Here are the results to WWF Backlash 2000, which took place in late April
Debra opened up the show by making her return to be ring announcer for our first match.
Match 1:Tag Team Title Match
- Edge/Christian(c) vs. Road Dogg Jesse James/X-Pac w/Tori
Before the match, Road Dogg got on the mic and welcomed us to the Dogg House then told us that they will be walking out with tag team gold.
Edge and Christian hit the ring then X-Pac and Edge started things off. Edge put on a side headlock then hit a spinning heel kick after sending him to the ropes. Dogg and X-Pac talked things over in the corner while the fans told X-Pac that he sucks. X-Pac tagged in Road Dogg. Edge hit a head scissors takeover followed by a clothesline. Edge tagged in Christian and the two hit a double team manuever on Dogg. Christian made a cover and scored a two count. Christian hit a powerslam off the ropes then took Dogg to the corner for ten punches, but only landed 4 as Dogg pushed him across the top turnbuckle snapping his head back.
Dogg slapped on a sleeper hold then Christian fought out and tagged in Edge, but the ref didn't see it as X-Pac distracted the ref. Dogg and X-Pac double teamed Christian, putting him in the corner. X-Pac hit a Bronco Buster on Christian then hit a series of hard chops. Road Dogg got the tag in and slammed Christian down then hit the Shake Rattle 'n' Roll knee drop. Dogg made a cover, but had it broken up by Edge. Dogg and Christian collided in mid air when both went off the ropes. Both men slid over to their respective corners. Edge decided to go up top and hit a headbutt off the top on Dogg, then Christian covered him and scored a two only. Christian hit a Reverse DDT on Road Dogg. Christian tagged in Edge. Tori tried to hit Edge, but hit X-Pac instead. X-Pac grabbed the ring bell and tried to use it, but Edge stole it then laid out X-Pac with one hit and scored a three count to retain the tag titles.

Match 2:Lightheavyweight Title Match
- Dean Malenko(c) vs. Scotty 2 Hottie
Malenko opened up by going for a piledriver after a few reversals, then Scotty reversed it into an arm drag takeover. Scotty hit a side headlock slam. Malenko dropped Scotty right to the mat with a devastating clothesline. Scotty landed a few hard right hands then Malenko stopped Scotty with a hard dropkick to the knees.
Malenko worked over Scotty's ankle and knee with knee drops and twisting leg thrusts to soften him up. Malenko was using the ropes for extra leverage and the ref caught him and made him break the hold. Malenko broke it then kicked Scotty's leg. Scotty landed hard right hands to the chest, then Malenko sent Scotty head first into the corner. Malenko put Scotty down in the corner then hit a baseball slide of sorts on Scotty's face. Scotty nearly scored a three out of the corner with a quick roll up.
Malenko and Scotty fell to the outside then Scotty sent Malenko chin first across the apron. They went back into the ring and Malenko hit a superplex off the top. Malenko tried to slap on the Texas Cloverleaf submission, but Scotty reversed it and rolled up Malenko and scored a two. Scotty hit a bulldog out of nowhere then wound up for the Worm and connected! Malenko got back up and rolled up Scotty. Malenko hooked the ropes as the ref counted, but the ref stopped at two seeing Malenko using the ropes. Malenko hit a powerbomb then made a cover, but Scotty kicked out. Malenko hit a powerslam off the ropes, made a cover, but Scotty kicked out in 2. Scotty got hung across the top rope after missing a splash on Malenko. Malenko went up top then Scotty caught him up top. Scotty climbed up and attempted a superplex, but instead, Malenko hit a DDT off the top! Malenko covered Scotty and scored a three for the win.

Match 3:The Acolytes vs. Big Boss Man/Bull Buchanan
All four men immediately started brawling in the ring. Fists and slaps were exchanged for a few minutes then order was restored. Faarooq was worked over in the corner by Boss Man and Buchanan with hard right hands and choke holds for a few minutes. Faarooq managed to make the tag to Bradshaw, but the ref didn't see it so he didn't acknowledge it. Faarooq was beaten down some more by the Cobb County law enforcers.
Faarooq finally made a legal tag and Bradshaw came in and cleared house. Bradshaw and Boss Man exchanged rights then Faarooq came in and knocked Boss Man to the outside. Bradshaw DDT'ed Buchanan then went up top. Boss Man held Bradshaw's leg allowing Buchanan to climb up and suplex Bradshaw off the top. Bradshaw recovered and hit the Clothesline from Hell, made a cover, but Boss Man broke it up. Faarooq followed into the ring and Boss Man pulled out his nightstick and laid out Faarooq followed by Bradshaw. Buchanan hit a top rope scissors kick then covered Bradshaw and scored the three to win the match.

Match 4:Hardcore Title Match
- Crash Holly(c) vs. Tazz vs. Perry Saturn vs. Hardcore Holly vs. Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy
The action spilled to the outside early on and towards the entrance area. Crash was hung upside down on the Backlash set then Matt dove off the top with a flying splash on Crash!!! Part of the Backlash set fell off then Jeff Hardy hit a huge splash. Back in the ring went Crash and Hardcore. The Hardys double teamed Tazz while Hardcore smashed Crash with a 2 X 4. Jeff picked up a steel chair and tried to hit Tazz, but Tazz clotheslined him and Jeff fell on the chair. Tazz slapped on a submission hold on Saturn while Matt and Hardcore went at it.
Hardcore picked up a street sign and laid out Crash with a shot to the face. Tazz landed hard right hands to the face of Saturn then kept trying to cover him. Saturn recovered then went to the apron and landed a flying fist shot on Crash. Tazz, Saturn, and Hardcore teamed up on Crash then Crash slid into the ring and dropkicked Tazz. Saturn and Crash did battle then Tazz dropped Crash with a boot to the face. Tazz laid out the Hardys with right hands putting them back on the mat. Saturn suplexed Hardcore then Saturn tried to cover Crash, but Tazz broke up the pin attempt. Jeff hit a leg drop sending cookware into Crash then made the cover and Matt broke it up.
After some more high flying action, the obligatory ladder came into play brought to us by the Hardys. Crash ate ladder then Saturn was sent almost put in Lawler's lap. Jeff hit a Sentaun Bomb off the ladder on Crash!!!! Matt broke up a pin attempt then Tazz slipped into the ring and put Crash in the Tazmission. Saturn broke up the hold then Saturn and Hardcore fought on the outside. With everyone laid out, Crash rolled over and covered Tazz then scored the three count to win the match.

Match 5:The Big Show vs. Kurt Angle
Kurt Angle came out and bagged on Washington, D.C. and Clinton. Some familiar music hit and out came the Big Show dressed as...Hulk Hogan...no, make it the Showster. Hogan came into the ring and showed his pythons then asked Angle what he was going to do when the Showster runs wild on him.
Angle tried to land hard right hands but Show blocked them then "Showed Up" and landed big right hands to the head. Big Show dropped Angle with a big boot then attempted a leg drop and connected. Angle kicked out of the pin! No one's ever done that! Angle battled back then Show drilled him into the mat with a big chokeslam, made the cover, and this time scored the three count.

Match 6:Dudley Boyz vs. Test/Albert w/Trish Stratus
Before the match, we went to the back where Michael Cole interviewed Trish Stratus. Trish said that she likes how passionate Buh Buh Ray is and he will find out what she thinks about him in a short time.
In another part of the arena, Buh Buh was transfixed and D-Von tried to make him snap out of it.
The match started and Buh Buh went to the outside and chased after Trish. Buh Buh slid into the ring and Test sent him into the canvas with a big boot. Albert came in and went to work on Buh Buh. Buh Buh fought back and put Albert in the corner. Buh Buh told Trish that he was going to get her then went back to work on Albert.
Buh Buh hit a modified suplex then tagged in D-Von. D-Von went to work on Albert with hard right hands then tagged in Buh Buh. Buh Buh hit a gutwrench powerbomb. Buh Buh tagged in D-Von and Albert took a little control. Albert hit a tiltowhirl backbreaker then Albert hit a powerslam off the ropes. T&A isolated D-Von in their corner while the fans chanted for a table. D-Von tagged in Buh Buh, but the ref didn't see it, making it the third time for that, and didn't allow Buh Buh to come in. T&A double teamed D-Von some more. D-Von was catapulted into the top of the ringpost in the corner smacking his throat. Albert hit a powerbomb on D-Von while the fans continued to demand for a table. D-Von hit a suplex off the top then tagged in Buh Buh. Buh Buh went to work on T&A with hard right hands then samoan dropped Test. Albert broke it up with a big boot then the Dudleys hit a 3-D on Test. Test kicked out!
Test went up top and missed an elbow drop on Buh Buh while Albert and D-Von went at it on the outside. Trish got up on the apron and distracted Buh Buh allowing Test to hit a big boot then cover him and score a three. Buh Buh got up and dropped Test with a neckbreaker then they hit a 3-D on Albert. Buh Buh grabbed Trish then a table was set up in the ring by D-Von! Trish started to kiss Buh Buh, but that didn't work this time around! Buh Buh powerbombed Trish off the top and through the table!!!!!! Buh Buh got wood with Trish!!!

Match 7:European Title Match
- Eddy Guerrero(c) w/Chyna vs. Essa Rios w/Lita
Eddy and Chyna rolled into the arena in Eddy's low rider, fresh off the prom and still in their prom outfits.
When both combatants arrived in the ring, Eddy landed some hard right hands then a tiltowhirl drop. On the outside, Rios was sent head first into the ring steps. We went back into the ring where Eddy worked over Rios some more. Eddy tossed Rios to the outside then Chyna low blowed Rios and sent him back into the ring.
Eddy sent Rios to the outside then hit an over the top rope plancha on Rios. Chyna landed a huge elbow on Rios. They went over near the Spanish Announce Table and Lita tried to splash Chyna and/or Guerrero, but both moved and Lita ate the table then fell to the ground. Guerrero was back dropped onto the table then Rios hit a Springboard Asai Moonsault! Rios and Guerrero went back into the ring where they both went up top. Rios hit a superplex then made a cover and nearly got the three. Guerrero recovered and hit a patented Brainbuster suplex. Guerrero went up top for a Frog Splash, but Rios got up then arm dragged Guerrero off the top. Rios went up top and Guerrero got up and caught him then dropped him across his knee. Guerrero hit a neckbreaker then covered Rios and scored the three to win. After the match, Lita came in and stripped off Chyna's prom dress revealing Lawler's two favorite things.
Winner:Guerrero by pinfall and still European Champ
Match 8:Intercontinental Title Match
- Chris Benoit(c) vs. Chris Jericho
Jericho came out and talked a little D.C. talk then told Benoit that he wouldn't have the IC title anymore after tonight.
They locked up and Jericho slapped on a side headlock. Benoit shoved Jericho to the outside then followed out. Benoit went to work on Jericho then sent him into the ring where he landed hard chops galore. Benoit hit a belly to back suplex. Benoit tried a diving headbutt on Jericho with him hung in between the second and third rope, but Jericho moved and Benoit ate the apron and fell to the outside. Jericho went to the outside and picked up the ring steps and Benoit dropkicked them into his face. They went back into the ring where Benoit hit a gut buster. Jericho fought back and attempted a dropkick, but Benoit moved and Jericho ate the mat. Benoit sent Jericho head first into the top turnbuckle then suplexed him and tried a pin, but only scored a two.
They exchanged right hands then Benoit knocked Jericho to the mat and put him in an abdominal stretch submission hold. Jericho fought out then landed a back elbow knocking him to the mat. Jericho hit the Lionsault off the middle rope, but may have hurt himself. The ref counted both men and Jericho got up at 9 and covered Benoit, but only scored a two. Benoit got up and landed hard knife edge chops. Off the ropes, Jericho landed a spinning heel kick sending Benoit into the mat. Jericho landed chops of his own then knocked Benoit down to the mat with a hard clothesline. Benoit tried a suplex after getting up from a pin attempt, but Jericho blocked it then hung Benoit out to dry across the top. Jericho tried a dropkick, but Benoit threw Jericho's feet away and Jericho fell to the mat. Jericho got up and lunged at benoit and knocked him into the corner. Jericho put benoit up top then tried a superplex, but Benoit turned it into a splash into a pin. Benoit scored a two count only.
Jericho and Benoit each went for a backslide, but Jericho powered out then hit a powerbomb, then another powerbomb, then scored a two. benoit kicked out then slapped on the Crippler Crossface Submission! Jericho slid to the ropes and grabbed the ropes to break the hold! Benoit slapped it on again and Jericho tried to fight out. Jericho fought out then slapped on the Walls of Jericho! Benoit managed to get to the ropes to break the hold! The referee got hit right in the face by an accidental elbow knocking him to the mat. Benoit went up top and hit Jericho in the face with the IC Belt, then revived the ref, covered jericho, but only scored a two! Benoit suplexed Jericho onto the belt then went up top! Benoit tried a Diving Headbutt, but missed as Jericho moved out of the way. The ref called for the bell and DQ'ed Jericho! WTF?! After the match, Jericho put the ref in the Walls of Jericho and seemingly snapped, just like in WCW.

Main Event
Match 9:World Title Match
- Triple H(c) w/Vince McMahon vs. The Rock w/Steve Austin
Special Ref: Shane McMahon
Vince got on the mic and said that if you read the program for Backlash, you'll see that it says "Card subject to change" so, with that in mind, Austin will not be here tonight. The fans chanted for Austin, but instead got the Rock, who came down to the ring to a loud, disappointed applause. The fans chanted for Austin, then the match was on!
HHH and Rock exchanged hard right hands then Rock landed a big right hand putting HHH on the mat. HHH went for the Pedigree, but Rock countered into a back body drop. They spilled to the outside where Rock was dropped on his back on the announce table. Rock was knocked face first onto the announce table. Vince came over and sent Rock head first into the ring post. HHH sent Rock into the ring then covered him and Shane counted a two only. HHH hit a belly to back suplex then covered him and scored a two. HHH made two more covers, but Rock kicked out each time. HHH slapped on a sleeper hold and wore Rock down to the mat. Rock powered back up then landed elbows breaking the hold, but HHH knocked him down to the mat with a knee. HHH covered him and scored a two only. Vince yelled at Shane for not counting fast enough. HHH started taunting Rock so Rock punched him below the belt stopping HHH short.
Rock landed right hands then both men hit clotheslines knocking each other down. Shane started to count both men out then Rock pulled himself back up and got laid out by Vince. Of course, Shane didn't see it, (wink, wink.) HHH covered Rock and Shane counted very quick, but rock kicked out anyways. The fans still wanted Austin. Rock got up and landed right hands to the face. Rock clotheslined HHH to the mat then Rock sent HHH to the outside. Rock sent HHH arm first into the ringpost. Rock sent HHH into the ring then hit a DDT, made the cover, but Shane wouldn't count it. Rock got up and grabbed Shane, then HHH got up and grabbed Rock and sent him to the outside. HHH sent Rock shoulder first into the ringsteps. They fought up the entrance ramp, then HHH tried a Pedigree, but Rock reversed it then gave HHH and Shane a Double Rock Bottom off the stage, through a table off down below, and into the concrete!!!!!
Rock went into the ring and Vince taunted the Rock. Rock and Vince went at it, then HHH came back into the action and Pedigreed Rock. With no ref, no one could count HHH's pin...so, Patterson and Brisco came in and Patterson counted, but rock kicked out! HHH beat down on Rock without mercy then Vince came in and laid the smackdown on the Rock. With Rock motionless, the Glass broke across the arena!!!!!!! Austin stormed to the ring with chair in hand and cracked everyone in sight across the head with the chair!!! Shane came back in and Austin laid him out for good measure! Rock was the only one not hit by a chair! Earl Hebner came into the ring! Rock dropped the People's Elbow on HHH! Rock covered HHH!!!! Hebner makes the count...ONE....TWO....THREE!!!!! ROCK WINS THE BELT! Rock is the new champ!

After the match, Rock and Austin celebrated then Austin went to the back and brought out the broken down, burnt out, blasted out, DX Express! Austin called for a few beers then Rock and Austin celebrated with a beer ending the show!
