About our Unit. . . .The 7th Illinois Cavalry is a not-for-profit historical reenacting group dedicated to the recreation of the life and times of the U.S. mounted soldier.  Although we primarily portray Civil War Union Cavalry, we have portrayed and have interest in every time period from the Revolution till the end of the horse cavalry in 1943.  We are a family oriented unit with members from all walks of life.  We strive to maintain an accurate impression while in the field.
