Humans are most likely the creatures who cause the most change. Humans can live just about anywhere. In addition, they are very quick learners and are able to put this knowledge into technological advancements. Combined with their attitude that life is too short, they advance and spread quickly. Humans are as varied as they are numerous. They can be just about anything.
Elves are creditted with being the longest lived race on the planet. The elves of Seseur have long been in contact with humans. Though they prefer the forest, they have been known to live in jungles and grasslands. Elves tend to disdain technological careers such as engineers. Elves will almost never go through any mana enhancement processes which are fundamental in the creation of magitech knights and laser knights.
The result of a union between an elf and a human, half-elves often live difficult lives. They are thought of as 'impulsive' by elves and as 'rustic' by humans. Most half-elves live a life of travelling from one area to another. Half-elves can be just about anything, though very few go through mana enhancement processes fundamental to magitech knights and laser knights.
Dwarves tend to live in the northern climates and underground. A few dwarven settlements were cut off from the rest of dwarven society by glacier activities. These settlements made treaties with some human governments to be considered a colony and thus receive support. The dwarves were basically given no rights, however, and are seeing that this was a mistake. Dwarves tend to be warrior and technological types. Magic is virtually unknown among dwarves.
From the far mountians to the north, to the deep regions of the forest, to the mysterious islands hidden in fog; sprites are existant even though they are viewed to be mostly legend. Sprites tend to be shy and cautious. Most would rather flee then to stand and fight or even just talk. Some sprites become curious at the surrounding world, however. Sprites make good mages but poor fighters. Most sprites disdain technology. No sprite has ever undergone any mana enhancement processes.
Once in a great while, an esper and a human (usually a summoner) will fall in love. The result of this union is a half-esper. Half-espers are usually hidden by their human parents and watched from afar by their esper parents. Most governments would love to get their hands on a half-esper. Half-espers are part divine and are able to attain their divine form. This is taxing, however. Half-espers tend towards magic and a number have been captured and forced through mana enhancement processes with varied results.
Some dragons are able to assume a human form. Occasionally, they fall in love with a human and the result is a half-dragon. Half-dragons appear to be human, though they often have a predetory aura about them. Half-dragons tend to be fighters, bards, and mages. No half-dragon has undergone mana enhancement processes...yet.
Mystics are created, not born. Also known as arc knights and vampires, mystics are the results of a total blood transfer from one mystic to a living individual. Mystics are immortal. They are trapped between life and death. Mystics must sustain themselves on mana. They do this by draining blood or mana from their victims. Mystics tend towards mage and fighter classes. Very few, if any, mystics are engineer or ranger classes. No known mystic has undergone any mana enhancement processes.
Once a proud race, imps turned to infighting. Most gave up on civilization and broke into tribes. They were subsequently overrun by encroaching humanity. Imps are often bitter and violent. They tend towards fighter classes. No known imp has undergone any mana enhancement processes.
Often seen as furry and cute, moogles have a close tribal society. Though not always distrustful of outsiders, they tend to keep their own council. Moogles are often outgoing and confusing. Their language is impossible for most to understand and they tend to view things in the longer run rather then being impulsive. Moogles tend to be bard classes. No moogle has undergone any mana enhancement processes.
Often thought to be a myth, yeti live in the far northern regions or on very tall mountians. Yeti are usually solitary, though they have been known to live with moogles. Yeti seem to be able to understand moogles and view them as leaders. Yeti are normally fighter or ranger classes. No known yeti has ever used magic nor been put through any mana enhancement processes.
Living on high mountians or in the clouds, ariel are thought to be related to elves. They are very disdainful of anyone who can't fly or isn't an elf. Ariels tend to be fighters or mages. They have a strange technology which relies on steam which they draw from the clouds. No known ariel has ever undergone any mana enhancement processes.
Often thought to be myth, merfolk live near in the oceans around coral reafs. Naturally shy, merfolk tend to avoid detection. Merfolk can move slowly on land but don't really enjoy it. They tend to be fighters and mages. No merfolk have ever undergone any mana enhancement processes.
Most robots are devoid of any sort of sentience. They are effectively used as work horses. Long ago, though, the formula existed to create artificial intelligences. Some of the robots from this age survived. The AI's of others have been recovered and transfered to new bodies. Robots tend to have some sort of specific use. This is often either fighting, espionage, or standard labor work. Being artificial, robots cannot undergo a mana enhancement process.
