News: PotterWar has been possibly, maybe, not completely, partly — successful!
We didn't get all we wanted; they didn't return all the domains they took. However, they did stop pestering fans. I guess that's something.

I'm still keeping this webpage. I'll let it collect Internet dust bunnies, sure, but there's no real reason to erase it. There's always a chance Time Warner will start this all again.

Harry Potter Fans Vs. The WB

The movie studio is claiming that many of the fan Web sites
violate its intellectual-property rights and is demanding the
domain names be surrendered.

Snowflakes are one of nature’s most fragile things,
but just look what they can do when they stick together.

Just a few opinions

Bryan from Ohio gets this chaos in order

"...You even go after KIDS, what happend to the values..."

"...I think Rowling is being a coward, and letting Warner Brothers do the dirty work for her, in hopes that her most diehard fans won't refuse to open their wallets when "Harry Potter and his Corporate Minions" is released in 2002..."

"...The fan sites are better. That's what pisses em off..."

Here's the deal, as simple as can be:

I support both DADA and PotterWar. When I first found out about what WB was doing, I was shocked. I mean, the victims are just kids! (I'm 13 too by the way, the same age of more than a few victims). They wouldn't have handled it the same way if we were all law school graduates. They're taking advantage of us and I don't think it's fair!

But aren't they helping Harry Potter (you know, with the movie and stuff)?
Warner Bros. wants us to remain crazed fans by buying Harry Potter merchandice off them!
Yet their "support" (which really means advertising and encouraging us to buy their stuff) only extends as far as that. They want to take away our Harry Potter domain name web sites!

Plus, there's also the little economics fact that, when a good thing goes commercial, sooner or later fans get *cough* tired of it.

— So as you see, they aren't helping Harry Potter at all. They're corrupting the magic that made us all fans with their "it's all about the money" ideas.

Yeah, so... what can I do about it?
You can help by spreading the word and boycotting the WB's Harry Potter merchandice! (Don't worry, the boycott doesn't extend to any of the books).

They pick on us and expect us to stand around looking depressed, well we won't have it! They pick on one of us, they pick on us all.

We must stick together and fight this evil force together. Remember, we are stronger united than divided.

What do I care? I'm not a Harry Potter fan
Even if you've never read a Harry Potter book in your life, you should still try to help. This isn't about the books anymore — it's about an unfair demand. Warner Bros. can't take our websites! What they're doing is wrong!

Mwahahaha, it's fun to finally see all those dumb sites go down...Mwahahha
You're mean.
