Background:
Once upon a time in the forest, isn’t that how most elf tales start?
Well not this one, Thia was born in the belly of a mountain. Her
father, a skilled Jotun warrior and her mother, a beautiful elven
ranger were hired by dwarves to help with an unsightly kobold problem.
Thia’s life continued in much the same fashion following her parent’s
adventures and learning all she could.
It was shortly after her 21st birthday the family of adventures where
hired by a farmer just outside of Mederia. His child was killed inside
their barn. The locals wanted to distribute their own brand of justice
upon the most likely suspect; a slow witted half-orc who was hired by
the town for basic maintenance. The farmer, still grieving for his lost
little girl, wished to find proof before another innocent life was lost.
This proof found, not only exonerated the unfortunate half-orc but
implicated a clan of goblins taken root at the base of mount Densoramy.
Thia, her mother Livari and her father Glordran set off to hunt down
these goblins. This was the unfortunate turn of events that brought
about the death of Thia’s family. There was an ambush, Glordran was
mortally wounded, Thia badly injured and left for dead and Livari
hauled into a cave by the goblins.
Thia recovered at the farmers house and gathered a large band of
adventuring associates who were only to willing to help when they heard
of her parents deaths. There was a bloody assault on the goblin cave
days later every last one was killed. In the cave, Thia found he corpse
of her mother, dismembered and mutilated upon an altar. Thia felt guilt
for taking to long to recover and gather allies. Her mother may have
lived if she’d been quicker. Thia swore to kill every goblin on sight.
Thia was left to wander alone and she followed the Ghaal River south.
Her first solo job came from the townsfolk of the village Chermindal.
She quickly dispatched a horde of unusually large rats infesting the
town, earning a little gold and a lot of self confidence.
She had joined other adventuring groups along the way and was left with
her share of the spoils and bragging rights for the scars. The most
recent band being her and five others chatting in a tavern in
Weyensail. They were hired to kill a pair of orc’s who were terrorizing
travelers on the road west. Upon successfully completing their task
they went their separate ways.
