Seanna grew up in the Grey-elven kingdom of Llanvair with her
middle-class
family. Seanna had two brothers, whom her parents always favored over
her.
Her parents were always trying to encourage, rather force, Seanna into
the more esoteric fields of magic such as divination, but Seanna had
always
been interested in the more practical arts of magic. Both of her
brothers had become sages of some reknown, which greatly pleased her
parents,
and Seanna's parents hoped that she would follow in the footsteps of
her
siblings. However, Seanna had an adventurous spirit, and with a
boundless
thirst for experience due to her supra-human intelligence, and soon
began
to chafe under the strict yoke of Grey elf society.
Recognizing the wanderlust which had come over Seanna, a few days later
her parents requested to bring a human knight into the Elven village.
Usually
this would uphaul the elders of our town, but this human was from a
family
that was familiar with the town. The human that they had requested went
by the name of Djinn and was descended (his great grandson) from a man
who had once saved the princess of the kingdom and was therefore
welcomed
with opened arms.
Her parents reason for introducing this human to our town? So he could
“guide” and protect me. Seanna was extremely difficult with the poor
guy,
wanting nothing to do with his protection. He tried to dissuade
Seanna
from entering the harsh world outside her city, but after the first
week
of her unbearable (intentionally of course) company he went to her
parents
and told them there no way she would ever concede to giving up on her
notion
of becoming an adventurer. They told him to just be her protector on
the
surface and keep trying to brainwash me into returning to the city. He
took great offense to this dishonest request of Seanna's parents and
notified
her of it immediately and also informed her of his departure.
Seanna had to get out of the place and especially away from her
parents.
She snuck out of our house at the middle of the night and went to see
the
young human knight to request that he allow my company on his
journeys.
She was very persuasive and informed him of her great talents as a
wonderful
magician. He eventually agreed to allow her company on his
journeys.
She was grateful and excited. She hurried back to my home to pack
my spellbook a few other items and lots of dry rations. She bid
farewell
to her magician friend who had taught me so much and promised him that
I would return one day to visit him. Early before any would rise that
morning
Seanna and the knight stole into the sunrise and away from her
suffocating
life in the grey elven city.
