F. C. P. ASSEMBLY

SERMON: DISPOSABLE SIN.

INTRO: There is a product in the States called Disposable Guilt Bags. Obviously one way the world tries to deal with sin is this kind of product - these Disposable Guilt Bags. These are a set of ten ordinary brown bags on which are printed the following instructions: "Place the bag securely over your mouth, take a deep breath and blow all your guilt out. Then dispose of the bag immediately." The kit sells for $2.50 and thousands have been purchased. Why? Why would people buy such an obvious scam / gimmick? Because . . . TRAN-STATE: - We so desperately need to be freed from our sin! But we,Christians know, only God can give us diposable sin! Right?! - - 1.THE-SCAPEGOAT - - Many of us claim the promises of God, but few of us live them! If God is going to be cleaning out His church, unearthing our garbage (which I think He is) we’re going to need a true understanding of His grace in this matter! Le 16:8 And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat. During the great, once a year, sin of atonement, the priest took one goat for sacrifice, and one for bearing away sin. Over the scapegoat went all the sins of the people, and then it was sent away to be lost for good! This is much better than a paper bag! Especially with what comes with the ultimate scapegoat,Christ! Ro 3:25 (Jesus) Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Christ is the ultimate scapegoat! He is the One who took our sin away literally. Christ did this for us! That is awsome! Ps 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. Oh,Amen! - - 2.EXAMINE - - Le 16:21 And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: Notice the confession must be as particular as he could make it, not only of all the iniquities of the children of Israel, but all their transgressions in all their sins. In one sin there may be many transgressions, from the several aggravating circumstances of it; and in our confessions we should take notice of them, and not only say, I have sinned, but this is how I sinned "Thus and thus have I done." Think about this, We need to express every ugly detail! How particular are you? Painful to express all the details? Needed, to be truly cleansed. . Ps 103:17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, . By this confession he must put the sins of Israel upon the head of the goat; that is, exercising faith, he must transfer the punishment incurred from the sinners to the sacrifice. The later Jews had a custom to tie one shred of scarlet cloth to the horns of the goat and another to the gate of the temple, or to the top of the rock where the goat was lost, and they concluded that if it turned white, as they say it usually did, the sins of Israel were forgiven, as it is written, Isa 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Here That! hear what the Lord saying to you today! (Repeat Isa1:18) They also mention that for forty years before the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans the scarlet cloth never changed colour at all! Which showed that, having rejected the substance of repentance, the atonement stood them no power for forgiveness!!! 1Co 11:28 But let a man examine himself, and then let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. How serious is your repentance? How much do you appreciate what God has done for you through His Scapegoat and Sacrificial Lamb - Jesus? This Communion have you truly examined yourself in the truth of the Holy Spirit’s scouring? Ps 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. - - 3.GONE! - - Le 16:21 And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: The goat was then to be sent away immediately by the hand of a fit person pitched upon for the purpose, into a wilderness, a land not inhabited; and God allowed them to make this construction of it, that the sending away of the goat was the sending away of their sins, by a free and full remission: He shall bear upon him all their iniquities. The losing of the goat was a sign to them that the sins of Israel should be sought for, and not found! (Repeat!) Your sins canot be found!! They’re gone!! Please take that in! The devil nor a person, nor yourself can find them again! So, how far away are your sins? Ps 103:10-12 TURN Ps 103:10He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. Imagine if God did deal accordingly?! Praise God Amen?! 11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. Communion - We examine in the fear of God, to not abuse the grace of His Scapegoat! 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Boom! There it is! Soak it up! Globe Example: If you go north or south, you will eventually hit the other. But if you go east or west, you never hit the other!! Eternally seperated - from your sin! God knew. Glory! Ps 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. READ PSALM 136 w/Congregation. Do you get the point!?! MERCY! Christ our Scapegoat has ensured our forever mercy? Halleujah?! - - 4.OUR-TURN - - Guess what? We too are to continue His mission! We must be willing to be the scapegoats to truly love each other and this world. 1Pe 4:8 And above all things have fervent love among yourselves: for love shall cover the multitude of sins. We are to bear each others burdens away - for good! Mt 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Through prayer, love and forgiveness. As when you lead some one to Christ, you do this! You bring what Christ did, to them, and their sin is borne away!! Wow, what a blessing! This is different than the bearing of holding one another up (thats another sermon!). This is a carrying away! Mt 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Are you willing to do so? We so desperately need to be freed from our sin! But only God can give us diposable sin! Ps 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. Ask Yourself: Have I soaked in the level of mercy God has for me? Am I fully aware of the distance that my sin is from me? Have I fully examined myself today? Am I/Will I continue the mission of Mercy to those around me?
