed. Next time I kill Angel, I'll video it. (Is there any way to pre-order that tape..?)
There's a new girl in town. Faith. And there's just something about her. Actually, there's a big thing about her: She's a Slayer. The one that was called after Kendra's death. But she quickly starts grating on Buffy's nerves as she seems to be taking over her life. Her friends love her, her mom loves her, even the guy who was interested in Buffy seems to be attracted to Faith now. Oh no, Buffy doesn't like that girl at all!
Oz: “Okay. Uh, you know that thing where you bail in the middle of an upsetting conversation? I have to do that. It's kinda dramatic, I know, but... sometimes, it's a necessary guy thing.”
A student was found dead and everything seems to be pointing towards Oz. But when Buffy comes across Angel during patrol and doesn't know what to think. Not only has her former lover came back from Hell, but he seems to be in surviving on instincts. He's in an animal state. Now, she has to find out who killed that student and she's hoping it's neither Oz, nor Angel. But what's her surprise when the most loving couple on the campus is having problems of the demon kind. It's conjugal violence taken to the extreme.
CORDELIA: “See, in the end, Buffy's just the runner-up. *I'm* the Queen. You get me mad, what do you think I'm gonna do to you?”
Cordelia is competing for Homecoming Queen, and it makes Buffy nostalgic by reminding her of her days of glory as the Queen of Hemery High. To prove Cordelia that she can be popular too, Buffy enters the competition. But things get out of control between the two girls, forcing their friends to take sides. To try to fix things between to two wanna be Queen, the Scoobies arrange for them to be alone in the limo that was supposed to take them to the dance. But the limo doesn't take the two girls to the dance... It drops them off in the woods where they are politely invited to participate in Slayer fest. A hunting game intended for Buffy and Faith and organized by the new vilain in town, Mr. Trick.
Buffy: “So, Ethan, what are we playing? We're pretty much in a talk-or-bleed situation. Your call.”
Ethan Rayne strikes again. Now, he decided to leave the Halloween costumes business, and to recycle himself into the chocolate bar making instead. But is candy bars couldn't be just regular, innocent candy bars, of course. A special ingredient in them gives every adults in town, the mental age of a sixteen years old and Buffy has to stop the distribution before things get too out of control.
Cordelia: “Excuse me? When your last steady killed half the class, and then your rebound guy sends you a dump-o-gram? It makes a girl shy.”
The Watcher's Council send Faith her new watcher. She's almost too good to be true. She even manages to crack Faith's shield in very little time, which is almost a miracle. But Faith's new watcher has an agenda of her own and does some research on the side. She turns out to be a rogue watcher who's after the legendary Glove of Myhnegon. That's nothing to help Faith with her trust issues...
Spike: “*I* may be love's bitch, but at least *I'm* man enough to admit it. “
Our darling Spike is back in town... alone. Him and Dru broke up and he's willing to do anything, and I do mean anything to get her back. Drunk out of his mind, he stumbles in the magic shop, hoping to find something to help him. What he finds is "someone". Willow. When he sees that she knows a little bit about magic he "asks" her to help him, by kidnapping her and Xander. After ruining everybody's relationship in Sunnydale, Spike goes back to Dru with renewed faith in love.
Willow: “That's right, Puppy... Willow's gonna make you bark.”
Cordelia does the unthinkable. She wishes to a vengeance demon (Anya) that Buffy never came to Sunnydale. Really, really bad thing to do. She quickly realize it herself. Everything is different. There's a curfew, people dress in gray not to attract vampires, Willow and Xander are vampires... and oh my good, she doesn't have a car (that has got to be the worst thing to ever happen to Queen C) Giles is still there though. Let's just hope he can do something to fix it.
THE FIRST: “I am the thing the darkness fears. You'll never see me, but I am everywhere. Every being, every thought, every drop of hate.“
It's Christmas. Angel is having some major problems as people he killed in his past come back to haunt him, threatening to make him lose his mind and pushing him to kill Buffy. The Slayer discovers what's hunting Angel, The First Evil. It's the same entity that brought him back from Hell. But overwhelmed by guilt, he decides to put an end to his unlife. Unfortunately, Buffy doesn't approve of the idea.
Snyder: “I love the smell of desperate librarian in the morning.”
When two young children are found dead in a park, Joyce takes it more personal than she should. She decides to start campaigning to ride the town of its evil... Demons, witches... Slayer. Her new attitude can only be caused by something Hellmouthy, but what? Will the Scoobies be in time to save Buffy, Willow and Amy from being burned alive by their own parents?
Oz: “It's not so girlie. Ice is cool! It's water, but it's not.”
It's Buffy's eighteen birthday. Will it be as bad as last year? Hard to top that, but it does come close. This time, the Watcher's council put her through a test. They take back her Slayer powers for 24h and put her through a test to see if she's clever enough to survive. Of course, the test gets out of control and her mom gets kidnapped in the process. Happy birthday Buff!
Buffy: “Do you remember the demon that almost got out the night I died?”
Oh Xander. Xander, Xander, Xander. What would we do without you? The Xandman gets in trouble again. This time he makes new friends… of the undead kind. Xander the demon magnet. Nothing new here. But when they want to make him one of them, being alive kinda gets in the way. But can you blame him for being a bit reluctant to be “part of the gang”?
FAITH: “When are ya gonna get this, B? Life for a Slayer is very simple: want... take... Have.”
Now that Giles is no longer Buffy’s official watcher, the Council send her a new one. Wesley Wyndam-Pryce. Pompous, arrogant, by-the-book. Everything that would automatically clash with the Slayer’s personality. Rebelling, Buffy turns to Faith and together, the two Slayers have a blast. Until it ends dramatically when Faith stakes a human being. A man working for the Mayor.
Faith: “You sent your boy to kill me. He's dust… I guess that means you have a job opening.”
Faith Is sinking. She did something no Slayer should ever do: She killed a human being. And she’s not willing to face the consequences of her action, going as far as lying to everybody and blaming it on Buffy. Her backstabbing hurts Buffy but luckily, her friends know her enough to doubt Faith. But despite Faith’s bad attitude, Buffy knows she’s in trouble and nothing good will come of her denial, and she still wants to help her. Who better than Angel understands what the dark haired Slayer is going through. He knows the power of the first kill, and won’t let Faith get addicted to it.
Evil Willow: “This world's no fun.”
The newly human Anyanka isn’t happy. She wants her powers back by any mean necessary. To do so, she asks Willow to help her with a spell, leaving out the real purpose of her spell. The result isn’t what they would have expected. It brings vamp Willow from the Wishverse, into their own reality. But when the gang comes face to face with vamp Willow, they all assume the worse.
Angel: “Morning, sleepyhead. You know what I just can't believe? All of our time together and we never tried chains. Well, can't dwell on the past, especially with the future we have ahead.”
Faith found herself a new family and her new daddy will do anything to make her happy, and give her anything. And if what she wants is Angelus, well so be it. The mayor asks help from a demon to steal Angel’s soul, hoping that this way, not only will Faith have her vamp, but he will have one more player on his team. That’s underestimating Buffy and her friends though. The mayor and Faith are easily fooled by Buffy and Angel, and the gang finally get the information they needed about the mayor’s plans.
GILES “I'm glad to see you've recovered from your psychic encounter more or less intact. Feel up to some training?”
After a night of Slaying, Buffy gets infected by a demon. The consequence is that she will acquire one particular trait of the demon. Really worried about what she'll get from the nasty looking thing, she end up being able to hear everybody's thoughts. Sounds cool, but it can become a major problem when you hear the entire town's thoughts! Could drive you insane if nobody finds a cure...
Snyder: “You. All of you. Why couldn't you be dealing drugs like normal people?”
Operation “retrieve big box full of mystical spiders” end up badly when one of the Scoobies doesn’t return. The gang now have the mystical box necessary for the ascension and by keeping it, could stop anything from ever happening, but the Mayor has Willow. Never would the Scoobies abandon one of theirs, even for an easy way out of an apocalypse, no matter what Wesley has to say about it.
Cordelia: “Yeah, neato. Now you can run along and tell all of your friends how Cordy finally got hers. How she has to work part time just to get a lousy prom dress on layaway. And how she has to wear a name tag. Oh, I'm a name tag person. Don't leave that out. The story just wouldn't have the same punch.”
A Slayer can’t get a break, not even on Prom night. Now, not only did her lousy boyfriend tell her he’s leaving town and refuse to go to her prom with her, but to top everything, some loser decided it would be fun to program some Helldogs to attack the prom and kill everybody. But once again, Buffy proves that she can handle everything thrown at her by getting rid of the Helldogs AND going to the prom looking fresh and pretty. Too bad her sorryass soon to be ex showed up. If it was just for me, Angel would have been burning in hell for many years now :-)
Wesley: “This is mutiny.”
Desperate to distract Buffy from stopping the ascension, Faith does the smart thing. She might be evil, but she’s good at it. She poison stupidest Angel. With Angel dying, the priorities switch and the whole gang start researching a cure. And they find one. Only problem is, it requires the blood of a Slayer. Buffy has reached the point of no return and she’s ready to do it: kill a human. She goes after Faith but even with her last breath, the rogue slayer taunt Buffy and pisses her off by jumping off the building and into a truck... That will take her, and her blood, away from Buffy. Sorry Angel.
Oz: "Guys take a moment to deal with this: - we survived."
Angel’s ass is safe thanks to Buffy’s blood (nearly drained her. No control. Stupid jerk), Faith is in a coma, and the mayor is ready for his ascension. But Buffy won’t admit defeat yet. After a brainstorming with her friends, and some help from Anya, she finally comes up with the battle plan. And what a battle! Lets just say the final fire works was the only thing that could end three years at Sunnydale High.
