The elven pantheon, known as the Seldarine, is unique in that it is the
most cohesive of all racial pantheons. Unlike those of the dwarves,
gnomes,
halflings, orcs, or other races, all elven gods reside together on the
plane of Olympus (with the exception of Lolth, who is not considered
part
of the Seldarine). Furthermore, all elven deities share the same
alignment,
chaotic neutral. It is this closeness which is responsible for the
coordination
that exists between all members of the Seldarine, a spirit of
cooperation
which is mirrored by the Seldarine's earthly followers. The Seldarine
generally
emphasize the elven unity with life and nature, blurring the
distinction
between elves and their environment. Themes of natural and magical
power
are common components of Seldarine religions, but war rarely occurs as
a major focus of the religions (contrasting sharply with those of the
orcs
or dwarves, for example). These themes tend to reflect the major facets
of elven life, concerned more with self exploration and discovery than
accomplishing specific worldly goals. The head of the Seldarine is
Corellon
Larethian, however, there are numerous other deities and demi-gods.
