Located in suburban Philadelphia. Haverford State Hospital was first built in 1964, Expanding 240-acre's of property, was originally known as "Haverford Hilton" boasting bowling alleys and privite rooms for patients. in the 1970's the conditions of the hospital had declined. Overcrowding meant that patients might sleep in hallways or dayrooms. Many of the patients were kept in restraints and very heavily drugged and sometimes even subjected to shock treatment as a form of punishment. In 1997 Pennsylvania announced that the hospital would be closing its door of June 1998. The entire hospital would be cleaned out of everything and employees were told to go home. Nothing remains, except some empty lonesome buildings. If you have any questions feel free to email me or you can catch me on aim - PoncyInByberry
