LEIA Aust. Ch. Starridge Princess Leia

Meet the gorgeous Princess Leia

Amy and Leia - Dec 2000

I first met Leia in April 1999 and from the very first moment I knew she was one special ridgeback.

Leia has stuck a chord in my heart that will stay with me forever. She is one very special ridgeback.

In 1999 Leia went to live with Cyndy Burton of Starridge Rhodesian Ridgebacks for a while. Leia was entered into a few conformation shows where she took out two Challenges, three Reserve Challenges and a State Bred in Group.

In May 1999 Leia went to Newcastle to live with Dianna Brennan of HuntingRidge Rhodesian Ridgebacks where over a period of four months she easily gained her title of Australian Champion. During those four months Leia took out 12 excellent Challenges, 5 Runner Up Best of Breeds and 1 Open in Group. Not bad for a ridgeback who had spent the first couple of years of her life tucked away in a back yard and had never entered a show ring.

Leia and babies - July 2000

In 2000 Di Brennan decided to put KO (Gr. Ch. Bearstar Ko CD ROM) over Leia. This was the ideal mating to me as I adored Ko, wanted his blood lines and as Leia is gorgeous and a Ko granddaugther to boot, I realised that between them they would produce some top quality ridgebacks.

Leia with baby Nikkita - 12 weeks

I am pleased to announce that Di Brennan and I now co-own one of Leia and Ko's beautiful daughters and as many people would know, her name is Nikkita (HuntingRidge A Star is Born) whom I adore.

Leia, I love you sweetie and I know that your years to come living with Di and her tribe will be filled with love and comfort. You are adored beyond belief and I am so greatful that I have a part of you in your daughter Nikkita.

Leia at home - 1999

I would have to say that Leia's best doggy friend is her daddy Ryker, followed close behind by Nikkita. Leia and Ryker love to romp around the back yard and both love playing with toys.

Leia has a passion for playing with frisbies - she loves to catch them, but not hand them back over as she's having too much fun. Leia also loves to be hosed and goes absolutely berko.

Leia at the Rhodesian Ridgeback Speciality - Sydney 1999

Leia is still shown occasionally and pictured above is Leia at the Sydney Speciality 1999. Leia is a joy to watch in the show ring as she has so much fun and is one of the few ridgebacks I have seen who has real show presence and attitude.

News Flash - On 1st October 2000 at the Sydney Rhodesian Ridgeback Speciality Show under judge Ms Stacey Davis (USA) Leia placed 5th in the Open Class with an entry of over 20 females. Well done Leia.
