The Band at Poole Armistice
The Ringwood Pipe Band are very proud to have received the above award.
The Ringwood Pipe band, together with Reading Scottish and members of Harpenden, Surrey and Bristol Pipe Bands performed as the Massed Pipes & Drums at The Scottish Tattoo "Scotland Forever" on 29 September. Pipe Major Iain McNeill played the solo for Highland Cathedral and joined other pipers in the piping for Moira Kerr's song "When the pipers play". Season review:-
Another season full of variety. For some, the Royal Albert Hall followed on from the band playing in Nice Carnival. Salisbury Races and then a series of marches and carnivals. Weymouth Veterans Military Parade is always special and it was an honour to lead the "Operation Market Garden" veterans in Bournemouth. Made famous by the film "A bridge too far" these Arnhem veterans displayed bravery well beyond the call of duty. Bonnets off to them all.
The appearance of The Scottish Tattoo in Bournemouth International Centre ends a long history of such appearances going back to their inception as our own Wessex Tattoo in 1997. Littlehampton Bonfire March starts our new financial year and then we return to Poole for the annual Armistice Parade. An event to which the Ringwood Pipe Band has long been associated.
