As memoirs need to start somewhere, I’ve decided to start
taking notes.
9th Riuros, Pass of 3817
In our escape, taking the river seemed like a swift, efficient and
logical choice …… until the gigantic water lizard attacked. Luckily
Bhekidha and I were prepared and managed a few well-placed shots so he
wasn’t as hard to dispatch as one would figure.
We arrived in the village of Tanaroa. The chief J’Kal was ecstatic to
see her granddaughter Tafari again. The grateful chief held a large
celebration and there was plenty of drinking, dancing and …… merriment.
We explained to J’Kal the happenings of our adventure with the Unseen
Ones. Rakshasa in disquise.
J’Kal believes the Rakshasa to be usurpers of the Unseen Ones,
murderers who took their place in order to take advantage of constant
offerings. Personally, I figure they’ve always been worshipping the
evil beings and the truth has just come to light. But who am I to
destroy an entire cultures belief structure?
After a week in the village, training some of the villagers to fight
the Rakshasa an emissary was sent to negotiate. I spoke with them,
conferring with Chief J’Kal, and it was agreed we would leave if the
village of Tanaroa would be spared. We’ve supplied them with knowledge
and a little skill, and what they do with it after we leave is up to
them.
With the ship repaired we set sail from Chef’aduel to see the Oracle.
Two weeks at sea…. I’m getting tired of the water. Finding the island
did not pose a problem. However, we learned the island is some sort of
anti-magic area. The tests were challenging but nothing our group
couldn’t handle. After asking our questions and receiving our cryptic
answers we headed to Cristeen to resupply. Needless to say, we all
remained hidden on board to avoid the local authorities.
