Meet Jelani who's name means 'Mighty One'.

Jelani was born on 6th December 1998 and joined our family in early 1999 and he has been the main inspiration for us being continually besotted by the breed.

Our prefix KoDust is in honour of Jelani's parents Mr Ko and Dusty.

Jelani at eight and a half years of age is still shown on occasion and is consistently competitive against the dogs shown that are half his age. We will still continue to show Jelani periodically.

The photo above of Jelani was taken in September 2006 when Jelani was awarded Runner Up in Show at the Hound Club of Queensland Open Show.

Jelani was recently shown at the Rhodesian Ridgeback Inc Speciality Show in NSW and was awarded Best Open Dog and Opposite Open in Show. We are obviously thrilled to bits that Jelani can still easily compete against dogs half his age.

Jelani's progeny has always done exceptionally well in the show ring. Kayin (Ch. Starridge Whispring Jack) gained his title in style early last year at 12 months and one week old. Kayin and the love of his life, Kya (KoDust Diamond in the Sky) are now living in Canberra region and will be shown consistently in Canberra and NSW. Rocky and Bob are being shown from Jelani's latest litter with Kierra (Ch. Kettleridge Karla Kierra) and both boys are doing very well and we hope to see them be as consistent winners as Mr Kovu was when he was shown on a frequent basis.

Jelani has shown us how intelligent and loyal the ridgeback breed is.

How should I sum up Jelani - loyal, arrogant and protective.
