Awakening:
Becoming aware of otherkin. Could include becoming aware that oneself as some sort of otherkin. Awakening can come in stages, all at once or gradually over a lifetime. It can mean remembering things from previous lives, realizing what one is or acknowledging the fact that there are kin. Someone who awakens generally goes through several stages; research, denial and acceptance. Some people are born aware and some are not. There is no set time period in which someone awakens, it could happen at anytime. Generally most awaken in their teenage years.

Bloodletting:
The act of cutting someone for the purpose of drawing/drinking blood.

Catalyst:
Someone (awakened Kin) who causes important changes in people and the world around them.

Chi:
Chinese word for energy or life force.

Court:
Name of meetings held by vampire covens. Mostly a Sanguinarium term.

Coven:
A particular group of vampires. Also known as houses, sects etc.

Donor:
Someone who donates blood/energy to a vampire.

Elder:
A person who is well knowledged about vampirism and a good leader/teacher.

Empathy:
The ability to feel another's emotions as if they were your own.

Family:
Used to describe one's kinship with fellow vampires. Also used to describe one's friends and members of a household/coven.

Feeding:
Drawing energy to sustain one's need.

Latent:
Used to describe someone who is unawakened.

Lifestyler:
One who lives a lifestyle thought to be vampiric, most often taken out of fictional/hollywood vampires.

Magick:
Used by many people (pagans/wiccans/Satanists and many others) to manipulate energy.

Mundane:
Derogatory word used to label someone who is non-vamp or kin.

Prana:
Sanskrit word for energy or life force.

Psionics:
The manipulation of prana, by usings one's mind and will.

Psychic:
Used to describe non-sanguinary vampires, also a person who has "6th sense" abilities ie clairvoyancy, telekenesis.

Roleplayer/RPG:
Someone who plays Dungeons and Dragons, Vampire the Masquerade. Generally used to label someone who claims to be a vampire but taken straight from White Wolf games.

Sanguinarium:
Large vampiric community founded by Father Todd and based out of New York.

Sanguinarian:
A vampire who drinks blood. AKA Sanguine.

Vampire:
Term used to describe a person who has a need to exchange energy with an outside source.
