What is Final Fantasy XI?

Final Fantasy XI will be a new way for Squaresoft to introduce new possibilites for the Final Fantasy Series. The game will be entirely played online by a server called PlayOnline. Snce the game will be online, it will be missing some aspects characteristic of the Final Fantasy series. It will be missing a Story!

The game begins where you register online for twelve dollars a month. You get to choose a race (shown below), and then you have character options such as expression, build, hair color, etc. Then you choose a nation. There are three: Bastok, Windurst, and San D'oria

Races

Humes(Humans.)
TaruTaru( magical little guys)
Elvaan(Elven)
Mithra(another Elvaan race)
Galka( Big built type of race. They seem Brutish.)

Three Areas on the World Map

Bastok: Advanced in technology with the capital city built around a Mithril Mine.
The Federation of Windurst. Many tribes where the Taratara power up in their magic.
The Kingdom of San D'oria. Very Medieval with particularly the Elvaan races residing here.

Chocobos!

Of course every Final Fantasy needs Chocobos. They are coming back yet again. This time, they now have these Chocobo-like agencies/shops in the towns. How these are used precisely is still unknown. Hopefully more information leaks out soon.
