Christmas Cookie Exchange 2000
Welcome to my
Merry Christmas Cookie Exchange
Tea cups from my collection were lined up on the serving bar, each patiently waiting to be specially chosen for use that night.
Pedestal cake stands displayed one dozen of each guest's special cookie.
Everyone brought an individually wrapped dozen of cookies for each guest present. Martha's handled containers, lined with a vintage-look Christmas paper, held date nut cookies. Theresa's Christmas plates of Wookie cookies were wrapped in opulent gold tissue paper.
Betty's mini chocolate fudgie brownies were on large, red plastic holiday platters, garnished with fresh holly, wrapped in festive cello, and tied with red netting.
Mardi's Lemon Whippersnappers were wrapped in clear cello bags and tied with gold ribbon. Missy's Russian Tea Cakes were on ceramic holiday plates, tied up in red cello.
My cookies, a Martha Stewart prize-winning recipe, were nestled in cello bags of gold stars, and placed in bone china Victorian sleighs.
After each person had an opportunity to share something about her cookie (a funny story, why she chose that particular recipe, baking tips, etc.), it was time to eat!
It was fun sitting in front of the fire and the Christmas tree, visiting, laughing, and carrying on!
Wow! All those cookies can make a woman fat! (This is actually my daughter, on the left, who is expecting twins in March; and Cousin Mardi, who is expecting her child in April.)
The gang! Left to right: Theresa, Me, Martha, Betty, Missy
Seated: Jennifer, Mardi
