All you see is black, then a bright light flashes. You find yourself laying in a field of tall grass. This is nothing like home. Everything about this land is different. Even the sky, which is usually blue, is a pale shade of violet instead. The grass you lay in tinted blue, like a tropical ocean. The trees are gnarled and twisted. Their deformed branches are full of light spring green foliage. Ahead you see a village, but to get to it you must travel through a thick, dense forest. You head toward it, wanting to quickly get over to the village.

No sunlight makes it's way to the forest floor. It is blocked out by the leafy branches of the twisted trees. Suddenly, the ground starts to quake, you recognize that sound, it's marching. Soon you see black unicorns. They march in rows of four. Their eyes are crimson and glow in bloody sockets that search up and down the dark path. You quickly duck behind a big tree and watch them. All vanish as quickly as they had come and the forest is left silent with nothing but a shiver of that memory. When you make your way into the village you mention what you had seen. Some people talk and finally you tell one of the friendly faces what you witnessed. They gasp in horror as you tell your tale. The Shadow Unicorns! The Shifter is gaining power as we speak. The Princess must do something before it's too late. The citzen tells you about the war and how it is affecting the lands.

There Celestial unicorns are the ones who watch over us. They are doing all that they can at this point, but the Shifter is still a threat. He is biulding up his forces, taking captives, and getting new Shadow Unicorns. But the people of Balinor will fight for all they're worth.

The person talks and leads you to a clearing in an enchanted forest. Four paths lay ahead of you. One is dark and smells terrible, like dead animals; this is the path to the Valley of Fear, land of the Shifter and his shadow unicorns. The one next to it glows with a heavenly light. This leads to the Celestial Valley, where the celestial unicorns live. A forested dirt path lies next, and a decrepit old sign reading "Forest of Ardit" sticks out of the ground. The creatures of the Forest of Ardit are fierce fighters for both sides. Lastly, a cobblestone road leads towards a city that lies about a mile away. This is the way to the City of Balinor, where the people of Balinor live. You take a step forward onto a path and a multi-colored light flashes. You are insltantly transported to another land. This is is the life you have chosen, you may not turn back. I hope you enjoy it. A voice says, carried to your ears by the wind. It slowly fades out, and you are left alone.
