Early Cretaceous Tethyan Stratigraphy The broad objective of this project is to build a detailed knowledge of the Early Cretaceous stratigraphy in the Tethyan realm. The approach will be systematic through the integration of basin reference sections (stratotypes), basin or platform control sections, biostratigraphic data, and sequence stratigraphy (plus any information which should support correlations). Geology of the Middle East oil province This site focuses mainly on the stratigraphy and the paleontology of Middle East oil province (that is the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, etc.). North Africa GeoNet This site aims to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and information about geological research and exploration in North Africa. In particular the beautifully preserved ammonite faunas of the Gault Clay are illustrated and identified. Corals Catalogue of Cretaceous corals Information on a printed serial which gives a systematic overview of the Cretaceous corals described since 1777. Except for additional notes on localities and taxa, the data are taken from the literature and possess an objective status. Rudists Cretaceous rudist bivalves (Mollusca: Hippuritacea) The philosophy of this taxonomic data base on rudist bivalves is to compile only published information, because a mingling of published information and unpublished (and probably wrong) opinions of the author or others would not serve objectivity.
