Another QL show took take place in the United States on 2002, June the 1st.

US QL Show at Washington, D.C.
Quanta and NESQLUG are pleased to sponsor the US 2002 QL Show to be held at the Park Inn in Oxon Hill, Maryland on Saturday 1 June 2002. Several European vendors are expected including J-M-S, QBranch, and Q-Celt. A Maryland Crab Fest is planned for Sunday.

The Park Inn is a newly renovated motel just off the I-95/I-495 beltway around Washington, D.C. just north of the Potomac River and is 12 km from the White House, U.S. Capital and the numerous free attractions on the Mall. There is bus service and the Branch Ave. Metro station (www.wmata.com) is five minutes away by car. The special QL room rate is $59 per night for 1 to 4 people. There is a swimming pool, game room, free parking, free local phone calls, and free continental (coffee, juice, pastries) breakfast. The meeting room is in the Park Inn. The QL rate is good for stays longer than just the weekend. It is guanteed for reservations made by 15 May 2002. Here's my journey report:
I missed the 2001 North American show on June 2nd 2001 in Montreal. Next goal was to be at this years US show. As I had collected enough bonus miles to take a free business class flight to Washington D.C. and back I finally decided to join this show. It was supposed to by my second US QL show after Oak Ridge, Tennessee in 1995. I arrived in the US on Thursday May 30th and stayed until June 6th. The days before the show I enjoyed D.C., the days after the show I did a trip through six states where I first went direction north passing Harrisburg, Williamsport up to Niagara Falls. I visited the Falls on both American and Canadian side. Then I visited Toronto for a (rainy) day. On the way back to Washington D.C. I did a short driveby to Philadelphia. The last day I stayed again in the capitol of the United States. The QL show and the "get together" around it were great! I had great fun meet many old friends which some of them I haven't seen for years! At the show I've got the QPC2 V3.03 update. Highlights of the show were QDT, GOLDFIRE, QL2002 DVD and GeeGraphics. I hope to be able to be at the US2003 event too.
