      Description: Focuses on the late Qing and early Republican periods. Despite the title, this is an extensive bibliography and is classified by subjects.

    3. Twentieth Century China: A Guide to Selected Sources in the Duke University Libraries (Duke University)

      Language: English.
      Description: Includes only materials available at the Duke University, but is useful as a list of basic resources on contemporary China. Annotated.

      Language: Japanese (JIS), with home page in English.
      Description: Another prominent contribution from the Buddhist sector of Sinological computing. From the introduction: "The WWW Database of Chinese Buddhist texts is a comprehensive list of Chinese Buddhist texts. It currently contains 4375 texts by 1349 authors. (...) Currently at most the following information is available for a text: (1) Title; (2) Period or area of origin; (3) Author(s); (4) Role of the author (i.e. translator, commentator etc.); (5) Size; (6) References to the source catalogues and other canon editions; (7) Structural Division of the text [only for longer texts]; (8) Related texts."
      Note: The whole database can be downloaded for local use. Follow the author's intructions.
