The Middle East Geological Enterprises has a comprehensive data base, in addition to in-house and consulting reports. Most of these data have not yet been synthesized into a modern exploration framework, this is precisely what we proposed to do.
This project is formed of a series of regional geological reports on the Middle East countries offered to the petroleum industry. Our reports represent a compilation, updating, reviewing and evaluation of data put into report form to help evaluate prospective areas and potential plays. Fourteen volumes of this series already issued. These include: SE Turkey, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Kuwait and Neutral Zone, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Sudan, Gulf of Suez and the Republic of Yemen.
Each report represents a comprehensive compilation of the geology and hydrocarbon potential of this country availabe to date. It presents an up-to-date synthesis of the following:
1. Geologic setting.
2. Regional stratigraphy and sedimentation.
3. Regional structure and tectonic evolution.
4. Summary of exploration and production history, including descritopn of the major oilfields.
5. Synthesis of the petroleum geology and hydrocarbon prospects of the region including source, reservoir, seal and trap.
6. Exploration play concept.
These reports are invaluable to explorationists who require
a comprehensive review and understanding of the hydrocarbon potential
of the area. The authors of these reports used all available open-file
geologic data, so they represent the most integral regional study
available for the region. The results of each study are synthesized
into a comprehensive text, and a series of figures, and a full
bibliography that covers the region.
