Welcome to the Simply Scottish Radio Information and Resource pages! Here, you can access important information and features of Simply Scottish Radio.
Simply Scottish Radio is a weekly Scottish radio program that at its peak has aired in three countries - Mexico, the United States, and Canada, as well as over the internet. The show, created in 1998, features the best of all things Scottish - music, poetry, stories, interviews, history, news, giveaways, spotlights, and more. Simply Scottish is written, produced, and hosted by Scottish father and son team Andrew McDiarmid Jr. and Andrew McDiarmid Sr. The show has been praised by many, inlcuding American author and professor James Kincaid, who says Simply Scottish "provides a superb breadth of material on politics, the arts, and current happenings-- as well as the sweet history. For those who are not Scottish, I cannot imagine a better or more seductive way of entering into the Scottish experience."

In Texas and Mexico:
the program aired in South Texas and Northern Mexico on KMBH 88.9FM and KHID 88.1FM, every Wednesday night from 7pm to 8pm, from Sept. 1998 to Sept. 2001. Despite the show's large popularity here, the station chose to stop airing the program.
In northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and Western N. Carolina: Simply Scottish aired on WETS-FM (89.5FM) every last Sunday of the month at 8pm, from Sept. 2000 to November 2001. The station has suspended its Celtic series of programs (of which Simply Scottish is a part) due to the intense conditions surrounding the U.S. terrorist attacks and ensuing war against terrorism.
In Canada:
Simply Scottish Radio was airing at CFMU in Ontario, Canada until October, 2000. It was dropped from their schedule after a decision by the program director to go with an all-local program lineup.
