Hey all, so you wanna know about the band huh? well here goes!.....
Brief history....
The band was originally formed in 2001 around may - june ish, at this time it was just two members jaming under the name hatred. The two members at this time were MatT (aka CaeceA) and Stu. MatT did vocal, Stu played guitar. We still have recordings of this time with such classics (cough cough)like 'An ode to self harm' and 'why?'. These songs may be resurrected at a later date!
It was under the name hatred that the band has its first gig at a local youth club, we recruited a drummer named george bratby. the gig went well with just a drummer, vocalist and guitarist. However the style of the songs was somewhat similar, i.e. it was just heavy. We had 2 - 3 more gigs booked for the summer of 2001. George decided he didnt like the music we played however as he prefered music a little less heavy. So he left and we had to cancel the gigs.
Towards the end of the summer we recuirted a drummer named andrea who is still with the band and after finding out there was another, signed band called hatred we changed our name to (*HATRed*)->(ap). The A P stood for a paradox, so basically saying hatred was a paradox.
During all the time the band had been up, there was only 2 similarities, one the combo of matt and stu, and the face we didnt have a bassist! Matt was learning bass all this time, but found it difficult to play and sing. We experimented with a number of options.
However a problem was to occur, at the beginning of term Matt broke his finger playing hockey and was therefore unable to play bass or do much else. This put paid to the intended practice sessions and lead to a period of inactivity in the band. The band was eventually resurected in its current format just before half term. It changed its name to *SuuL*, recuirted a bassist named will which all co-incided with a change in style towards a more mellodic but still heavy, partly christian style!
No sooner had we done this and had our first practice under that the new format, then stu went and broke his arm, which meant he was unable to play guitar for almost two months.
Which leads us up to the present day, the band with a selection of songs written, and with a full line up of Matt - vocals + 2nd bass, stu - guitar, andrea - drums and will - bass, we are after the mocks looking to get the band up and running properly with set practise dates and what ever, we have been invited back to the youth club to play another gig and we're aiming for gigging in the summer and having a short album/lp out then. The provisional title of the LP is "from elation to despair".

Currently the band is discussing possible band name changes, so as to change to current name of *Suul*, possible alternatives include, "brighter star - darker shadow, Maelstrom, Keep the faith, Prayer machine" if anyone has any decent ideas, email me (MatT) at: unacceptable2society@dysfunctional.co.uk

The band has been renamed Labyrinth and will continue to operate under this name.
