Copying
code for banners, counter boxes. [TopLink]
About the banners and counter boxes in the sections below.
Just copy and paste the code into your webpages. You
may need to paste it into
Notepad or another plain text editor
first as an intermediate step. Then copy the code from the text editor
and paste
it into the HTML of your webpage. This intermediate- step method
usually prevents the problem of character
substitution. Make sure the code is the same in your webpage
as it is here,
and that it works. Then, you can experiment and edit the code in any
way.
Any link or message can be used with this banner. To
read the message
place your cursor over the image without clicking it. After reading the
message
click the banner to go to the webpage. The current link goes to a
mirror of the webpage that you are reading now. For the clickable
banner above here is the HTML below to paste into your web pages. It
assumes that you have an images folder to place the image in. Use the
appropriate HTML for your images folder.

The code farther down will create the counter box.
It can be copied and pasted almost anywhere into the HTML code for your
webpages.
There is one problem with this counter. If the antiwar.com site that
holds the
counter values has problems or is overwhelmed with hits, then it will
slow down,
or not pass on those values to the counter box on your webpages. When
this
happens, then the webpages with the counter box also load very slowly,
or not at
all. So it is better to load the counter almost by itself on a webpage.
That way
if it doesn't open up right away, then nothing else of importance will
be missed
by the webpage not opening up.
The code for this counter and its variations can be adapted in
any way. The code below
does not require any other code or files on your website. It pulls its
updated
wounded and death counts from the antiwar.com server online.

*January 2003. Colin Powell: Arafat Not Entirely To Blame For
Camp David
Failure. "Secretary of State Colin Powell said in Switzerland
on Sunday
that Israel must offer Palestinians more than a 'phony state
diced into a
thousand different pieces.' What will surely be missed by the
corporate U.S.
media is that this statement flies directly in the face of the line
towed by
most U.S. and Israeli officials regarding the failed Camp David
Accords.
Following the failure of the Taba talks in January, 2001,
most U.S. government
officials have been complicit in propagating the myth that Arafat was
100% to
blame for the failure of the Camp David talks."

* At
the link below are excellent maps of the
West Bank sliced up by settlements.
A comment under a map: "At last July's Camp David summit the Israeli
delegation spoke of 'territorial concessions' to the Palestinians. But
their
proposals were not released in any official text still less recorded on
any map.
That is why the Jerusalem Task Force from Orient House (which
represents
Palestinian interests in Jerusalem), drew up this map on the
basis of
information from the Palestinian delegation to the summit.
Ehud Barak's [Israeli
Prime Minister at the time] Palestinian state is shown as a West
Bank
territory divided into three and further subdivided by roads reserved
for Jewish
settlers plus the Gaza Strip." http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2003/01/1568453_comment.php
