Powers of the Gnomes

"Other races attempt to stamp out evil. This is why they fail. Evil cannot be destroyed. It exists within all of us. We gnomes accept this, because until you conquers the evil within yourself, it is useless to attempt to conquer the evil you see around you."
Narabod, Cleric of Garl Glittergold

Unlike many other pantheons, gnomish deities are rarely concerned with flashy, heroic crusades against evil They generally prefer to care for their flock through accomplishments which are less showy, but ultimately more practical. Most gnomish gods would hold that a successful harvest would benefit a gnomish community more than a holy war against neighboring goblins, and thus rarely concentrate their efforts on warfare. Gnomish deities are clever, sensible, and helpful. They focus on the primary aspects of gnomish society: nature, crafts, hard work, and good humor. Compared to many other deities, the gnomish pantheon is much more accessible to the average follower, and most deities recieve their worship in the home, rather than in impressive places of worship. The nominal head of the gnomish pantheon is Garl Glittergold, although there is little in the way of a rigorous heiracrhy. There are numerous other deities and demi-gods in the gnomish pantheon, and some of the more commonly worshipped are listed below.
