Laguna is part of Squall's connection to the past. During Squall's dreams, he travels back in time as Laguna, who was a Galbadian soldier at the time. Laguna is a very independent person, but not very manly. He usually bunches up whenever he tries to talk to girls, or gets overly excited and talk to much. He gets leg cramps often from being in the army so long, and his long term goal is to become a journalist and write about his travels over the world. After an accident while in the army, he goes to Winhill where a woman named Raine nurses him back to health. He lives with Raine and her daughter, Ellone. Ellone is the girl that uses Squall to travel back in time to Laguna. After Laguna lives in Winhill, he becomes president of Esthar and stays their with his army buddies, Ward and Kiros.

Limit Break: Desperado: This is a fairly powerful attack, hitting multiple enemies. He tosses a hand grenade and shoots a few clips of ammo at the enemy during Desperado.
