This could be the year...you never know!
The quest for #17 begins now!!!
This is my page about THE greatest sports organization ever assembled. I'm all about the Celtics.
You're here, so you too probably like the Celts.
This page is neither elaborate, nor original...but who cares!
I'm not out to win any awards, just root for the Celtics.
Ron Mercer headed to Denver
Ho-ly Shit! That's all I gotta say. Ron Mercer for
Danny Fortson. Wow. Hey, at least they got rid of Popeye
and Schintzius. Also, in another interesting side-note, the
C's signed Beantown native and ex-Kentucky guard Wayne Turner
as a third point guard. I am, though, impressed with the
free-agent signings of CBA phenom Adrian Griffin and '93 college
player of the year Calbert Cheaney. We all have faith, Rick.
We trust your judgement. Now just push Pervis in front of
rapidly-moving traffic and we'll be all set. There's another
8 mil under the salary cap right there.
This is what I had to say following the Mercer trade.
I think it may stand to be prophetic somewhat. Two weeks into
the season now, and Adrian Griffin is hands-down the third best
rookie in the league.
On another note, I'd like to say how impressed I've been with the Celts
quick start. Even Pervis, yes "Never Nervous", has contributed.
Antoine is taking shots within the framework of the offense, and Paul Pierce
has been Paul Pierce. Kenny Anderson is shooting the ball like he's
a senior at Archbishop Milloy again, and slowly but not yet surely,
Vitaly is making us forget about DeClercq and a draft pick (Andre Miller) for
his services. We're doin' alright.
Antoine Walker
20.2 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 2.9 apg
The Celtics and Nuggets completed a six-player deal
that sent Celtics guard Ron Mercer to Denver for power
forward Danny Fortson. The Celtics said they are trading
Mercer, Popeye Jones and Dwayne Schintzius to Denver for
Fortson, Eric Washington, and Eric Williams, who began
his career in Boston. The Celtics began exploring the
trade market last month after Mercer said there was a
"huge difference" between the Celtics' initial offer and
what he was asking on a new contract.
