Clyde Ezra BALLARD


Clyde Ezra BALLARD is the son of William "Jack" BALLARD and Cora Summer. He was born on April 15, 1909 in Solo, Pope County Arkansas and passed away on October 11, 1987 in California.

He married Edythe Campbell on September 20, 1931 in Lindsey, Oklahoma. Clyde had blue eyes, fair skin and was about 5'10". He was bald by the age of 20. He and his family moved to California where they began their own diary. They had several children......see BALLARDs for more info on children.

CLYDE EZRA BALLARD......Obituary:

SNELLING -- Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday for Clyde "Curly" Ballard, 78, a retired dairyman who died Sunday in a Merced hospital. Co-officiating will be the Rev. Truman Huddleston of the Chowchilla FREEWIll Baptist Church and the Snelling Odd Fellows Willow Lode 121. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.

Born April 15, 1909 in Solo, Ark., Mr. Ballard married Edythe Campbell on Sept. 20, 1931. They moved to Red Top in 1942, then to the Snelling-Hopeton area in 1951. He retired from the dairy business after 30 years in 1979.

He was a member of Merced Elks Lodge 1240, Odd Fellows Willow Lodge 121 of Snelling and was past president of St. John's Festival of Hopeton, past chief of the Snelling Volunteer Fireme, pastmaster of the Hopeton Grange, and past member of the Board of Directors of the Merced Milling Co.
