Nverath is asleep, stretched out in every way possible so as to take up as much space on the couch as he can. D'baji's found a spot to sit between a foreleg and wing, leaning casually against an especially patterned patch of the bronze's hide, putting sticks together. But not just any sticks. These sticks are, for one, sanded and cut into little planks, three of which are of equal size and length. There are four in total, one being really rather huge, and the other three, the equal ones, being laid across it, and fastened with a great deal of twine. He's rather engrossed in his project, and though Nverath gives a whuffle in his sleep for Yuli's entrance, she'll otherwise go un-noticed.

Yulianna crawls into Nverath's couch with little more to announce her presence than the brief clearing of her throat, then she launches into her monologue.  "If I have to sew another single strip of leather together, I'm gonna turn into a mad wherry!  I've stuck my fingers more'n a hundred times an' I swear I aught to just wrap 'em up in huge bandages."  She huffs and flops down, indian-style, and glares at D'baji, as though it were all his fault.  "What are ya' doin'?  Buildin' a gate so noboody could get into yer couch?"

D'baji nots the clearing of the throat, though is more than happy to finish his joining of notched wood-bits before looking up, even after the speech has started. About halfway through he turns his gaze to her, blinking serenely a few times, and then shrugging. "Come on, it's not that hard," is mused, and then he gives a bit of an embarrassed look, clapping a hand over his mouth. An apologetic shrug later, he's pointing at his little wooden thing, and reaching to a little bag nestled between Nverath's forearms. From this he withdraws a knot (A Dragonhealer knot, to be exact), and a bit of string, tying it loosely and demonstrating what the frame is for by dangling the string from it. And then point to the text on the main frame: Double chords, single loop, double loop, tassle, tail, etc.

Yulianna blinks as D'baji claps his hand over his mouth, and then frowns a little, glancing down at her tunic and skirt and blinking back up at him.  "What...did I get food on myself er somethin'?  I know...I'm a messy eater."  She blinks back up as he displays the knot and raises an eyebrow, "Very...erm...nice?  Ya' plannin' on hangin' yer collection outside yer door er somethin'?"  She wriggles around to pull her knees up to her chest and wrap her arms around them--careful of her skirt, of course.  "When are ya' gonna be done with all that punishment bit an' all, anyhow?  I don't see how anyone could get in so much trouble, ya' know?"

D'baji raises an eyebrow at her, and then shakes his head, pointing at her, fluttering his eyes, and gripping both hands over his heart. No, no, she's quite beautiful. He beams for her 'compliment' to his knot, tossing it and the string back in the general direction of the bag, and fitting the third and final plank on the big one so that the notches line up neatly. He shakes his head for the comment of door decoration, and when she mentions punishment, nods emphatically and points at the soon-to-be Knot Mobile. A shrug of his shoulders for the question originally involving punishment as well, and he pauses to count back on his fingers, finally holding up one finger, and demonstrating sleeping by lying his head on folded hands and closing his eyes.

Yulianna blinks at D'baji, looking somewhere between horrified and horribly insulted.  If he hadn't just spoken, she would swear he'd gone suddenly mute, but as it is, the horribly insulted look wins over and she clambers to her feet.  "Just what is goin' on.  I told ya' last night that if ya' were makin' fun of me I'd...I'd...you'd be sorry.  Now tell me what in Faranth's name is goin' on, er...er else."  And that's quite a threat coming from Yuli, you know.  She taps her foot impatiently, fists planted on her hips as she glares at the man.  "An' ya'd better tell the truth, too...If I find out ya'...well..."  And she actually gives him the chance to answer.

D'baji sinks back into the bronze's hide for a moment, wrapping twine like mad as a nervous twitch, for the look on her face. The twine is tied quickly, and the thing set off to the side along with the pack. He gives a lost little look, peeking over all the peoples in his way out into the barracks, and with a moan that there's activity there, elbowing Nverath's shoulder in an attempt to wake the bronze. In reply, the bronze pushes his wing back, turns his head, and starts snoring, which gets a roll of his eyes. He manages a shake of his head for the whole 'teasing' idea, motioning her to come closer with hopefully raised eyebrows and a gesture of his hand towards himself.

Yulianna would never understand that, of course, and instead she interprets that little shake of Baji's head as 'No I'm not going to tell you and I'm not going to tell the truth.'  Her face flushes a deep, angry red and her hands drop from her sides, clenching into tighter fists.  "Ya'...rotten...wherry headed..." her shoulders begin to shake as well as her clenched hands and she glares at Baji from under brows drawn together in an angry frown.  "Just what are ya' gettin' at here...what's this sick joke all about anyhow?"  Tremble.  Glaaaaare...

D'baji crouches back a bit more as she starts to turn red, poking Nverath to wake up again, but to no avail. So, he holds up his hands in a rather pointed 'whoa, slow down!' sign, stumbling to his feet, though not quite daring to take a step closer. Instead, a hand is cupped over his mouth and he whispers "I'm not allowed to talk! Saria said so!" To Between with titles, he's scared when he's talking vocally. That said, he goes silent once more, rather pointedly clenching his teeth, and gesturing for her to have a seat with him in his spot on Nverath.

Yulianna takes a deep breath at his /very/ brief explanation, head dropping forward to hide her face from him as the tension relaxes out of her shoulders.  She takes a couple steps forward, so that she's less than an arm's length away from him, and tilts her chin up just enough so that she can see his face.  She doesn't look relieved...or sad...or amused...but rather, a blaze burns in her amber-colored eyes, her lips drawn into a thin line, her jaw set.  In a swift, certain movement, she draws her arm back, and lets her fist fly right for his left eye.

D'baji tilts his head at her for just a moment, noting the relaxing in her shoulders, and believing, poor ignorant Baji, that the disaster has been averted. For her few steps forward, he nods, turning to allow her to seat herself first, and just barely catching the completely unexpected swing, moving his head just enough in a failed dodging attempt so he's hit more around the cheekbone than the eye, and, ban or no ban, giving a mighty loud "OW! What the-" as his head is rather swung around, hands flying to the freshly bruised spot and teeth clamping down on his lip to keep him from going into one of those lines of swears so often used by the fisherman he'd worked with. One hand is balled into a fist, and then the little oval explodes, and he mouths the word 'Shards' at her before kneeling to the now-rousing Nverath (oh yeah, he wakes up /now/) and rubbing at the newly-made tender spot, peering over his shoulder a bit accusingly at her, and giving a shrug in plea for an explanation.

Yulianna huffs at D'baji's continued silence and his refusal to defend himself, naturally assuming that she hit the nail on the head (pardon the pun).  "Fine, then.  If yer not goin' ta explain--"  But she doesn't really get any further, whirling on her heel and stalking out of Nverath's couch before the tears in her eyes can be noticed by it's remaining inhabitants.
