Times of day can have interesting effects on different people. Now, D'baji's generally normal in the morning, a bit more active in the afternoon. Nverath is at his very best in the morning, afternoon's are alright. And at night, the pair of them go just a bit wonky. Nverath becomes a bit more animal, for one, making a point of stalking more than walking. And D'baji, ever the aesthetist, runs to nearly every rock or pebble to comment on how wonderful it is, or gets philosophical. So, Nverath is prowling along the path, hide gleaming from a recent bathe and oiling session, and D'baji is staring up at the stars, and rambling something to the effect of how things aren't so bad when one thinks that, no matter where one is, the stars will always be seen. Except when it's cloudy. Kia slips back into the bowl of course she might be trying to sneak with the instrument type thing she's got. Valanth trails along quite awake and alert still.. okay wait his eyes are droopy and he's slinking after her. Sure there's people already there but a little area is chosen for Kia to head towards that's empty for the time being a wiggle fo figners at the others see she saw you and even waved Faranth knows what she's doing now though. Nverath takes a few steps towards the side of the path, which is broadening into something more of a general walking area as he progresses. His steps, of course, are meant to lead him into the shadows, where luminescent eyes are properly focused on Valanth, and a little bit of a hum comes up in his throat. D'baji blinks away from his beloved stars to see what has his dragon near howling, eyes narrowing at Kia, and a little grunt given. It's probably not going to be heard, but meh. He was in the middle of a philosophical ramble, and Faranth help him if he's going to break that without ending it. "So... I should probably write a letter. I can start with the stars. Stars are a good thing to star with." Alright, he's done. Kia peeks over her shoulder seeing as how it's dark and there's not many people about the grunt was heard. Oh it's a Baji is it? Ah well secrecy is something hard to find when you live in barracks with hordes of people. Usually nosey ones too at that, so instrument is brought out as she smiles innocently "You're writing a letter? Stars are always good to start with.. Or end with for that matter" Valanth /used/ to be sorta half awake but the howling of his clutchsib has him blinking lids before warbling back the rather screechy sound to it at the moment. Distanceviewer is placed up to her eye as she takes a peek at the sky and then starts talking to Valanth "This'll show you the stars closer than even flying real high would. Not that we've gotten to do that yet but you know what I mean right?" Rumbled compliance from her lifemate though with her rambling I doubt it was all that important "One in an amazing succession of letters," D'baji adds rather grandly, offering a flourish of his hand to anything in general. "I write as much as I can, really. Generally to a friend at SeaCliffs, though I have written one to my family since Weyrlinghood, but that was more of an update than sharing my thoughts, theories, joys, and fears. And I've not used stars yet, though thinking of them now..." Bronzerider's in a darned talkative mood, now that Nverath is busy and he's found some other ears. Frothy Ridged One, meanwhile, gives a swish of a tail towards Valanth in reply, circling a bit before folding himself neatly into a lying position almost sort of near the blue, eyes whirling with almost hints of yellow amidst a contented green. But not so much an angry yellow as a cautious yellow. Nverath at night yellow. D'baji is soon to take up a seat beside his Companion, giving a pat to the tail that curls around his ankles, and raising a brow towards Kia. "But of course you'd like stars..." Kia bobs her head blue spiked hair bobbing too. "Of course I do after all I joined the Starcraft and /almost/ made Journeyman. It's much better having a lifemate though" pat to Valanth's hide even though the blue is rather interested in his clutchsib at the moment. Nverath looks faintly dangerous and so of course Valanth just has to check this out. Night time has cooled his coloring the waves and rapids of his hide like the desert on a chilly night. Kia however is now intrigued "You send letters to Kristiana? The only one I'd really send letters to is Zeja and she's here with me. Sometimes I remember to write them to Sage and what not but" shrug as DV is offered "Wanna take a peek?" D'baji can't quite help but cast a bit of a frowning swallow for the mention of his letter-writing by someone else. Let's talk about sacriledge, as far as he's concerned. "Yes. All the time," is finally admitted, him having recovered somewhat and casting quite the interested glance towards a few blades of grass. While observing that wonderful way in which the wind toys with them, he raises an eyebrow. Though that's meant for Kia. "I mean, we used to talk alot, so my going off on Search was sorta weird, and now... Well, now I wait until Nverath and I can go to SeaCliffs." Blink, and he leans forward to pet the grass with his hand, eyes flicking up to peer at the distanceviewer. "I... Suppose?" is finally shrugged, one hand holding out for the thing, all the while Nverath turning his head slowly, with an almost-growly-purr to the blue, eyeing him with something of an obvious pride, bordering on contempt, and going so far as to lick his lips. Sometimes, y'know, the great philosopher bronze does get a bit primal. Kia's being frowned at isn't nice hmph she's just trying to be friendly. Shaking it off the blue 'ling moves closer to Baji and drop the DV into his outstretched fingers "Be careful with it thought it's the only one I've got and if you drop it the lenses'll break." sure he's playing with grass and she's not getting any cl(ass) not that she got much anyway it's just her deprived player. Valanth does in fact notice the odd looks he's getting from his normally thoughtful sibling but of course has no caution in this area it's all or nothing all the time you know. D'baji isn't nice. Kia should know this by now. D'baji is utterly tactless, he considers it a waste of time. And D'baji's current moods, what with his recent encounters with the Senior Weyrwoman, and the fact that he's rather often over-tired from extra lessons, and yet still is out fairly late, well... Let's say his moods are less than predictable, and swing more than a jazz band. Ahem. "I'll be careful, I promise," he nods, grasping the thing cautiously and lifting it to his eye, to stare through it a moment, all the while Nverath is inspecting Valanth rather closely, with little gruffs of his thoughts on the smaller dragon. "Y'know, I think I like the stars better without," comes the slightly detached of the bronzerider, who swings the distanceviewer downwards to attempt and peer at the grass through it. Kia still has hope that Baji might one day find tact somewhere. Maybe in the grass if he looks are enough. Next comment about not liking the stars through her only piece of equipement left has Kia frowning "Oh. I like them both ways it's just easier to see some things farther away with that too." uhoh Kia frown she must have something wrong with her cause well frowns aren't in her facial expressions. Hand is held out for the DV and she shrugs "Either way though can I have it back now?" was that a snip in her voice. Might have been considering Valanth has paused in his examination of the oddly changed bronze to peer at his lifemate moving closer to give her a gentle rub of his headknobs D'baji gives another hmm at the very blurry grass he's now peering at, hardly noticing any change in Kia's tone, hardly noticing anything he can't see, to be exact, as he holds out the distance viewer rather carefully to her. "Both ways are alright, I suppose," he decides a bit belatedly. "But the wide spread is my preferred... It's seeing more. Like I could look to Paradise, or SeaCliffs, or something." Note he made SeaCliffs come second. Clever, clever Baji. Surpress them emotions, baby! Okay. Nverath, in his current transformation, gives an almost playful growl towards Valanth. Not one that would be taken badly, his eyes are still mostly green, but it's a growl. Kia, well... He's not growling at her, now is he, though Baji does go so far as to nudge at his lifemate's tail with a toe. "Behave," is muttered to bronze, with a wan smile towards the bluerider. "So, where d'you know Kristi from, then?" |
