Sephiroth was destroyed. Meteor fell. Midgar was left in ruins. AVALANCHE had saved the planet from the powers of the Black Materia, and Holy kept the world stable for a few days... Only four days later, it seemed that the world would collapse again...

Meteor's destruction and the summoning of Holy left the planet in chaos for an extensive period of time. Earthquakes, freak hurricanes, eruptions in the life stream and other tumultuous catastrophes. Paranoia ensued within the lives of the people, all fearing that though Meteor was gone, the planet was still at it's last days. Disarray spread for a year, until peace finally came. An eruption occurred the lifestream, starting in Mideel, then spread across the globe, engulfing the planet in it's healing glow. Cataclysm subsided, and all was silent...

Once it was established that the planet was mending, the people slowly started to rebuild their lives. At a painstaking pace, homes were rebuilt, foundations padded down, and life as the people knew it began to reboot. Many lost their homes, causing them to move to new areas. The strangest thing was not having energy to power themselves. They reverted to the primitive ways, using fire, even materia's soft glow for light, and having to do things without the aid of mako. It was difficult, but survival demanded that it be done.

The members of AVALANCHE stayed together only a few months after the revival of global stability. All remained connected, but no longer traveled together. They built outposts that dotted the map. Tifa, Barret and Vincent took their stations at the Junon outpost, Red XIII stayed at the one in Cosmo Canyon, and Yuffie at West Outpost in northern Wutai. Cid returned to Rocket Town to work on some new Gadgets, and Cait Sith returned to the Gold Saucer, forever loving to tell passing people their fortunes. Finally, Cloud decided to wander. He began to patroll the planet, traversing from continent from continent and checking in at each outpost occasionally. Their bases expanded slightly a year after the lifestream eruption, and they created an emergeny underwater base which would be their haven in case a castrophe like Meteor ever threatened them again. They would not be caught off-gaurd. Further precautions are being planned, but none have been brought to attention. All their efforts are to ensure that the calm continues and that another Sephiroth never rises again.

In the shadows, former Shin-Ra employees were getting restless, particularly a son of a highly ranking official. Hertzfeld Heidegger, spawn of Heidegger of Shin-Ra, was determined to take control of the planet. He felt the people needed a leader, but not one like the Shin-Ra. From the time he was a child, he observed how not only the presidents of the company failed, but his father as well. His goal was to prove his genius he gained from scrutinizing their mistakes and creating a new power where he could rule without flaw. Thus, with his motives clear, he formed Dynamis.

It was only a short while before jis plots came together. His strength grew as everything became organized, and he eventually made it to the public with his promise to erase the scars the Shin-Ra Corporation left of the planet. A slew of movements involving tearing down old mako reactors, helping with the restoration of battered towns, and generally helping ease the stress the masses were facing brought him to the high seat of influence on the political scale. Most of the planet loved him, supporting him in every way, but there are still those who try to bring him down, knowing very well the legacy of Hiedegger. AVALANCHE, Rebels and others are all waiting for any slip up as an excuse to revolt... Soon, they may find their reason..
