Background:
Zook
could have been great, could have done almost anything he wanted, if he
could have just focused on something long enough to get good at it
before loosing interest. He started numerous careers and all ended the
same with a very strong start and then he lost interest and went on to
try something else new. After adolescence his family and clan thought
traveling might calm him down and get him to focus a bit… well that
didn’t work out so well. Eventually he returned to the clan and after a
few more years failing at one trade or another his clan was saved by
some unlikely heroes who he then found himself indebted to. He was to
help them find a cure for a curse. Once his debt was repaid he decided
that he’d rather tag along with the adventurers for a while instead of
returning home. So far it’s been a blast and will make many good tales
when/if he gets home.
His
only long running passion is stories. He loves reading stories,
but loves hearing them even more. The best part of the day is
when he gets to sit around a campfire or tavern with random strangers
and listen to them tell their tales. Most of what he knows is
from stories he's heard or read somewhere. During the travels he
did as a youth, he spent most of his time learning stories and
adventuring to places where he could learn more. The chance to
learn a new tale or tell the ones he knows are all the motivation he
needs to travel to horrid places or risk his life.
He’s
useless in combatant and being a scatterbrained gnome doesn’t gain him
much respect from important people. He does know a lot of random
crap though and seems quite adept at improving moral, crowd control and
gaining friends among simple folk.
