TENNESSEE FREE TRAPPERS ASSOCIATION





TFTA SPRING MEET:
This meeting will be held rain or shine on Saturday April 25, 2009 beginning at 9:00 am CDT at the Cedars of Lebanon State Park, Lebanon, TN at Shelter #1. This meeting will be a pot luck type luncheon, so bring a covered dish if possible. Coffee and cold drinks will be provided by the TFTA at no cost. Please bring a donation item for our fund raising auction if possible. We will be having some trapping and snaring demos also. For more information contact Chris Jacobsen 615-672-8546.

DIRECTIONS: To get there from Nashville: Take I-40 East, Exit 232A (Hwy. 109 South, Gallatin). Go right. Continue on Hwy. 109 for 3.7 miles, continue on Hwy. 265 S. (Central Pike) for 4.6 miles. Turn right onto Hwy. 231 (TN-10, Murfreesboro Road) for .6 miles. Turn left onto Cedar Forest Rd. There will be TFTA signs pointing the way.


TFTA SUMMER MEET:
This meeting will be held rain or shine on July 18, 2009 beginning at 9:00 am EDT at the Cumberland Mountain State Park near Crossville, TN on Saturday, July 18, 2009. This meeting will be a pot luck type luncheon, so bring a covered dish if possible. Coffee and cold drinks will be provided by the TFTA. Please bring a donation item for our fund raising auction if possible. We will be having some trapping and snaring demo's. If you do not know how to put up your fur correctly here is your chance to learn before the next trapping season is upon you. This way you will be able to receive a better price for your fur at the up coming auctions.

DIRECTIONS: To get here from Nashville: Take I-40 East, Exit #317, Travel South on US Hwy. 127 for 9 miles. The park entrance is on the right. There will be TFTA signs pointing the way.


  TFTA FALL MEET: This meeting will be held rain or shine on October 11, 2008 beginning at 9:00 am EDT at the Rock Island State Park on Saturday, October 11, 2008. This meeting will be a pot luck type luncheon, so bring a covered dish if possible. Coffee and cold drinks will be provided by the TFTA. Please bring a donation item for our fund raising auction if possible. As always, we will be having some interesting trapping and snaring demos experienced trappers. If you want to get some great trapping advice and learn some things before the next trapping season is upon you, this is your chance for the 008-2009 season

 

NOTE: Be sure to have your Otters & Bobcats tagged before coming to the sale. TN Free Trappers Association cannot guarantee that there will be a Game Warden Present for tagging otters and cats.

If you are selling your fur green, please do not bring it to the auctions wet and muddy. Be sure it is clean, the fur is dry and not full of burrs.


Trappers: To reserve a table, call no earlier than 1 month prior to each of the fur sales. You do not have to be a member to reserve a table. No Commission will be charged to TN Free Trappers Members. 4% commission will be charged to Non-Members on fur and 1% on ginseng.

Fur Buyers: You will need a valid Tennessee Fur Buyers license (Type 121) in order to buy fur. In order to buy roots, a buyer must possess a license from the TN Department of Natural Heritage. FOR THE 2008 TO 2009 SEASON

#1 - Bulls Gap - VFW Post #9683
January 10, 2009
Beginning at 9:00 am EDT on February 10, 2009 this auction will be held at the VFW Post #9683 located on Hwy. 11 E.
DIRECTIONS: Take I-40 towards Knoxville, then take I-81 North towards Bristol. Take exit #23 (Hwy. 11E, Mosheim/ Greeneville/Bulls Gap). Keep left at the fork in the ramp. Turn left onto W. Andrew Johnson Hwy. which becomes Hwy. 11E, turn right on to North VFW Road. Follow the TFTA signs.


#2 - Waverly, TN - Humphreys County Agriculture Center
January 24, 2009
Beginning at 9:00 am CDT on January 24, 2009 this auction will be held at the Humphreys County Agriculture Center (next to the Farmers Co-op) on Blue Creek Road in Waverly, TN
DIRECTIONS: From I-40, take Exit 143 to Hwy. 13 North. Travel on Hwy. 13 approx 12 or 13 miles, turn left on Blue Creek Road just before you get to the square in Waverly. Look for the TFTA signs as you turn in by the bridge

#3 - Alexandria, TN - DeKalb County Fairgrounds
February 28, 2009
Beginning at 9:00 am CDT on February 28, 2009 this auction will be held at the DeKalb County Fairgrounds in Alexandria, TN
DIRECTIONS: From I-40, take exit 254 (Alexandria Exit). Turn right off of interstate. Stay straight continuing on Hwy. 53 South, then take a right on to Hwy. 70 in Alexandria and follow the TFTA signs.
