Trust Nverath to fall asleep immediately after exerscising, eating, and bathing. Yup, just really the most in-oportune moment, especially seeing as the bathing followed D'baji's going to the Weyrweaver to get the proper materials and quick lessons to aid him in his attempts at making every single not possible in the Weyr.  So he's propped up against his backpack in Nverath's couch while his lifemate happily saws at logs, black and orange chords in his hands, as well as ribbons the colour of all the dragons under Rukbat, and a rather lost expression on his face, emphasized by the bags under his eyes from a night of next-to-no sleep, and the yawns that keep pulling at his face.

J'den saunters into the Barracks actually looking...relaxed? Yes, relaxed. Which is a first for the rider in quite some time. Normally he's excited, uptight, mad, and a number of other things, but not relaxed... So what could possibly be the reason? Most likely it's the fresh mug of klah in his hands. Klah can work miracles, don't you know? And Jay's just enjoyed his first trip to the Living Caverns to get some in months. Weyrling is headed toward the couch where his sleeping lifemate awaits, but first stops in front of D'baji, grinning at the work in his hands. "Having fun there, D'baji?" He asks, a hint of amusement on his lips. He's completely forgotten the saluting, of course - why would he salute D'baji? And if he wasn't feeling so darned relaxed, he'd probably be perturbed by the fact that his fellow bronzerider is the reason that Jay's now being forced to learn /far/ more about ranks than he ever wanted to. But that's not the case - yet, anyway.

Jozzie marches in, fondling with her angelic curls with her fingers laced through her tresses. As she sees J'den and D'daji, she bares her teeth in a wide smile. "Greetings." she says to them in greetings. It has been already drilled into this Assistant Weyrlingmaster's mind that she must be saluted by her peers.  The bluerider licks her dry lips as she looks across particularly to the individual couches. "I hope everything is clean and orderly." she says as she straightens her shoulders, "Wouldn't want anyone tripping on anything as they walk through the door." A dull ring of her book resounds against the floor as she taps her heel against the stone twice before moving forward into the quarters.

D'baji isn't in the best of moods, having had a night to cool off while mucking couches that don't belong to his Nverath, and not too pleased with himself, or with his punishment, which he considers an over-reaction. And then there's the way some of those others keep looking at him... That P'retty, y'know... With a grunt, the muli-coloured chords are laid aside and he stands, giving a little grimace to J'den before offering a quick, not too precise salute, and not bothering with anything else, before turning to Jozzie and offering her a slow, but quite accurate salute. "/Everything/ is clean," he affirms, idly rubbing at blistered hands from all the dunging fork handling he's been doing. "Or at least it was, but I'm done with that now, I think. Unless she, sorry, Senior Weyrwoman Saria," oh is that a bit of a fond smile there? "decides that I ought to do that for another day." He tilts his head to Jozzie. "Can I see your knot, if you don't mind? I need an example, please... Unless you think it would count as helping me." He's almost enjoying the punishment. Somewhere between bitter and finding it hilarious.

J'den turns around as the bluerider enters, giving her a proper salute (he's gotten good at those) and a nod. "Hello, Assistant Weyrlingmaster Jozzie." Her title is far too long. 'Wingrider' would be much easier. Hmph. At D'baji's remark, he nods. "I'll verify that. My couch has never been cleaner." Not that that's saying much, considering Jay's just barely skated by most of the inspections - and often, he hasn't. A smirk begins to form on his lips as he leans back against the wall next to D'baji's couch. "Of course, it might not be a bad idea to extend his punishment another day. Or, at least, that aspect of it." Snicker.

Jozzie tilts her head towards D'baji. Then a warm smile develops over her lips. "Ahh, Senior Weyrwoman Saria. You happened to run into her at a bad time, umm?" the bluerider says with a bit of empathy. "Well, you need to learn somehow. Am I correct?" Then she glances to J'den, "Any one of you could slip up, and I would guess that anyone higher ranking than you could punish you to make you learn." Being of ther personality which Jozzie has, she is easy on everyone. She would rather go through the steps until one understands. Punishment can be either good or bad. "If Saria did, in fact, punish you- it was probably for a good reason. Obeying Weyrleaders is especially important, so is everyone else of higher ranking. Whatever punishment that was given to D'baji was probably enough for him to learn his lesson. Jozzie removes her knot from her shoulder to show it to D'baji. "I don't have one for being an Assistant Weyrlingmaster, but it is in the process of being made." she smiles.

D'baji shrugs to Jozzie, casting a quick eye towards the sleeping Nverath. "I think it was more she ran into me at a bad time... It was my fault, I'm pretty sure, but I wouldn't have thought it'd be something so big to make up for it. And I /didn't/ lie," is added a bit touchily. "I normally wouldn't, but I dunno, it was certainly... intriguing." But back to being amused with his newfound duties. "Well, I try to do things well," is drawled towards J'den. "Talking back to one of the most important people in the Weyr, for one. I like to think I was rather thorough in that. Or thorough enough." A grin is given as he hops forward to inspect the knot offered. "Well, that's alright, I'm not into the Weyrlingmaster ones yet, so this is really great. I just have to figure out a way to tie it more efficiently. My last one rather fell apart..." He shudders, gesturing toward a partially-unravelled double-chorded loop with two once-were tassles. "And J'den, no. I'm busy enough, with Nverath and doing this, and I can't oil him as well when I've got blisters. And, Senior Weyrwoman Saria," ooh, he's getting quite apt at that, "was quick to encourage that my first duty was to my lifemate. Not you."

J'den shrugs to Jozzie, nodding before glancing back at his fellow weyrling. "Oh, after he's done with this I'd certainly /hope/ he'll have learned his lesson." Sympathy is noted in his voice, because J'den doesn't really feel that D'baji did much wrong, based on the account he heard anyway. Or at least anything to warrant the punishment he received. An eyebrow is raised in the bronzerider's direction. "Calm down, Deba. I didn't mean it. I have no doubt that you have an extraordinary amount of things to do as it is."

Jozzie nods her head in understanding to D'baji. "I understand," she answers as she spares a moment to inspect D'baji's knot. "Well I am not really a weaver myself....make sure that the knot is tight when you braid it," is her helpful suggestion, "and make sure it is tied off nicely at the end so it does not fall apart as your knot has." Her brow then arches, "You think you have learned your lesson, D'baji?" she asks him. Then she gives a light shake of her head, "Anyway, I really meant to come down here to ask all of you what your progressions on your dragons have been." The bluerider chuckles softly, "Well if I happened to bump into Saria as often as you weyrlings down here too, I would most likely be scrubbing the living cavern myself, but we will keep that a secret- okay?"

D'baji gives an apologetic cough towards J'den, scuffing at the ground with a boot toe rather idly. "Well, nevermind, sorry. I really didn't mean it that way, okay?" He's just a poor and confused little man whose fingers are sore and tired. "Thanks for the advice," is noted to Jozzie with a grin before he goes to lean against the nearest wall, closing his eyes and laughing just a bit. "Oh, so this is meant to make me learn a lesson is it? Well, funny, that..." Right eye is opened to observe any reactions. "Of course, a secret. We wouldn't want you doing any labour, would we? I mean, really..." Nverath stirs somewhat in his sleep, bringing both his rider's eyes open. "And I don't think she's- Senior Weyrwoman Saria's- /that/ bad." Even when the woman isn't present, this is a far as learning his lesson goes. So maybe he's learned just a bit. And yes, he has missed a bit of much-needed mental relaxation and sleep and other such necessities to not going insane.

J'den crosses his arms over his chest and watches the bluerider and weyrling from his leaning position at the wall. He grins at Jozzie. "That's a comforting thought. I mean, not you scrubbing the Living Cavern floors," he hurriedly adds. "I mean, the idea of someone of superior rank not being infallible." Or something. "But yeah. A secret." To D'baji, he nods, smiling sympathetically. "It's all right. If I had as much to do as you I'd be snapping, too..." Yes, he does feel bad for the guy. "Under normal circumstances I'd offer to help...but in this case, I don't have a death wish." Which one would need in order to help Deba after the Senior Weyrwoman's warning...

Jozzie ruffles her hand through her tresses. "I'm a Firestormer, we all have trouble written across our faces. Have you ever met R'ley?" Although Jozzie snickers as she seems to appear just as impish as she was as a child. "Anyway, you've been getting those dragonwings working? Exercise is importante." she smiles.

D'baji tugs his gaze from the golden-bronze on the couch to narrow his eyes J'den's way. "Don't bother helping me, it gives me something to do. And 'sides, I don't mind too much, it's just that after a while, if you look at it the wrong way, which you sometimes do while trying to explain why you found annoying the Senior Weyrwoman mildly amusing to your lifemate." Jozzie's comments for R'ley draw a bit of a shudder, and almost a grin. "Lots and lots of exercise. You'd never believe it, but Nverath has managed to remember, for like three sevendays, at least, if not four, that he's defiant for not being allowed to fly. He walks around with wings outstretched if he can. Constantly, I might add." Good move, distract D'baji from his chores so that he can beam for his Companion. "And I swear she's not that bad. It's a big Weyr, y'know, gotta keep order," is added to J'den. Yes, he's found something of an intrigued worship for Saria. Anyone who can put him in his places, y'know...

J'den laughs in Jozzie's direction. "True. I've heard lots about that wing... R'ley? Of course..." One doesn't forget meeting someone like R'ley. Cough. He then nods towards the assistant weyrlingmaster. "Oh yes. /Lots/ of exercise. Which explains why he-" A hand is thrown in the direction of the couch where his lifemate is currently blissfully dozing, "is fast asleep. He's worn out." He grins towards D'baji. "Heliuth wants to fly, too. He's an impatient one." And the way J'den says it, you'd think it was a virtue. "Glad you don't want my help, Deba. 'Cause knowing my nonexistant Weaver abilities, if I tried to make a knot it'd turn out more like...well...I don't know," he admits. "Just something that looks nothing like a knot." As for his defense of Saria, Jay simply leans back and nods slightly. He, personally, is terrified of her. But that's just him.
