Chapter 1

The winds and rains tore and the small house on the shore of the largest ocean in the world. A woman’s screams of pain ring out only to be swept out unheard by the storms furry. The screams Rise to a fever pitch then her screams are joined by two more the deeper tones of a male and the high pitch wailing of the terrified midwife. What could cause such a reaction on a birthing bed? let us go in and see...

Inside the father and mother of the newborn are huddled together as far away as possible from the screaming infant laying in a pool of blood at the foot of the bed. The midwife has passed out on the floor. The mother trembling in shock and fear mumbles over and over again "Tiburon" let us look closer now first at the parents...

the male who huddles in such abject fear is large and strong his face lined and darkened by many days spent in the sun his hands are calloused and worn from a life on the ocean. The hair receding on his head gives his skull a rounded look.

The woman is beautiful even now in her terror at the child she bore. Slender lithe with long flowing brown hair and warm hazel green eyes her skin is tanned slightly frekles splashed on her nose and cheeks

Steeling himself the father rises and takes the child into his arms. Now let us look finally at the child...strange..black staring unblinking eyes..Skin white pure white a pattern like splashing water. Rough skin turns blue from his mouth up and over his hairless head and down over his back. His jaws are large stretched ..distorted forming a snout filled with row after row of sharp triangular teeth horizontal slits.. gills adorn his neck. his body is mostly humanoid other then that and the lack of either a nose or a pair of ears like a fish he has holes in his skull for these organs.

The father hurries out into the storm and jumps into his boat with the screaming bundle in his arms. Unfurling the sail he rides the storm out into the darkness. Screaming to Anthius the water demon who watches over him and his wife the man hurls the child into the waves as an offering.

The infants screaming is instantly cut off by the water filling his lungs as it sinks below the waves. The demon is angered at this distorted offering he reacts with violence increasing the furry of the waves. The fathers boat is lifted high by an ocean swell to be dashed on its side, swamped. The father sinks below the waves, just as the darkness begins to take him a juvenile great white shark pushes him to the surface. Using it's sensitive snout it pushes him across the surface to shore... The infant saved his murderous father...

The shark moves back from the shore confused at its own actions yet completely at home in the waves. Only an infant never the less as a shark he is ready to fend for himself at birth. Powerful tail drives him from the surf into deeper...calmer waters. Soon above the storm dies out letting the sun come down to warm the still form of the father...after a few moments he erupts in loud choking and coughing sounds purging his lungs of the sea water.

The demon smiles to himself seeing the out come. To itself "Yes this one will make a nice servant after all" Its laughter rings out sending chills through all who are under its not insignificant power, including a certain fisherman and his beautiful wife so newly relaxed from labor...

Tiburon moves in the waves completely at home hunting and eating mating and killing yet never sleeping or stopping to rest he explores the oceans from one end to the other rarely bothering to go to his man like form other then to explore air filled caverns one of which he made his home and holding place for interesting items.

As he traveled the shore in his man like form searching for interesting things he sees a strange figure two legged like himself yet covered in a shapeless cloth. lets look closer at this figure...

Moving with an easy grace the figure is garbed in a green robe covered with the runes of the elder futhark feathers from a variety of birds adorn a simple oak staff also carved with a variety of the same runes. His Balding head reflects the sun light his eyes are a soft blue and his face is adorned with a easy smile even in the face of this rather hideous shark creature in front of him. He raises his hand and his mouth moves emitting unintelligible sounds

Tiburon simply watches the strange figure curiously as it emits the weird sounds. When it gets no response the creature closes its eyes and plants its staff in the sand making more unintelligible sounds it starts to glow setting Tiburon to backing up.Crouching into an ungainly fighting stance He balls his hands tightly and bares his teeth. Slowly he feels a tickle in the back of his mind growing quickly into a flood of information in one great searing block. His senses can not handle the rapid influx of information and he sees nothing but darkness closing in. He feels his body hit the sand then void...

Several hours latter far from the shore we hear a loud crash followed by a startled and pained yelp. Following these sounds is our friend the druid quickly hurrying back twords the little cabin where he has made his home along with his brother. After crashing through the door way he stops suddenly apon seeing the shark creature on its feet, holding his small brother upside down by his legs apparently preparing to devour him.

Calling out in the common tounge to the shark creature the druid tries to calm him."Peace, we mean you no harm what is the problem?"

Turning the shark creature responds in a low rumbling voice."You speak the language of the ocean now?"

The druid answers"Nay I have taught you our language and many things about out land to make the transition easier..."

The shark creature growls."The pain in my head was your doing." He drops the smaller human and with one great stride he wraps large blue hands around the druids shoulders lifting him as if he were a small child. "Why did you hurt me?"

Trembling the druid replies,"I ment no harm I was mearly trying to help you..."

He is cut off as the shark creature hurls him violently accross the room to crash into his brother ,just as he is able to stand once more, sending them both back into the wall.

Tiburon turns and stalks off into the forest eager to return to the sea and leave these strange creatures that called themselves humans behind. Confused by his ordeal he unknowingly travels in the wrong direction away from his home and all he knows of life twords the world of man...
